Marie Nowacki Ford

7 years of experience

Marie is a DONA trained Postpartum doula with over a decade of newborn and infant care experience. Through her experience as a nanny, she fell in love with helping families through the journey of parenthood. She witnessed firsthand how chaotic life can be through pregnancy and after birth. She became a doula to help families navigate the stresses of new parenthood and enjoy their lives together with their new baby. Marie aims to guide families through the entire journey into parenthood with a gentle, holistic approach. She specializes in hands-on education, physical and emotional support, feeding assistance, sleep training, cooking, and household organization. Her goal is to nurture parents in this vulnerable and intimate time, and empower them to care for their new child with confidence. A full fridge, clean home, and person to talk to can make all the difference! She also provides antepartum support to assist with birth planning, getting ready for baby, and any additional needs in the final trimester of pregnancy. Beyond educational, physical and organizational support, there is a strong focus on emotional and mental health when working with Marie. She has a trauma-informed and inclusive approach; becoming a parent is a huge shift in identity and deserves to be treated with immense care and respect. Her education and experience allows her to assist with single parents, parents of advanced age, families who have experienced chronic illness, loss, eating disorders, anxiety, and sexual abuse. Marie also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community. When not working with families, Marie spends time with her baby boy and husband playing with their two rescue dogs. She loves to cook healthy plant based meals and listen to audio books! She is also the co-founder of Newborn Nanny Consultants LLC which helps match families with qualified nannies.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Marie. She was a lifesaver for our family during the early postpartum days with my daughter. The nights Marie would come and help were what my husband and I most looked forward to during the week because we knew we'd have trusted support and that we would get much needed sleep. She was very flexible with her schedule and was always able to work with us to find the best timing for her to come help with overnights. Marie was a loving and confident doula and I always knew my daughter was in good hands with her. Marie was always open to having conversations with me and workshopping ways to improve naps, nighttime sleep, bottle feeding, pumping, etc. with me and I don't know that I would have been able to do things as well without her. In my struggle with postpartum anxiety and depression, nights were tough for me because I often felt a debilitating loneliness when I was feeding my daughter or up pumping. I cherish the nights we had with Marie because she helped take that loneliness away and it made me more confident as a mother. She is the absolute best and I highly recommend her!

Hello! I am a DONA International certified postpartum doula who has lived in Colorado since 2010. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Health Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have extensive experience supporting, educating, and nurturing families in different childcare capacities for the last 16 years. I have a penchant for postpartum and newborn care and am passionate about supporting families as they transition into parenthood being it with their firstborn or fourth! I always strive to meet families' needs with ease, flexibility, and warmth. On top of newborn and postpartum support I also can help as a Sibling Doula with older sibling childcare while parents welcome their newest additions to their family. My own experiences with pregnancy, birth, pregnancy loss and motherhood are what inspired me to embark on the journey of supporting others navigating their perinatal experience. I have trained with and am a member of The Institute of Birth, Breath and Death and can provide trauma informed bereavement and loss support. Holding space for others who are walking the path of grief during the most sensitive times is a skill that I hold dear to my heart. For my own wellness I love doing yoga, camping in our popup with my family, escaping to the beach, baking, and you can always find me curled up in a good book. I look forward to learning more about your family's needs!

Alyssa is absolutely amazing! Her kindness and warmth immediately put me at ease, and her expertise with babies made me feel so secure and comfortable, whether during daytime hours or overnight shifts. Beyond being incredibly reliable in general, she has a remarkable ability to "take charge" the moment she walks through the door, and instinctively jumps in to handle things without me needing to ask. On top of all that, she even helped with meal prep and cooking, and the results were always so delicious--having homemade meals during a time when I was physically unable to cook was such a gift. Her support just exceeded my expectations and hopes in every way possible. All in all, I can’t recommend Alyssa highly enough. She was an absolute lifesaver during a crucial time, and helped make it both less stressful and more joyful!

Hi, I’m Kristin (she/her)! As a certified Birth and Postpartum doula and a mother of five, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role. I purchased a birth doula package from Kristin. We had the free consultation (video call) and two prenatal visits and one post partum visit in my home. My husband (which was also my support person) attended the visits, too. It was important to her to include my husband in the conversations because she wanted the three of us to be a team, which I think is great! Kristin provided us detailed information about the labor process, gave us handouts to refer to and she also showed me stretches/workouts that I can do to prepare for labor. She answered all of our questions and provided resources. She went through a detailed questionnaire with me which helps to create a birth plan and also prepares you to think about the ‚what if situations‘. My water broke at home and my labor progressed very quickly. Kristin arrived very fast at my home. She helped my husband pack up the car (incl. our toddler) and she was with me in the car and helped me stay calm and focused on laboring during the 20-30min drive. I was so thankful to have her with me. I would have panicked but she convinced me that we are making it to the hospital - and we did. While I was birthing, there were lots of questions and voices from different nurses and doctors. But Kristin was next to me and she would repeat what they said and I only focused on her voice. Kristin took photos once the baby was born and I am so thankful for them. She stayed with us for a bit and then checked with us when it was ok for her to leave. Throughout the pregnancy and post partum Kristin checked in with me or I could ask her a question and she would give me resources. My husband and I are thankful that we found Kristin and we would totally work with her again! I highly recommend her!

Hi! My name is Linnell and I am so excited to work with you! I am a Certified Professional Doula which means I am trained in birth and postpartum support. I am a birth, postpartum, and breast cancer doula, childbirth educator, nanny, photographer, and breast cancer model and advocate. My passion is supporting families from conception through age 5. I am currently pursuing a graduate certificate to become a lactation certificate to get my IBCLC and I am also working on my Perinatal Mental Health Certificate through Postpartum Support International. Working with me as your postpartum doula is like having a big sister who is there by your side to help guide and teach you. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Linnell was great! Helped us so much in the transition to become new parents, from advice, to tips on calming the baby, and helping us sleep between feeding stretches. She helped us triple feed and follow exactly the peds orders; she was also awesome about remembering any adjustments or requests we had! Checked in on both my mental health but also my partner’s, which was very nice, especially in the immediate postpartum period. She kept a running list of my baby’s activities during the night—from wake periods, poops/pees, feeds and how much he would take from the bottle. Great about offering advice and letting us make the decisions. Overall, a very sweet, calming, and accommodating doula. She really tries to go above and beyond to make sure the whole family feels taken care of (including my pup)!
