Hello! I stumbled headfirst into the birth world through a non birth related podcast. After hearing the host’s birth story I was awestruck. I needed to know more. The more I learned, the more I felt called to this work. I firmly believe that everyone has the right to reproductive justice, to birth the way they want to, and to be able to define their birth experience their way. Choosing your birth team is one of the most important choices you can make during your pregnancy. I completed my formal birth doula training with Childbirth International in 2024 but have been practicing since early 2023. What sets me apart is my background as an engineer. This background when combined with my birth doula training gives me the unique ability to take in information (the cues you are giving, your words and actions, your progression, your outlook on the situation, and the care providers words and actions) and move forward with a plan for the next few moments, and then reassess and move forward once again.

have been a doula since 2007 and have had the opportunity to attend a variety of births including medicated, non-medicated, multiples, VBAC’s and home-births. I use many tools to help a woman cope in labor including massage, pressure points, movement, aromatherapy and I am trained in using a TENS unit and have units that I let my clients use for their labor. I love teaching some of the tricks I have learned over the years to the dad and helping him feel a part of the birth. My goal is for the mom and dad to feel like “WE did it” as they hold their sweet baby. I feel passionate about a woman’s power and ability to have the kind of birth experience she longs for. Birth is a beautiful, powerful and natural event. I believe that during labor, a mom needs to surround herself with people that believe in her ability and trust her body and I am always honored when chosen to be a part of that team. I found my love and passion for supporting families and children in 2002 when I began my career as a Nanny.  I would frequently found myself supporting newborns/infants as a Nanny and chose to transition to a Newborn Care Specialist officially in 2021.  As of 2023, I have supported over 30 families with their childcare and newborn development. In order to bolster my experience and skills, I sought educational opportunities that specialized in newborn/infant care.  I have completed course offerings from Newborn Care Solutions in both Foundational and Advanced levels and am an Elite, CACHE certified NCS; along with being a trained doula and working on my certification for lactation counselor, I continue learning and growing my knowledge through safe sleep courses and many other trainings pertaining to newborns. Our journey included feeding challenges, a g-tube, postpartum depression, and a long road to bonding. It wasn’t easy, but it cracked me open. It made me realize how much support matters. Not just medically, but emotionally, spiritually, and human to human. That’s why I show up the way I do—as a birth, postpartum, and sibling doula who’s committed to creating a space where people feel safe, respected, and never alone.
