Betsy Gillespie

3 years of experience

Hi! I'm Betsy Gillespie. I am a mom of 6, ages 18 down to 4. I have been interested in birth work since high school, and am fulfilling my dream of serving mothers during the precious time of motherhood. I have given birth both at home and in a hospital and I believe women should be free to give birth in the location where they feel the most safe. I am certified as a childbirth educator and a birth and postpartum doula through the Madriella Doula Network. I became fascinated with birth during my first pregnancy when a trip to the library introduced me to Sheila Kitzinger, a cultural anthropologist who studied birth around the world. The idea that "American birth" is not the only way opened up a whole new world to me. Since then, I have desired to see women be better informed of their options surrounding birth. What better way to help along this dream than to serve such women as a doula and childbirth educator! I also am very interested in biomechanics - the idea that the way we use our bodies can affect our long term health. So all of my services include a "movement" component, where we cover ideas of alignment, body geometry, and stretches that specifically address issues mothers face during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Betsy has been a wonderful support to me during the preparation, birth process, and postpartum recovery. She went above and beyond to care for me when I had food poisoning a few days before I gave birth. I was so thankful for her calming and comforting presence during my birth. Without her support, I don’t think I would have been able to do a natural birth. She has cared for me so well and I’m so grateful to have her support during this special time.

I've known Logan 5 years now...and in this half decade, I've seen her grow in her daycare business, as a nanny, and now as a certified doula and post partum sleep specialist. Logan continues to perfect her abilities in all these areas, supporting families professionally and personally, all while still being a support and caregiver to the children in her own family. As a new mom, I've learned so much just in the information she's shared while going through her journey as a sleep specialist. I have used Logan's services and advice during the post partum period. Through this initial sleepless time, Logan successfully got my babygirl on a steady sleep schedule, gave soothing techniques, and helped me better manage my time during baby's sleeping and waking cycles. Ive gotten more rest and housework done around my little's schedule... and I have Logan to thank for all of this! I would recommend her to anyone in need of post partum sleep care ❤️

Kaylee Drennan Goold

Hello! My name is Kaylee and I am a birth doula located in Phoenix, Arizona. I approach pregnancy and birth from a holistic space, believing that these experiences involve your WHOLE self: mind, body, and spirit. I believe birth is less about “powering through” and more about how you work with your body and your emotions. I offer evidence-based care and believe that being educated gives you the best opportunity to make informed decisions for yourself and your baby. I genuinely care about each of my clients and their hopes for their birth. Support is everything in birth. When you have a good team behind you, you’re able to focus on the real work: turning inwards, keeping a regulated nervous system, and surrendering to the process that is birth. If you feel like we may be a good fit, please reach out for a complimentary consultation call! When I’m not supporting my clients, you can find me with my two littles and amazing husband, cooking up delicious meals, painting with acrylics, sewing to my heart’s content (hopefully with a pattern one day), writing satisfactory “to-do” lists, dreaming and planning for the future, and just about everything else!

As a partner, having Kaylee with us during labor was incredibly valuable. She not only supported my wife throughout labor, but she also supported me and helped me stay calm and involved during the entire process. There were moments when things felt overwhelming, and her presence, guidance, and encouragement made a huge difference for both of us. She helped us feel informed and supported while still respecting every decision we made during birth. We are very grateful for everything she did for our family.

We can’t recommend Family Foundations highly enough. From our very first conversation, Bryn was fantastic with communication and went out of her way to be accommodating to our family’s needs. Our care provider Stephanie was incredible. She’s open, knowledgeable, and has such a comforting presence that we felt completely at ease leaving our newborn in her care instantly. A+ experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for care you can trust with your baby, look no further.

I truly can’t say enough good things about Shannon and the support she gave me as my birth and postpartum doula for both of my babies. She is the best support person and an even better advocate. She also made sure my births were the way I wanted them to be. She was even there for my 2nd birth when we were told 4 weeks early I would have to be induced that day. I’m so grateful I got to experience her support with both of my children. If you’re looking for someone who will make you feel heard, supported, cared for, and never alone during your birth and postpartum journey, I couldn’t recommend her enough. ❤️

I found Bryn and the Family Foundations Agency through Carrot. Bryn was exceptionally helpful in navigating the Carrot process as well as providing guidance as to how to best meet the needs of me and my growing family. We used the Family Foundation Agency for nighttime post-partum doula services for our second child. Bryn put us in touch with Stephanie McElhaney and to say she was invaluable to our family is an understatement. We had Stephanie 5 nights a week for the first 6 weeks of our baby's life. Stephanie took such great care of our daughter and taught us some strategies I hadn't known with my first baby that have continued to help us after Stephanie's contract ended. Stephanie was exceptionally helpful in addition to being extremely kind and personable. Stephanie brings an element of calm and confidence with her every night that can be felt the moment she walks in. I was impressed by how flexible she is and willing to try different strategies to see what worked best for our daughter and us. She has a wealth of knowledge and will go out of her way to find solutions to best meet the needs of our family. She also takes very detailed notes of each night, which allowed me to feel confident in what was and was not working for our daughter each night so that we could replicate it on nights Stephanie was not here. Additionally, she helped me to prioritize rest, which I was able to do because I knew our daughter was in the best hands while Stephanie was here. Her kindness and willingness to listen helped me so much in those early postpartum days, especially while navigating the initial jump from 1 to 2 kids. I feel like I really got to enjoy my new family of four and truly thrive rather than be in complete survival mode like I had with my first born. It was such a privilege to have Stephanie with us and we continue to miss her. I would (and do) recommend her to anyone who is considering a postpartum doula.
