ve Clients, I am writing to express my deep appreciation for the remarkable care and support I received from Cheyenne and Cree during my pregnancy and postpartum journey. As a first-time mom, I was fortunate to have Cheyenne as my homebirth and postpartum doula, and to also benefit from her placenta encapsulation services. Her expertise and holistic approach put me at ease throughout the entire process, and her commitment to educating me was invaluable. Cheyenne provided exceptional prenatal care, offering guidance and addressing my concerns with utmost patience. During labor and delivery, she ensured that I felt supported, while Cree provided emotional support for both my partner and me, capturing breathtaking photos that we will cherish forever. What stood out most was their dedication to making me feel comfortable, their willingness to address all my questions, and their unwavering support in overcoming my childbirth fears. The family-oriented care I received from Cheyenne and Cree made the experience even more special. I have referred my friends and family to their services, and I genuinely believe that booking them as your doulas is the right choice.

Hello, I'm a queer and trans full-spectrum doula working in Houston, TX. Full-spectrum means that I am trained and experienced in supporting families through the whole range of pregnancy experiences, including trying to conceive, pregnancy, labor, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and/or abortion. All of my work is grounded in supporting folks in creating the families they want, when they want to, and how they want to. This looks like: accompanying you through the many decision points in your pregnancy and parenting journey, providing emotional and logistical care throughout this time of great transformation, and making sure you are connected to the resources you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family.

We didn’t know we needed Chloe until we met her. It wasn’t until very late into my pregnancy, sometime around week 38, that we reached out to her for post-partum doula services and she was very flexible in accommodating us. As soon as we met her, we knew she was the person who would be now part of our journey as first-time parents. She was caring, attentive, listened to our concerns, and graciously supported us through every transition. I had a complicated delivery and recovery, and her calming and reassuring presence allowed me to heal as my husband and I learned how to care for our newborn. She was very flexible in creating a schedule that adapted to our needs week by week, and always brought nourishing food, sometimes bringing extra for other family members. Looking back, the early weeks of post-partum were extremely difficult mentally and physically since I had undergone a C-section, but her support was essential in getting us organized, learning how to prepare bottles, showing us positions to feed the baby, techniques for soothing, how to baby-wear, how to handle visitors and protect our boundaries, guiding my husband on how to be a helpful partner, and even be a crying shoulder when things got tough. Beyond being a doula, she’s also helped us with some babysitting now that our baby is older. It is comforting to know that our baby is cared for by someone who met our baby from birth and was familiar with our home dynamics. Hands down, she is our #1 option when we need someone to take care of our baby so we can have time for self care - which is also something she emphasized since day 1. If this was a voice message, it would consist of 10-15 minutes of nothing but good stories and praises for her - so this is our short and sweet version. We cannot recommend Chloe enough as a doula. She’s the best!

Hello! I’m Gabrielle and I am a birth and postpartum doula. I was born and raised in a small town near Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas to open the first few In N Out Burgers in San Antonio. I met my husband and moved back to California to be more close to my family, but missed Texas- so we are back again! I have a husband, 2 kids, dogs, cats, and chickens. We are very active with our local shelter and almost always have a foster animal, or 3. For 2 years we lived in an RV traveling to 12 states, and we would love to see more. I homeschool my children, and in my free time I love to travel, explore nature, listen to music, and catch up on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree and I am currently going to school to become a Registered Nurse. After my second child, I realized how important it is to have a village. I believe if I had a postpartum doula, my fourth trimester would have been completely different. There are so many women that don’t have a good support system, even though everyone deserves one. Being able to help my family members and friends who were postpartum has been such a rewarding experience; it led me to seek out formal training in doula work so I could make a career out of helping people. I am a planner and love doing research. Even though birth is very unpredictable, I love being able to inform parents of their options, advocate for them, and be the calm in the storm. I have experience in creating birth plans, different positions to help labor progress, postpartum planning, newborn care, and breastfeeding.

Asia is a dream. She is so loving and professional. I am a first time mom and we chose her to nanny for us while I went back to work. She made me feel reassured about leaving my baby for the first time and I knew she would be safe and well taken care of. 10/10!

Renea Ortiz

4 years of experience

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Renea, and I founded Roots of Radiance from a deep passion for supporting families through some of life's most transformative experiences. As a birth and postpartum doula, mindfulness coach, Certified Medical Assistant, and healthcare educator with more than a decade of experience, I bring together evidence-based knowledge, compassionate care, and a holistic approach to emotional well-being. My journey into birth work led me to support families within birthing center settings, working alongside midwives and witnessing firsthand the strength, vulnerability, and beauty of the transition into parenthood. These experiences continue to shape the way I serve my clients today, with steady guidance, practical support, and a deep respect for each family's unique path. I believe that birth and postpartum are not simply events to move through, but profound rites of passage that deserve thoughtful preparation, meaningful support, and space for personal growth. Whether you are preparing to welcome your first baby or adding to your family, my goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and connected to yourself throughout the journey. Service is at the heart of everything I do. In addition to supporting my clients, I volunteer with families in my local community through Austin Angels, an organization dedicated to providing consistent support and meaningful connections to children, caregivers, and families. As an extension of that commitment, a portion of every Roots of Radiance booking is directed toward supporting the families I serve through these outreach efforts. When you choose to work with me, you are also helping strengthen and uplift families within our community. It is truly an honor to walk alongside families during such a sacred season of life, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Renea was amazing and supportive every step of the way. I’m not sure I would have been so open to changes during birth if it wasn’t for her help to both me and my husband. She was 100% worth the investment!

ANITA HERMOSILLA

ANITA HERMOSILLA

Hi, I'm Anita Hermosilla (she/her), a Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and Community Birth Worker based in Austin, Texas. I provide continuous, holistic, evidence-informed support in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, helping families feel empowered, informed, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. My work is rooted in both professional training and lived experience. I immigrated to the United States from Chile without the support of nearby family or a community to lean on. Becoming a mother while navigating a new country profoundly shaped the way I understand birth, healing, and the importance of compassionate support. I am the mother of three children: my oldest daughter was born through an unmedicated vaginal birth, while my twins were born by cesarean birth and spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Experiencing both an empowering physiological birth and the unexpected challenges of a surgical birth and NICU journey gave me a unique perspective on the many paths birth can take. These experiences taught me firsthand how important it is to feel heard, respected, and supported—regardless of how your birth unfolds. Every family's journey is different, and I believe every family deserves compassionate, nonjudgmental care. Since 2020, I have been a DONA International-trained Birth Doula with additional training in Rebozo techniques, Placenta Medicine, Sound Healing, and Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Circle Facilitation. My work with Mama Sana Vibrant Woman, serving families throughout Central Texas, has deepened my commitment to reproductive justice, culturally responsive care, and supporting families from diverse backgrounds. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, a scheduled cesarean, a VBAC, or simply hoping to feel more confident and prepared, my goal is to help you feel safe, informed, and empowered every step of the way. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you welcome your baby into the world.

As a single mom by choice, I wanted someone who would support me without judgment and help me feel confident throughout my pregnancy and birth. Anita created a safe space where I always felt respected and celebrated. She included the people I chose as my support system and reminded me that my family was complete exactly as it was. Her kindness, knowledge, and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to welcome my daughter into the world

In-Person Support (When Safe/Possible) In-person visits during and after birth Hands-on postpartum help if the doula travels or partners with local doulas (This depends on the provider’s location and travel policies.)
