Hi! I live in Springfield Oregon and I’m a mom of 4 and grandma of 2. I’ve wanted to be a doula since before I even knew the name of what the job was. I had assumed you needed a degree and/or medical training to be a birth advocate and as soon I found out exactly how to become a doula I did! I completed my doula and postpartum training in April 2024 through SMC Doulas in Portland and it was a wonderful experience! I was a 20 year old single mom when I had my oldest daughter and I birthed alone, just myself, the nurse and my dr and it was an experience that I never wanted to repeat or have anyone I knew have. I will support you, advocate with you for your needs and desires and be there as little or as much as you need. I will also be there for you postpartum holding your baby so you can shower, washing laundry, doing dishes, making meals, you tell me what you need and I can accommodate you. I can meet with you virtually over zoom or in person. My goal is to keep my doula business small and basically be on call when you need me taking only a couple clients at a time. If you wake up at 3am and need to talk I can accommodate that. Being pregnant, giving birth, having a newborn and being a brand new parent all can be anxiety producing and at the same the happiest times of your life! I understand that completely!!

My name is Aly, and I'm a registered nurse and Board Certified Lactation ​Consultant. I feel strongly about helping new parents navigate the ​challenges of feeding their baby with confidence, education, and joy. I ​want to help you achieve your feeding goals in a way that works for ​YOU! My journey began as a birth photographer and continued as I became a ​labor and delivery nurse. Through my own struggles with breastfeeding, ​I found my passion in lactation consulting. My love for breastfeeding and ​birth work grew from there; I became a Certified Lactation Counselor ​(CLC) and then furthering my education and experience, became an ​Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). When I'm not supporting new parents with feeding their babies, I enjoy ​playing with my two kids, Nixon and Roman and spending time with my ​husband, Ryan, and our family. Whether it's traveling or camping, ​tending to my garden, or gaining knowledge about homesteading on ​my Grandparents' farm, I always find ways to make the most of my time ​with my family.

My love of childbirth was ignited after the birth of my first daughter.  I was blessed with continuous support during my own birth experience and knowing the difference it made for me, I was inspired to be a part of a community of women helping each other through the most transformative and empowering moment of their lives.  My journey began focused on midwifery; however, after learning of doula work and the direct, personal impact it can have on a woman’s birth story, I knew this path was a better fit for me.  As a student of Mother Tree Birth Services, I completed a DONA approved birth doula training in 2014, followed by a 6-month intensive birth doula internship. I support all types of birth in all settings. I’m trained in Hypnobirth, the Mongan Method as well as traditional natural birth methods in addition to planned epidural birth. I will support your choices as if they were my own.

Advocacy, empowerment, and loving kindness are at the heart of what has drawn me to practice. I believe every birthing person, of all backgrounds, deserves to feel confident, safe, and held as they bring new life into the world, are becoming parents, or are making the decision not to become a parent. I am passionate about being an ally to and advocate for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ folks in order to create the safest and loving space for all.
