Having Jennifer by my side during my pregnancy and birth was one of the best decisions I made. Hello! Thank you for being here! My name is Kristin, I’ve been on a mission to encourage women to take back birth and own their unique stories through yoga, breath, reiki, Ayurveda healing and traditional remedies. *Please note I only companion women in births at home outside the system*

Recent review

Dearest Kristin, I am writing you to thank you for the gift you have given my family, myself specifically. It was a no brainer investing in a doula for this second pregnancy, and everyone was right - we had no regrets picking you! A clear comfortable contract didn’t prepare me for the support you provided. Though we hired you for post-partum care, you were a support during my very hard pregnancy. You provided me validation, connection, spiritual healing, not to mention the massages my body so desperately needed! Deciding whether to be induced was a huge mountain for us. I was high risk and my body had enough. You helped me understand my decision with love and compassion. You were so flexible with scheduling to respond to my extended hospital stay. You supported me through the phone and I felt safe leaving the hospital to come home to your care. A day with you nourished our family physically and spiritually. We were so shattered from the trauma of the birth and extended stay in the hospital. You supported our sleep, eating, and encouraged ways for us to connect while we were transitioning to a bigger family. Cooking for us, cleaning for us, yoga with my toddler while my husband and I could regroup. Having you for a few overnights helped so much with my healing and recovery. I am so grateful for investing in my recovery and choosing you. Anna

I am a birth worker since 2012, I have provided a variety of services in a variety of settings around the world. I am located in Toronto, Canada, but I am available to travel for minimum one month commitments. I have worked in Macau & Hong Kong, Manila, Nairobi, Vancouver, and Guadalajara, and have a global perspective on birth physiology and traditions. I provide trauma-informed, and culturally safe care, be it education, lactation support, birth and postpartum doula services, or midwifery care. I’m available as a midwife only where a license isn’t required. My approach is very collaborative—rather than “save” you from unsafe practitioners, I prefer to work with you comprehensively in the prenatal period to be sure you have the environment you need for a peaceful and satisfying (physiologic, if possible) birth. My years and depth of experience and knowledge sets me apart from most locally-focused doulas, so I tend to work well with expats and globe-trotters like myself. My happy place is home in Ontario in the near North, at the cottage that has been a part of my family’s experience for 100+ years. I love all animals but especially dogs, and I ADORE drinking coffee and discussing big ideas.

If you want the best, hire Christy. Where to begin? We LOVED working with Christy. If you’re reading these reviews wondering if you should have her as your doula, you definitely should. Our experience with Christy was nothing short of extraordinary. After the birth, I described Christy to my husband as our angel - as it felt that she magically appeared and blended in, giving just the right level of support and guidance, without being overbearing or intrusive. Her presence felt very natural and she completely put myself and my husband at ease. Christy played a pivotal role in helping me establish breastfeeding, which really helped set us up for success with feeding, and having her there to help with this immediately after the birth was invaluable. After our daughter was born, Christy continued to check in with us, and we felt extremely well looked after. She is clearly an expert both in caring for mothers in the postpartum period, but also in caring for newborns, and her years of experience meant we felt in very capable hands. Her dedication to postpartum care is unmatched, and her deep understanding of the emotional and physical needs of both the birthing person and their partner is truly remarkable. Christy’s passion for what she does shines through in every interaction, and her knowledge in perinatal care is both comforting and empowering. I give Christy my highest recommendation – any family would be very lucky to have her as part of their parenting journey!

I love helping women understand and awaken to their own power in birth. Babies profoundly benefit from their mothers feeling a sense of empowerment and freedom throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. During this meaningful and normal physiological process, there is a hormonal orchestra that helps both mom and baby to dance and shift their way into each other's arms. My goal is to protect this space, offering a balance of privacy vs suggestions and guidance. Part of my expertise lies in recognizing and distinguishing normal from abnormal during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It is an honor and privilege to walk beside families in their childbearing seasons and adjust care to fit individual needs.

Review for Shelly As I approached the end of my pregnancy, I started to reconsider the free birth I had been planning and began to explore my options. I came across Shelly through Facebook, and we talked at length about what I had envisioned for this birth. Shelly asked very concise questions in order to acquaint herself with my expectations and to deliver a reasonable response to those expectations. She was thorough and honest. Ultimately we both decided that she would attend my birth and provide me with the hands off approach that I desired in my birth. As my due date came and passed, Shelly was speaking with me daily. She provided me with further reassurance that things were going smoothly. She not only answered my questions, but conferred with other midwives in the community so that she could be certain she was giving me all of the information she had available. Shelly and Staci arrived right on time for my birth, responding immediately to my husbands call. They entered my home peacefully and with the utmost reverence for the birthing space I had created. Their presence was non intrusive, and they waited patiently until my husband and I needed them in the room. Shelly allowed me to birth the way I intuitively desired, and asked to step in when she realized my baby girl wasn’t descending any further. She used her judgment in adjusting my position and assisting me with catching my baby. She provided all the necessary care after delivery, paid great attention to details in checking over my placenta and baby, and allowed my husband and I to get comfortable. Shelly followed up promptly and further provided comfort and care to myself and my newborn. She kindly went over the birth with me and we shared some of our passions and thoughts regarding the experience. Shelly was fantastic, adaptable, and humble. She is a great person, and a great midwife. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to get in touch with a midwife, and I truly hope she is able to leave her permanent mark in the birthing community.

