Krissy Triggs is the founder of Trigger Wellness, creator of the True Birth and True Care programs, a birth doula, patient advocate, childbirth educator, healthcare navigator, and former student midwife with more than 20 years of experience supporting families through birth, illness, and complex healthcare decisions. A DONA-trained doula, former student midwife, and lactation educator, Krissy brings a perspective few can match. She has personally birthed 13 children across home, birth center, and hospital settings, including natural, medicated, induced, and medically complex births. Alongside her late husband, a trained midwife, she relocated her family to serve and volunteer at birth centers along the U.S.–Mexico border, where their shared commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care deepened. Having supported families in birth settings while also navigating more than 14 major healthcare systems through her own family's serious medical challenges, Krissy has experienced healthcare from both the provider and patient sides of the system. These experiences shaped her balanced, integrative approach—one that values both evidence-based medicine and compassionate advocacy. Through Trigger Wellness, Krissy helps families navigate birth and healthcare with greater confidence, clarity, and connection. My name is Z’Mezita Talaya and I am a wife and a mother of four children, ages from 3 to 19, and my life has been deeply shaped by motherhood in all its stages. Through my own journey of pregnancy, birth, and raising children, I’ve come to understand how transformative — and vulnerable — this season of a woman’s life can be. Professionally, I bring clinical experience as a Birth Assistant, supporting midwives in out of hospital environments during labor, birth and postpartum. This work has allowed me to hold space women and families in some of their most intimate and powerful moments, blending compassionate presence with hands-on support and practical knowledge.
