For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and pregnancy loss. As a certified full-spectrum doula, childbirth educator, lactation coach, infant massage educator, and maternal health advocate, I believe every family deserves compassionate, evidence-informed, and culturally responsive care that honors their unique journey. My approach blends practical education, emotional support, informed decision-making, and gentle advocacy so you feel confident, prepared, and empowered to make the choices that are right for you. Whether you are welcoming your first baby, growing your family, planning an unmedicated birth, preparing for an induction or cesarean birth, navigating postpartum recovery, or seeking support after loss, I meet you with compassion, respect, and unwavering presence. Having supported more than 500 births, I know that no two birth stories are alike. My role is not to direct your experience, but to walk beside you—helping you feel heard, informed, and supported every step of the way. I am committed to creating a safe, judgment-free space where your voice is centered, your preferences are respected, and your family feels cared for beyond the birth itself. Whatever your journey looks like, it would be an honor to walk beside you and be part of your village.

Hi, I'm Catherine! I live in Hyattsville with my husband, 2.5 YO son and puppy named Daisy. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2014, I traveled around doing some mission work, met my husband while living in Maine and eventually we landed back in my hometown to start a family. I love spending time at the beach, going for walks outside, a little coffee with my cream, fuzzy socks, loud country music, driving with the windows down, bonfires, sweater weather, cooking and baking from scratch, salted caramel, mom groups and Gilmore Girls. I believe that birth is meant to work, and that all women deserve support, encouragement and respect while they are birthing their beautiful baby! Let me walk with you on this journey towards motherhood however that looks for you. I am happy to support you with in-person or virtual doula services. I am trained in Hypnobirthing and Lamaze techniques, and currently working towards certification with Madriella Birth Doula Certification. I am excited to meet you and support you on this journey - reach out to me today so we can chat about your hopes and dreams for this birth! :)

Catherine was our support system for the birth of our first daughter. She taught us so much as we prepared to welcome our daughter, and she was the cheerleader I needed by my side during delivery. She was always available for random questions/concerns and she helped us get the information we needed to feel confident in the decisions we made at the hospital and beyond. As a Catholic family, it was also really nice to have another strong Catholic woman praying for us and with us throughout the whole process. I have recommended Catherine to friends considering hiring a doula, and I will continue to do so.

Tidal Nest is a postpartum doula practice serving Annapolis and Anne Arundel County — Severna Park, Crofton, Edgewater, Davidsonville, Arnold, and Kent Island. It's run by Corinne Carter, a CAPPA-certified postpartum doula, Annapolis local, and mother of three boys. The fourth trimester gets called magical. Mostly it's a steep learning curve: reading what your baby needs, feeding through rough patches, tracking your own recovery, knowing the difference between hard-but-normal and time-to-call. Most new parents teach themselves all of it alone at 11 p.m. on three hours of sleep. Tidal Nest exists to compress that curve. That means coaching, not rescue. Early on, Corinne does more of the hands-on work while you recover, explaining her reasoning as she goes. By weeks two and three you're leading and she's a guardrail. By week four, most clients report what worked instead of asking what to do. The measure of success is being needed less. In-home support starts at $55/hour daytime, $60/hour evenings, with a four-hour starter package and a prenatal consult. Also: the Monday New Mom & Baby Support Group, a virtual option, and digital guides. Non-medical support, every family configuration welcome. Every engagement starts with a free 20-minute consult.

I cannot recommend Corinne enough! She is extremely passionate about babies and helping new moms navigate the difficult postpartum period. It was so helpful having her around to help with all things baby after the arrival of my third- helping with newborn care, holding the baby to give us a break, helping with my toddlers, or listening without judgement. She was a true lifesaver this time around!

