I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Ruby White

Bristol, Connecticut

Ruby White

8 years of experience

Ruby White has been a certified full spectrum doula for 8 years. She completed the in-person portion of her certification in Brooklyn, NY with Doula Trainings International (DTI). Serving birthing people and their partners as they go through the major life transition of becoming parents has been her joy since 2018. Her goal is for parents to feel empowered in the entirety of their experience – to be able to ask for the support they desire and to receive it while trusting their body’s ability and the physiological process of birth. Ruby’s strength as a doula is her empathetic, holistic, and inclusive approach, as well as her versatility. She has served families in all types of birth scenarios – hospital, birth center, homebirth, with medication and without. As a doula, her deepest wish is that all patients receive comprehensive and compassionate maternal healthcare, as well as hands on comfort measures and a nourishing presence in their birthing and postpartum spaces. Whether she is providing massage and hip squeezes in labor or assisting with the first latch of breastfeeding - she is honored to be present for every step of the journey. She will always advocate for your birthing preferences to be respected and is committed to showing up with a kind ear, an open heart, and caring hands to serve new families and their babies. Above all, she will hold space for your birth to feel beautiful, safe, intimate, and sacred, always with a dash of humor! When she is off duty, she enjoys singing, acting, writing poetry, being in nature/with animals, and spending time with her family.

Monica and Alexis are godsends. We will be begging both of them to work with us again when we have our second child! Alexis was our postpartum daytime doula three days a week. She started with us as soon as our son was born, and we ended up extending her contract an extra month because we (and our son) couldn’t bear to be without her! She treated our baby as if he was her own; she is his favorite person in the whole world. She did a wonderful job providing mental health support to both myself and my husband, all while still somehow finding time to cook us delicious meals! Monica was our overnight newborn care specialist. She gave a great sense of security and relief to our family. She was originally scheduled to start 8 weeks after our son's birth, but we begged her to start sooner and she kindly squeezed us into her busy schedule. As a first-time parent, I really appreciated the countless times she provided me invaluable guidance and encouragement. Her network of fellow doulas, baby chiropractors, IBCLCs, babysitters, etc. have also been very helpful. Overall, I wish I could give them both 10 stars! :-)

Michelle Edwards has been an absolute blessing to our family. She is calm, kind, and extremely knowledgeable, and she instantly made us feel confident and supported during those exhausting newborn nights. Michelle was attentive, reliable, and always respectful of our preferences while offering helpful guidance when needed. She went above and beyond by thoughtfully organizing our baby’s clothes, which was such a huge help during an already busy time, and she also took the time to offer gentle sleep-training advice for our three-year-old, which we truly appreciated. Because of her care, we were able to truly rest knowing our baby was safe and well cared for. We are so grateful for her support and would highly recommend Michelle to any family looking for exceptional night nanny care.

Birth never gets old to me. It’s always beautiful, surprising and full of hope and promise. Over 23 years of being a doula, I’ve seen so many amazing people become parents and new babies join us- some of whom are grownup now! My philosophy is that, you know yourself, and I believe in your ability to make the choices that are best for you and your family at your birth- my goal is to support you during the process, answer questions, help you make informed decisions when presented with unexpected circumstances and help with practical solutions to issues such as a baby who isn’t in an optimal position, social/emotional issues and needs, supporting your partner and other children and animals and more. I bring tens of thousands of hours of time spent with people in labor worth of knowledge to you and your birth, and whatever you choose- epidural, unmedicated, induction, cesarean, etc makes no difference to me, I will support you through whatever you choose, help you achieve your very best outcome and make sure you are safe and validated throughout. You are all my life’s work, and I’m grateful to be trusted with your care.

Diane Sirpenski

Hello parents! I am a newborn care specialist and postpartum doula. I have been working with infants for over 30 years. I am originally from England . My passion is supporting families as they welcome new littles into their home.

Re: Diane Sirpenski/Newborn Care Specialist To Whom It May Concern: I am writing in regard to Diane Sirpenski, whom I have known and hired as my newborn care specialist for all three of my kids. I believe Diane is the best and always my FIRST choice for the above cited position. I have known Diane since November 2017, when I first hired her as the newborn care specialist for my first-born son who is now 2.5 years old. Her position with us lasted about 12 weeks wherein she provided nighttime care for our then 2-month-old son. She would show up promptly at 10:00 pm, (NEVER TARDY!), always easing my nerves being that I was a first-time mom. Diane always answered all my first-time mom questions and always had super helpful tips handy. She was very up to date with the latest trends and knowledge regarding baby care so I knew I could trust her advice. She took detailed care notes throughout the night regarding feedings, diaper changes, and sleep periods. When I got pregnant with my twin girls in February 2019 Diane was the only choice for me. I reached out to her immediately to securely lock in her help! She got me through my first few months with my first born with so much ease, I knew I needed her around for my biggest challenge yet. Throughout my pregnancy, Diane often reached out to me to check in and chat. She sent me twin tips and intel she gathered from all her vast experience. She was of course up to date on all the must haves to alleviate the first few months with newborns. Even though I had a relationship with Diane from my prior pregnancy this certainly helped establish and further our relationship. This was important since she would be spending a lot time with us once the babies arrived. Diane showed up on our first night home with the twins at the end of September 2019 and immediately dove into the task and challenges of a nighttime routine with not one newborn but two! She showed skill, expertise and most importantly compassion towards the girls and the position. She quickly became part of our family and we loved having her around. She showed the same professionalism as she did when we met her the first time around- always punctual and reliable. Her hygiene paralleled that of a nurse, which of course is a top priority. I had restful nights knowing the girls were in great care. Newborn twins are as tough as it gets- and she made it look easy. The girls started sleeping through the night at 6 months old and never wake each other up. We have Diane to thank for helping us get through it. In summary, I would highly recommend Diane as the BEST choice for any newborn care specialist position and strongly encourage any family to jump at the opportunity in hiring her. Please free to contact me should you have any specific questions regarding Diane’s qualifications. I would be more than happy to further discuss her outstanding qualifications.
