I’ve got doula skills and am a birth expert, but what do I really do? I believe birth is a convergence of physiology, energy, spirit, psyche—and the deep wisdom of the birthing person and baby. Around October 2026, I should be able to start accepting insurance. My job? To honor and hold space for it and support it with everything I’ve got. I’m also a four-time postpartum survivor, and that experience lit a fire in me to make postpartum care stronger, smarter, and more supported for every family. My approach is real, grounded, and heart-led. I believe birth is powerful, people are wise, and support should always come with a dose of humor and a whole lot of heart. I have 25 years' experience as a in healthcare providing caregiving, teaching for children in homeschool co-ops and my church. I've been a volunteer doula since 2015. And, in 2023 I started working full-time as a doula specializing in birthing, postpartum, newborn care and lactation. July of 2026, I updated all of my training certifications. I have taking 9 units, in Child Development. I provide Birthing Doula support and after the baby is born, I provide postpartum doula support. I also include lactation support if request. My journey in birth work started at age 12, when I had the unique experience of catching my little sister. At age 22, I started my work as a volunteer doula in Vermont, serving members in the community who lacked support. My early volunteer work gave me a deep understanding of how hospitals function, and how to work with medical staff towards the best possible outcomes for parent and child. In 2023, I was trained and certified through DONA, with mentorship by Penny Bussell Stansfield and Dr. Teri Nava-Anderson. Having been through two training programs has given me a diverse range of strategies to draw upon in our prenatal planning sessions and during your labor and birth! I have been honored to participate in many birth stories, each with unique circumstances and goals. I have experience supporting medicated and unmedicated vaginal births, scheduled and emergent Cesarean births with first, second, and fourth-time parents, queer parents, low-income parents, autistic parents, non-native English-speaking parents, sexual assault survivors, people with depression, and parents of color. I am a member of the queer community and this has strengthened my belief that all bodies deserve respectful, compassionate, and culturally humble care.

I used to be a nurse in Brazil for 16 years. I would like to proceed in this area because I have always enjoyed working with prenatal and natal stages, including babies aged 0-6 months in the hospital. I decided to concentrate more on being a doula since it encompasses more of what I love to do. I have worked as a combination of an at-home nurse and post-birth baby care for mothers fresh out of the hospital. But since moving here instead of being a nurse again, I have decided to be a certified doula.
