As a first-time mom, I had so many questions (and new ones seemed to come up every week!), and working with Elmira has made such a difference in my pregnancy experience. Even before our birth, she has been incredibly proactive, checking in regularly, answering every question with patience, and often anticipating concerns before I even think to ask. I never feel like I'm bothering her, and that kind of support has given me so much reassurance during a time that can feel overwhelming. One thing that has been especially meaningful for my husband and me is that we're an international couple. Elmira understands both of our languages and cultures, and she naturally incorporates that into the way she communicates and supports us. It has made us both feel seen, understood, and included throughout this journey. We're genuinely looking forward to taking her birthing classes together because we've already learned so much from her. She has a calming presence, is incredibly knowledgeable, and truly cares about the families she works with. If you're looking for a doula who is responsive, compassionate, and invested in helping you feel informed and confident every step of the way, I wholeheartedly recommend Elmira. We're so grateful to have found her and can't wait to continue this journey with her.

I am a Venezuelan born, Miami raised, queer, cis woman who has always been obsessed with babies and everything birth. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve known that I wanted to work with children and parents. I did everything from teach dance, child wrangle, summer camp counselor, and eventually a full-time nanny. I have worked as a nanny for the last 13 years. I am finally walking the road to becoming a birth and postpartum doula, and I am beyond thrilled to be working with you. My intentions are to bring light, love, safety, and knowledge to families in need of assistance during both birth and postpartum. I believe you should be able to speak freely of any concerns or questions you may have about your pregnancy and newborn. I believe that it is your right to rest and be able to enjoy the journey into parenting, whether it is your first child, or your third.

We cannot recommend Elanor enough. She is an incredible full-time nanny for our family, and has been for the last five years. She handled our first child and then transitioned to handing both when we had our second; she was especially amazing while juggling our newborn and toddler. She is calm, patient, warm, and has never once raised her voice - a quality that has been especially wonderful for our sensitive children. At the same time, she is firm and consistent, sets clear boundaries, and is excellent at discipline in a calm and respectful way. She is incredibly flexible, often staying late or coming early when needed, and even traveled with us on many family vacations, giving us daytime coverage and the opportunity for much needed date nights. She also handles doctor appointments, kids sports/activities, and all the everyday logistics of caring for two young children. She became such a trusted and important part of our family, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her in our children’s lives.

If you wish to contact me and schedule an appointment, please visit my website https://thelaborlounge.org/contact/ Ines Serna is a mother, childbirth educator, and doula with a Master of Health Sciences in Public Health. She became interested in pregnancy and the birth process after having her first child in 2010. Shortly after, Ines started working for the childbirth education department at a prestigious Bergen County hospital, where she gained a great deal of knowledge about maternity services. After the birth of her second child in 2014, she decided to become a childbirth educator. Through her two birth experiences, she realized that the power of knowledge can have a positive impact on birth outcomes. While working as a childbirth educator at the hospital, Ines saw the necessity of giving additional support to her clients. She has trained with DONA International to obtain all the required skills to assist mothers during the birth process. Ines is dedicated to expanding her knowledge by attending maternal and child health conferences, seminars, and networking with health professionals in the community. Ines’s extensive hospital experience has allowed her to see and understand the need to continue advocating for patient-centered care. She believes a patient’s personal preferences, such as values, cultural traditions, family support, and lifestyles, must be taken into consideration. Ines is passionate about supporting expectant parents by making sure they understand that they have options before, during, and after birth. She firmly believes that EVERY woman deserves a good support network. A network that consists of health professionals, along with family, friends, and, of course, the support of a doula, is the greatest gift parents can experience in their lifetime. Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Dalia, and I am a postpartum doula based in NYC. My path to this work began with my own postpartum experiences as a mother of two. The immense joy, the exhaustion, and the emotional ups and downs transformed me in ways I could never have anticipated. During that time, I became deeply aware of how often new parents are not supported in meaningful, holistic ways—how easy it is to feel alone in a season that requires so much care and community. That realization is what inspired me to pursue this work. As a postpartum doula, I support new parents as they navigate the complexities of the postpartum period with care and understanding. Alongside emotional support and a steady, nonjudgmental presence, I offer hands-on help with newborn care, feeding support, light household tasks, and creating rhythms that feel sustainable for your family. Whether it’s answering questions after I'm gone, helping you get a bit more rest, or simply holding space for everything you’re feeling, I’m there to meet you where you are. I believe every parent deserves to feel seen, held, and supported during this tender chapter, and I would be truly honored to walk alongside your family as you welcome new life and find your footing in this new season. I look forward to connecting.

Mia became a part of our family shortly after the birth of our second child. Having hired an overnight doula for our first, we knew this time around, with two little ones under two, we’d need even more support. From the moment Mia arrived, she was extraordinary. She intuitively understood the rhythm of our home and our unique challenges. I trusted her completely with my newborn, which allowed me to give my toddler the attention she needed. Mia provided unwavering emotional support and was remarkably proactive, anticipating our needs before we could voice them. She brought calm and clarity during a time when I often felt overwhelmed, almost like the part of my brain that wasn’t functioning in the haze of postpartum. Whether it was preparing nourishing snacks, offering thoughtful breastfeeding support, or simply being a grounding presence, Mia was indispensable. Her presence during those intense early weeks was nothing short of a gift. I could not recommend Mia more highly. - Aisling S.