Alyssa is a real rockstar!! 🫶🏻 After having a much harder birth and breastfeeding journey the first time, I was honestly so afraid I was going to go through all of that again. Instead, this experience was completely different. She gave me the confidence, education, and support I needed, and it not only helped me heal physically and emotionally, but it also made my breastfeeding journey so much smoother! 🤍 Because of her, I now feel healthy, confident, and ready to get back to doing what I love. I’ll always be so grateful for everything she's done for our family. She has such an incredible gift and so many mamas are blessed because of her! 😌👏💛

As a mother of five, healer, and birthkeeper, I bring over 22 years of experience caring for infants and young children, starting at age 13 when I cared for my nephew. I am dedicated to empowering women through holistic, nurturing, and informed birth experiences. I am the visionary founder of She Who Births All, Inc offering birth planning, herbal wellness, lactation support, and spiritual birth preparation. I also founded Bee Haven Holistic Health and Wellness Clinic, committed to whole-family care from infancy through end-of-life. Dr. Burton has truly been a life saver for me and my family. After two years of trying to convince myself to seek the right kind of care, I finally found her, and I’m so grateful I did. She cared not only for me, but also for my husband and our two children when she was practicing in Indiana. She was my doula for both my very first birth and my last birth, and I couldn’t have imagined having anyone else by my side. Her presence, guidance, and support made all the difference for me and my family during those sacred milestones. Although I was saddened to hear that she was closing her Indiana location and relocating to the DMV area, I completely understand her decision as she continues advancing her education and completing her clinical preceptorship. While she now focuses specifically on Women’s Health and Maternity, I’m happy to know that I can still continue with her as a Telehealth patient. Meeting Dr. Burton in Indiana was a blessing for our household. Her compassion, knowledge, and dedication to holistic care have made a lasting impact on our health and well being. Even though her practice has shifted, I remain grateful that she was part of our journey and look forward to continuing my care with her in this next chapter.

I support parents who want a deeply intentional, holistic postpartum experience that prioritizes healing, nourishment, and emotional support, not just survival. My work centers on helping you feel prepared, rested, and cared for as you recover from birth and bond with your baby. I provide personalized postpartum planning, guidance on physical recovery, newborn care support, and practical help establishing boundaries, rhythms, and sustainable systems at home. Families who work with me value a grounded, intuitive approach to parenthood and want support that honors both the science of postpartum care and the wisdom of the body. What sets my work apart is my holistic training and focus on whole-person healing. I integrate Ayurvedic postpartum principles, offering guidance on warming foods, nourishment for breastfeeding, and practices that support hormonal balance, energy, and recovery. I help parents understand how to nourish their bodies for milk production, rebuild strength after birth, and create a home environment that promotes rest and regulation for both parent and baby. My approach blends trauma-informed emotional support, attachment-focused care, and community-centered values so you feel confident, deeply supported, and truly held during this transformative season.

Siena was a wonderful doula - I highly recommend her! For my second baby, I was trying for a VBAC. My baby was a few days late and I was very worried about having to be induced. Siena gave me so many helpful tips to try to bring on labor and I tried ALL of them. All of that prep work definitely contributed to going into labor, the short labor that I had (less than 3 hours from first contraction to delivery!) and my successful VBAC without an epidural. I had such a radically different experience this birth compared to with my first kid (did not have a doula that time around). And my entire postpartum experience was much improved because the labor was so much different/better. I am very appreciative of Siena's guidance and support throughout the latter weeks of my pregnancy. All of her work with me and my husband definitely helped create that positive experience and I will be forever grateful! Siena has a very calming presence, and I always felt cared-for and prepared after talking to her. She also encouraged me to think about things that I wouldn't have thought of on my own - i.e. how to prepare for the postpartum period. Because my labor was so short, Siena arrived very soon after the baby was born and she helped calm me down and deal with the crazy shakes and nausea that I had, as well as breastfeeding. She immediately assessed the situation and was able to provide things that were really comforting to me, without me even asking - she massaged my feet and put some peppermint oil by my head. And in those quiet moments following delivery, those careful, considerate details will forever be ingrained in my memory of my baby's first minutes in the world!
