I used Natalia’s doula services for labor and delivery of my 2nd baby in july. She was supportive, encouraging, and very knowledgeable during the prenatal appointments which helped me prepare for labor. She helped me design my birth plan during my prenatal and answered all of my questions. I was so proud of my L&D as I stayed away from an epidural until 1 hr before pushing and I couldn’t have done that without Natalia’s support! On top of that she was balancing another mamma who went into labor at the same time, and she always made me feel like a priority. Her prayers over me as I was in active labor were the biggest blessing. I would recommend Natalia to anyone looking for doula care 😊

Hello / Xin chào! 👋 My name is Hoàng and I’m a full spectrum doula. I provide prenatal, birth, postpartum and reproductive care for all birthing people and their families in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in February 2026 and I’m currently working towards my certification. In the summer of 2025, I became a mom and was privileged to be able to give birth to my son in the comfort of our home. The powerful experience of laboring in the arms of my partner and my mother, surrounded by an incredible team of midwives left a strong imprint on me. I decided to step into the birth care space because I want all birthing people to have the same level of support my people have done for me, who have kept me held throughout labor and nursed me back through postpartum. I am deeply aware of the inequity and challenges facing many birthing people in the US, especially to our black, brown, indigenous and immigrant families. I also realize that the solution does not lie in asking birthing people and their families to “get more educated” and “find more support”. What we need a system-wide policy change that address core issues: guaranteed paid family leave, affordable childcare, and affordable medical care. This work is inherently political, because too many birthing people have been paying the price with their own bodies and babies. Birth work is my prayer that we all receive the love, care and support we deserve, no matter who we are or where we come from. As I embark on my doula journey, if this message resonates with you, I humbly welcome you to come along and allow me to be a companion on your own birth journey. With deep gratitude / Kính thương, Hoàng🌷

We are so thankful to have found Madhu going into my second pregnancy. I was looking for support and encouragement as I prepared mentally for VBAC, and I really felt aligned with how Madhu presented her methods. Leading up to delivery, Madhu instructed me on very specific exercises, movement, stretches, and breath work to optimize my posture and calm my nervous system. We met in-person and practiced these moves together to better prepare my husband and I for labor and delivery. As my due date approached, Madhu kept in touch and maintained such a supportive presence, reminding me that things will happen naturally, and to give my body the time and space it needed for spontaneous labor. I found that her simple and steady communication at this point in my pregnancy had the most value. Her support kept me from doubting myself and allowed me to establish the right mindset. Because I had a C-section with my first pregnancy, I didn’t know what to expect with labor pains or even the onset of spontaneous labor as I was previously induced with pitocin and felt quick intense pain. This time around, my water spontaneously broke (at 40 weeks + 5 days) and contractions started soon after. Madhu met my husband and I at the hospital and immediately went into action by helping me work through positions to manage the discomfort. Keeping an open mind and knowing my experience could still result in another C-section, I really felt comfortable having my support systems in place which ultimately helped my mindset along the way. I truly believe I was able to consequently push through some difficult labor pains. Ultimately I ended up having the birth that I wished for, and I’m so thankful for taking each contraction as a moment to work through! Thank you Madhu!

Second time client of Tias! I first used Tia's services 2 years ago where I was successful with my first medicated VBAC birth. As soon as I received my positive pregnancy test with my third baby, I KNEW Tia was going to be hired again! Even my husband, who was first against hiring a doula, was quick to ask if I already contacted Tia when I announced to him our 3rd pregnancy :) Tia did it again! She was the support I knew I needed for this 3rd birth and with her encouragement and belief in me, I was able to have an unmedicated 2VBAC! According to my husband, this is our last baby haha so I wanted to take advantage of Tia's placenta print she offers. I am so happy I decided on that because Tia made us the most beautiful placenta print which incorporated all three of our children. If another baby were to magically happen for me in the future, Tia will OF COURSE be hired again, without a question! And anyone I know in need of support for their births in the future, I will without a doubt recommend Tia. Thank you TIA!!!

Jenny Schuster

I’m a birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout the Baltimore, DC, Southern Pennsylvania, and Southern Maryland areas. My work is rooted in one core belief: when a mother is deeply supported, nurtured, and cared for, she is better able to care for her baby and step into motherhood with confidence and grace. I specialize in supporting mothers through some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life — including high-risk pregnancies, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), chronic illness, pregnancy after loss, and complex postpartum recovery. My background in psychiatric rehabilitation counseling allows me to bring a unique understanding of emotional health, nervous system support, and compassionate care into the birth world. My approach is deeply intuitive, trauma-informed, and mother-centered. I believe birth is not just a medical event — it is a life-changing human experience that deserves respect, advocacy, emotional safety, and individualized support. Whether I’m supporting a laboring mother through transition, helping a postpartum mother heal after a cesarean, assisting with feeding challenges, or simply making sure a family feels seen and cared for, my goal is always the same: to “mother the mother.” I offer both birth and postpartum doula services, including overnight and daytime support, prenatal education, emotional support, recovery guidance, feeding support, and practical care for growing families. I am especially passionate about helping women trust themselves again after difficult experiences and creating spaces where mothers feel safe, empowered, and genuinely held. Beyond my work with clients, I’m passionate about maternal mental health advocacy, improving the birth experience for women, and creating honest conversations around motherhood, healing, and the realities of postpartum life. My work combines evidence-based education with warmth, intuition, humor, and deep compassion. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that mothers deserve quality care. I loved my experience with Alisha. From the start to the ending. Talking to her about the pregnancy use to bring me comfort. She gave me plenty of resources while pregnant and after I gave birth. During birth she was extra supportive. Even tho my birth plan did not go as plan she stuck by myself my whole c section and held my hand. 23 hours in labor she kept me calm bringing games and everything to keep my mind calm. I just overall appreciate her and if I ever had another baby I would want her as my doula again. 5 stars isn’t enough to rate her. She more like a million stars. Thank you so much for the experience and the comfort you bought through out the experience. And I appreciate you.
