Hello, I’m Laporcha And Birth work was called to me after my mother passed away. In that moment, I realized she would no longer be there to comfort me, advocate for me, or welcome another child into this world by my side. She would never have the opportunity to be my doula. So, I became one. I became a birth doula for those who need to be seen and heard. For those who have lost their support systems. For those who fear they won't have the beautiful birth experience they dream of. For those whose voices have been silenced but whose hearts have so much to say. For those whose trauma feels louder than their strength. For those who struggle to advocate for themselves. And for the first-time mother who is terrified of walking into motherhood alone. I bring all of me into this work—my own birth experiences, my fears, my healing, my trauma, my gifts, my compassion, and my knowledge. Those pieces have shaped the doula I am today. My mother was the roots of our family. She was our safe place, our strength, and the one who nurtured everyone around her. Though she is no longer here physically, her love continues to grow through me. That is why I chose the name Mello Roots. I will water her legacy through every birth I attend.
