Greetings! I'm Karisa Totah, a certified birth doula and postpartum doula (through DONA International). I'm also Spinning Babies trained and a Body Ready Method certified Pro. I live in Littleton, CO with my husband, near my best friend and her babies. I serve the Denver Metro area, usually within 25 miles of my home. Birth, babies, and parenting have been a life-long fascination of mine, even since I was little. I nerd-out over the smallest baby and birth details and absolutely adore helping and learning from each new family I meet. I firmly believe that both the research and my experience support the idea that doulas reduce anxiety. The birthing year can be such a stressful one if you don't know what to expect, don't have the support you need, and don't have people watching out for you. I love filling in the gap to educate and empower, support and love, encourage and help you find joy in this journey. have been a doula since 2007 and have had the opportunity to attend a variety of births including medicated, non-medicated, multiples, VBAC’s and home-births. I use many tools to help a woman cope in labor including massage, pressure points, movement, aromatherapy and I am trained in using a TENS unit and have units that I let my clients use for their labor. I love teaching some of the tricks I have learned over the years to the dad and helping him feel a part of the birth. My goal is for the mom and dad to feel like “WE did it” as they hold their sweet baby. I feel passionate about a woman’s power and ability to have the kind of birth experience she longs for. Birth is a beautiful, powerful and natural event. I believe that during labor, a mom needs to surround herself with people that believe in her ability and trust her body and I am always honored when chosen to be a part of that team. I also have a special place in my heart for helping families incorporate their Christian faith in their pregnancy and birth. A woman remembers her birth forever…she may not remember the specific details, but she will remember how she felt. She will remember if she was loved and supported, or if she felt fearful and intimidated. I have no magic powers, but I hope my presence helps those memories be as positive as they can be.

I found my love and passion for supporting families and children in 2002 when I began my career as a Nanny.  I would frequently found myself supporting newborns/infants as a Nanny and chose to transition to a Newborn Care Specialist officially in 2021.  As of 2023, I have supported over 30 families with their childcare and newborn development. In order to bolster my experience and skills, I sought educational opportunities that specialized in newborn/infant care.  I have completed course offerings from Newborn Care Solutions in both Foundational and Advanced levels and am an Elite, CACHE certified NCS; along with being a trained doula and working on my certification for lactation counselor, I continue learning and growing my knowledge through safe sleep courses and many other trainings pertaining to newborns. My name is Courtney Moore Rodriguez. I am a certified lactation educator (CLE), certified postpartum doula (CPD), and certified infant and family sleep specialist (IFSS). I am here to support your family in person (within the Denver metro area) and/or virtually…from the time you find out you’re expecting, through your baby’s first birthday. In those first few weeks and months, it can be hard to ask for help. I am a strong believer in helping families to help themselves (with a good amount of time for rest and self care thrown in too). My name is Lyssa Zawalski, and I am a postpartum doula undergoing certification with DONA. My path towards becoming a postpartum doula was a winding one, with stops along the way as a teacher, social worker, and product manager. While I have found a depth to each of these titles, becoming a postpartum doula has felt like so much more. Quickly after giving birth to my daughter, I realized that I was underprepared and undereducated on what came next. Postpartum was filled with navigating solo parenting, PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), and lack of a “village.” Once enough time had passed and I could more objectively look back at my postpartum period, the most glaring observation was that I had desperately needed help. I needed support in understanding how to feed my baby, what infant sleep looked like, how to find ways to take care of myself (which felt impossible at times). Having a postpartum doula would have changed my postpartum experience as well as the early years of parenthood. I cannot imagine a more tender time to support a family. I truly believe the care and support that we receive in our postpartum period determines so much of how we start our parenting journeys.
