The cost of a night nanny in San Diego, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in San Diego, CA, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. My journey to becoming a mother was not easy. I had two very different and difficult births that taught me a lot about myself and the challenges of childbirth. My first birth was a long and exhausting labor that ended in an emergency cesarean. I felt scared, helpless, and disappointed that I couldn’t have the natural birth I wanted. My second birth was a planned cesarian, I felt unprepared, anxious, and overwhelmed by the intensity of the experience and felt guilty for not trying to deliver naturally. Both of my births left me feeling traumatized and in need of healing. These experiences made me realize that there is a gap in the traditional healthcare system when it comes to supporting mothers during birth. I felt that I didn’t get enough information, education, or emotional support from my providers, and that I had to advocate for myself and my baby. I decided to become a doula to fill that gap and to help other mothers have a better birth experience. As a doula, I offer personalized and continuous support to mothers before, during, and after birth. I help them prepare for their birth, cope with their pain, communicate with their providers, and celebrate their achievements. I want every mother to feel empowered, respected, and joyful during their birth.

Doula Laci is an amazing doula for all birthing people regardless of birth plan! Many other doulas I’ve met have pushed an exclusively “natural” birth plan but that doesn’t work for all bodies or families. Laci is amazing, understanding of multiple birth experiences and needs, and a deeply empathetic individual. You couldn’t find a better doula for your birth.

Hi, I’m a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula based in San Diego, California, primarily supporting families throughout North County. As a mother of four girls myself, I understand firsthand how meaningful, and sometimes overwhelming the transition into parenthood can be. I’m passionate about providing compassionate and reliable support to families during the postpartum period. I have experience caring for both singleton and multiple babies, as well as infants with specialized medical needs, including G-tube feeding. I’m certified in Adult and Infant First Aid and CPR, and I’m a non-smoker. My goal is to help families feel confident, supported, and cared for as they adjust to life with their new baby.

Kristy has been such a gift to our family since 2022. She has walked alongside us through so many seasons, from those tender first days of bringing home a brand new baby to toddlerhood and everything in between. She has a beautiful way of stepping in and noticing the needs you don’t even realize you have. She has helped me feel less alone, offered an extra set of hands when I needed them most, and has always cared for our family with so much thoughtfulness and heart. She is truly the person I know I can call when I need someone I trust with childcare. I’ve also had the privilege of seeing the care she has given to other families, and the gratitude they have for her speaks volumes. Kristy doesn’t simply help care for children, she cares for the whole family during seasons when an extra set of loving hands can mean everything. We are incredibly grateful for Kristy and the care, consistency, and kindness she has brought into our lives. Any family would be so fortunate to have her. 🤍

With 15 years of experience as a dedicated doula, I’ve had the honor of supporting countless families through the transformative journey of birth and early parenthood. As a proud mom of six, I bring a deep, personal understanding of the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a new baby. My hands-on experience, combined with years of professional support, has shaped me into a trusted newborn expert—offering compassionate, practical guidance to help parents feel confident and cared for during this sacred season of life.

Hiring Abigail Smith as our postpartum night doula was, without question, the best decision we made as new parents. From the very first night she walked into our home, she brought with her a sense of calm, warmth, and deep compassion that changed our entire experience of early parenthood. She didn’t just care for our baby — she loved our baby. And she didn’t just support me — she held me, emotionally and spiritually, through some of the most tender, vulnerable nights of my life. In every moment, she was present. Gentle. Wise. Unshakably grounded. Each night, Abigail created a peaceful, nurturing environment for our little one to thrive and for me to heal. She knew exactly what we needed before we did — whether it was expert swaddling, lactation guidance, a warm cup of tea, a reassuring word, or simply space to sleep without worry. Her intuition is unmatched, and her professionalism is seamless. But more than all of that, Abby loved us. That love showed up in every tiny detail — in the way she soothed our baby back to sleep, in how she respected our rhythms and choices, and in how she always, always made me feel seen, safe, and never alone. She became part of our family. Letting her go at the end of our time together was genuinely one of the hardest goodbyes we’ve ever said — that’s how much of an impact she had on our lives. If you're lucky enough to welcome Abby into your postpartum journey, know this: you are in the presence of someone truly extraordinary. She is not just a doula. She is a healer, a nurturer, and a quiet, powerful presence who will carry you through the night with love.
