I am an experienced birth doula who has supported many mothers and families through pregnancy and birth. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, which shapes the way I support labor—especially through understanding how babies navigate the pelvis and how movement and positioning can make a real difference. I support both mothers and fathers as they prepare for and move through birth together. I’m also a mother of four, and I spent nine years living in Boise, where much of my experience and passion for birth work grew.

Hiring Stephani as our doula was one of the best decisions we made for our first pregnancy and birth experience. My husband and I were both new to labor and delivery, and we were hoping for an unmedicated birth while also wanting extra support and guidance throughout the process. We especially appreciated Stephani’s background in exercise science and how knowledgeable and practical she was during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. One thing that really stood out to us was how balanced and supportive she was about birth preferences. While we were hoping to avoid an epidural, we appreciated that Stephani was never rigid or judgmental about it. She talked through the realities of labor in such a calm, practical way and helped us feel confident that whatever decisions needed to be made in the moment would be okay. Her labor and delivery prep sessions earlier in pregnancy were incredibly helpful, especially for my husband. We wanted him to feel empowered and supported too, and Stephani did an amazing job helping him understand how to support me while also giving him reassurance and validation throughout the process. When labor started, my husband texted Stephani early in the morning and she responded immediately. She came to our house at 5am, helped us figure out when it was truly time to head to the hospital, and once we arrived, she helped us get settled quickly — even making sure our car got parked safely while we got checked in. Once we were in the room, she immediately created such a calming environment with lights and getting the bath ready, which was especially appreciated because my labor ended up being very fast. During labor, Stephani provided amazing physical support while also intentionally stepping back at times to let my husband take the lead. She made us feel completely in control of our own birth experience while still offering expertise and guidance exactly when we needed it. She also captured photos and videos throughout labor and delivery that I absolutely treasure. After we brought our baby home, Stephani continued checking in and supporting us. She also connected me with a fantastic lactation consultant, which ended up being incredibly helpful postpartum. We truly cannot recommend Stephani enough. Having her by our side made us both feel more confident, supported, and cared for throughout the entire experience.

Mariah Field

Hello and congratulations on your new little one! I’m Mariah Field, Certified Birth Doula and the owner of The Juniper Birth. I was born and raised in Idaho, and I am honored to walk alongside women as they embark on their journey into motherhood. My passion for birth work began when my son was born at home in April of 2022. Not long after, life took an unexpected turn when he needed a life-saving bone marrow transplant at just six months old. Then, in September of 2025, we faced the heartbreaking loss of our baby girl to the same condition. Those experiences changed me forever. They taught me so much about life, loss, compassion, advocacy, and the importance of trusting a mother’s intuition - lessons I carry with me into every birth space I enter. Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most sacred and transformative experiences a woman can have. My hope is that every family I work with feels supported, informed, and empowered to trust their bodies and their instincts every step of the way. I don't even know where to begin to explain how amazing it was working with Mariah. When we found out we were expecting our second baby we knew we wanted to have a home birth. Our first was born in a hospital without a doula, so I knew this would be a very different experience and I really wanted a doula to support me through my birth. I asked the midwife I was working with if she had any recommendations for doulas who would be a good fit for me, and she gave me a list of a few and Mariah was one of them. Which that in itself says a lot, I really trusted my midwife's judgment, so I reached out to Mariah, and we set up a consultation visit. I had a few other appointments set with different doulas but after meeting with Mariah I had to cancel them because I just knew I wanted to work with Mariah right away! My husband wasn't fully on board with hiring a doula as he didn't really understand what they helped with, but after our birth he was so happy that we hired Mariah to support us through such a beautiful home birth- and I know it felt that way largely because of how Mariah guided us through the entire birth. The night I went into labor I texted Mariah, and she came super quickly, she set everything up so beautifully for us, and helped me with different positions, different pain management techniques, and most importantly to me she helped guide my husband to support me as well. After birth Mariah made me a delicious meal, and made sure everything was set up for me to have a good and smooth postpartum experience. She is such a sweet and amazing human being- and not to mention her birth photography is amazing!!! I'd definitely recommend hiring her to photograph your birth as well as her being your doula- those are photos I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you so much Mariah- you were such a blessing to our birth experience, and now to our life.

As soon as I became pregnant, I started looking for the best ways for support. After all this was my first pregnancy and I’ve heard from my sister how amazing her doula made her experience. I found Carli, at meet and greet event for doulas. She was the first person I met with that day, and I instantly felt that Carli should be MY doula. She was amazing!! She exudes confidence!! I knew she’d be a great support for me during labor and delivery, I just never fully understood until it happened. She spoke kindly, and empowering words towards me. When I felt scared or too tired to keep going she reminded me how far I’ve come and how close we were to meeting our little girl. She really never left my side. She was the ultimate support, constantly sending me positive energy and encouragement. Reminding me that I can do this. She comforted me, and guided my husband to feel confident in his role during labor and delivery. from teaching him counter- pressure techniques when I was in early labor, to educating us on hospital procedures to prepare us for the ideal birth experience. My favorite thing she said was “it’s temporary the feeling of discomfort is temporary, you’re so close to meeting your baby girl.” She captured precious moments, and put together the absolute best birth video that my husband and I will cherish forevermore. I’m so happy Carli was my doula throughout this entire experience, I can’t express enough how comforting and empowering having her by my side was, as I went through such a life changing experience.

For all of history, up until the last century or two, birth was a uniquely feminine and sacred event supported by midwives, mothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors. Mothers were given the space, trust, and respect to intuitively birth their children, just as their bodies were designed to. In the 20th century, the modernization of birth care, intended to increase safety, unfortunately pushed labor support out the picture. Doctors became more concerned with outcomes alone than with the transformative experience of birth, itself. The emergence of doulas in the developed world was a desperate and necessary response to the all-too-common technocratic birthing model that has changed society’s entire view and practice of giving birth. The culture of non-medical labor support is thankfully not lost. Women deserve the same sanctity, respect, and space to do what their bodies know best now, as they did for all those centuries. I believe supporting the birth experience in its traditional light is my calling.

Sariah is the perfect mix of every trait you could want in a doula. Fun, lighthearted, sooo deeply compassionate and empathetic, exceptionally knowledgeable, excellent under pressure, and full of passion for and belief in birth. She has so many tricks up her sleeve to keep births moving along, help resolve positional issues, and increase your comfort during labor. She also has amazing herbal knowledge to support all stages of the process. Sariah was a godsend at both my homebirths. She perceived my needs before I ever expressed them. She kept me fed, watered, cool and comfortable. She provided counter pressure with an endless well of patience and strength. She took care of me during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with such love and I am forever grateful! Also: she is a baby whisperer and is amazing with kids of all ages! You won’t find a more capable, knowledgeable or passionate doula. I highly recommend her to every pregnant momma 💗