Hello! My name is Staci and I am a homebirth midwife. We, my husband and 4 children, have lived in NEOHIO for about 7 years. As a homebirth midwife we are eager to to learn about the family and what moves them to birth at home. We walk with the family throughout pregnancy and give as much information as we can get our hands on to share with them so they can make informed decisions about their birth care. We do all of our visits and care in home. We spend an hour or more if needed at each visit. We cherish this time of intimacy. Health, through food, exercise, and herbs, is our utmost focus. We are continually trying to learn and grow and share with our clients all we can. Some clients prefer to have co-care with an OB OR nurse midwife while others want nothing to do with any hospital care (unless a case of transport). We love to customize our care to our individual families.

I have worked closely with Staci Dasher since January, 2021. First, while apprenticing under her, I learned to appreciate her quiet and calm understanding and teaching of the birth process; watching her engage with clients and discuss the intricacies of how birth unfolds is beautiful to see. Now, as her birth partner I deeply appreciate her commitment to serve families with hands-on, individualized midwifery care and to communicate in ways that ensure that families know they're heard and they are deeply cared for.

Working with Roman during my pregnancy and birth experience was truly a gift. I had the most beautiful and empowering home water birth surrounded by love, peace, and support, and Roman played such an important role in helping create that space. Her presence was calming, intuitive, nurturing, and deeply grounding. I felt seen, safe, respected, and supported every step of the way. She held space for me in such a gentle yet powerful way and helped me stay connected to myself, my body, and the sacredness of the experience. As an artist and deeply creative person, I know this experience will stay with me forever and continue to inspire the way I create, heal, and hold space for others. Roman helped make that possible by helping me feel fully held, emotionally safe, and spiritually supported throughout one of the most transformative moments of my life. Hello birthing parents! My name is Linda May. I am an experienced doula ( over 12 years ), with a passion for helping clients who have experienced birth trauma. Congratulations on beginning your journey into motherhood! As a mother of four babies I remember what an exciting but also a little frightening time this is. I love being a doula because I can help women decrease their fear and turn it into empowerment. My background as a nurse helps me to understand the scientific evidence that shows having a doula as part of your birth decreases labour times and the need for interventions. It is wonderful that you’ve been able to reach out and find support. As Ina May Gaskin said, we are not lemons! I strongly resonate with her belief that we were created to birth, and it would be my honour to support you and help give you the birth that you are looking for, whatever that means for you. Sincerely, Linda May. Ps. Please bear with me with regards to my social media presence! I am in the process of updating everything including my website. Linda was amazing! During my second pregnancy, I was looking for a doula who could support me in having a more positive birth experience. My first labor and birth were very traumatic, and I wanted someone who would help me advocate for myself and feel confident in achieving the peaceful and empowering birth I had always dreamed of. From the beginning, Linda was such a warm, comforting, and reassuring presence. She patiently answered all my questions and was incredibly knowledgeable, especially with her background as a nurse. She had also given birth at the same hospital in London where I planned to deliver, so she was able to share valuable insight and help me feel more prepared for what to expect. Linda went above and beyond to make sure I felt informed, confident, and supported throughout my pregnancy and birth. She made me feel heard and empowered to make decisions that felt right for me. I'm so happy to say that I was able to have the peaceful and empowering birth experience I had hoped for, and I truly believe so much of that was thanks to Linda. I'm incredibly grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and supportive doula!

I’m incredibly proud to write this review for my daughter as she begins her journey as a doula. From the very start, she has approached this role with genuine passion, care, and dedication. Having completed her training and already supported her first birth, she has shown that she is more than ready to take on this important work. She is a deeply loving and supportive presence, someone who naturally puts others at ease. Her attentiveness and strong sense of responsibility ensure that nothing is overlooked—she is both detail-oriented and highly task-focused, which brings a sense of calm and confidence to those around her during such an important time. What stands out most is her ability to truly be present. She listens, she cares, and she shows up fully for the families she supports. I have no doubt that she will continue to grow and excel as a doula, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate, reliable, and thoughtful support during their birth experience.

Alycia came into my home postpartum to help me both with childcare and some small housekeeping. Her experience with children speaks for itself. She’s not only kind, patient, and compassionate, she’s also naturally comfortable caring for children. Having a support in your home postpartum that is strictly there to support you is an invaluable experience. Having not only help with my baby and some help cleaning up, but also just a nonjudgmental, knowledgeable source to speak all things postpartum to, really lightened the postpartum mental load. I would welcome Alycia into my home to help with my baby and I anytime.
