My path to birth work started with attending an abortion doula training as a college student, which led me to realize my passion for supporting people through the entire spectrum of pregnancy outcomes. After going on to work as a teacher, nanny, and union organizer, I completed my birth and postpartum training through Maternity Care Coalition’s Community Doula and Lactation Program. Hello everyone, my name is Fatima! I have been in the birthing world for a little over a year. I would love to say I chose this field, however it chose me! Being 1 or 6 girls, I had been to my fair share of births. I also battled with Postpartum depression, which lead me to doing postpartum work.
