Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Outside of my work, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I enjoy reading and playing video games, and I have two cats and a leopard gecko. I have a Facebook page for my business where I regularly post at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069593215044&mibextid=ZbWKwL

I can't begin to say enough good things about Cari. From the moment we first began messaging, to our first meeting, all the way up to the amazing unmedicated birth of our second daughter. We are not strangers to an unmedicated birth, as that is what we did with our first daughter, but Cari helped make the experience with our second not only even better but much calmer and secure all around. Cari was informative in not just the potential outcomes of the birth we WANTED, but she made sure to take the time to cover what-if scenarios. What we were looking for in a Doula was someone who was willing to take the time to get to know us well before baby #2 was born, but also someone with a kind vibe/aura (IYKYK), who could advise us on some additional labor coping movements and massage/pressure points, and she did all of the above plus more. If we have another baby, she will undoubtedly be our Doula again. I genuinely recommend her on all levels. Even after our daughter was born, she stayed with us in the birth center for hours until I felt well and recovered enough for her to leave us (and this was past 1 am). She captured some absolutely precious, beautiful, and raw photos of our birth, on top of doing a newborn photoshoot for us. Themed and set where we wanted, yet again surpassing all expectations. She includes postpartum support as well, and she is so sweet when she came for her postpartum visit, she brought a batch of the most AMAZING lactation cookies ever (and might I say they sure worked for me!!). Cari will undoubtedly take the time to listen and form a plan that you want while informing you of all possibilities and taking care of you like a member of her own family, honestly. And who doesn't love a fellow nerd? Look no further. She IS the doula for you. THIS is the sign you're looking for.

I don't even know if I can truly put into words just how thankful I am for Andie and her family of doulas at Little Blue Elephant... but I'll try. Being a new mum to a beautiful little girl, living on the other side of the world with no village, support or family and a husband that travels weekly for work - it's easy to feel overwhelmed, tired, anxious and honestly, a little bit lonely at times. My husband hiring Andie to help postpartum, has been the best decision we could've possibly made. I often tell Andie that she is a real life angel. Watching her, and honestly, her whole entire family, be so calm, nurturing, attentive and kind to my daughter at every single interaction, always makes me feel so at ease that she is being cared for by the very best while I get a restful night's sleep. The way Andie has held and continues to hold me and my family during postpartum has been nothing short of amazing and I will be forever grateful for her. From advice on c section recovery, feeding, burping, pumping, reflux, gas, bathing, diaper rash, naps, schedules and more - she always goes above and beyond and has always offered a wealth of knowlege, without judgement, while confidently answering any question or concern I may have. Washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts, folding baby girl's laundry, labeling bottles, feeding and soothing my daughter to sleep throughout the night, changing diapers, administering medicine or cream if needed and taking the time to really check in with me mentally each visit... The care is truly second to none. Andie and her family have become my villiage and I couldn't be any more grateful for each and every one of them. Andie always arrives early and is willing to do an extra shift or stay a little longer or start earlier at short notice if needed... I know that I can always count on her which can be really rare to find. She's super accommodating, incredibly reliable and has amazing communication skills - sending overnight reports via text as soon as she leaves in the morning so I know exactly how my daughter's night went and when she is due to wake, feed and be changed next. Andie truly is just an all round wonderful human to be around and her care extends well beyond just getting a restful night's sleep. I always look forward to having a chat with her when she arrives, not just about giving her updates on my daughter, but as a friend catching eachother up on how the week's been and what is going on in our lives... something that has really been invaluable for my mental health postpartum and living so far away from home and family. Andie is our regular postpartum doula each week but I have also had the pleasure of meeting and working with all the doulas from Little Blue Elephant - Jamie, Ali and Aleks... all of which have been just as wonderful, and I also feel like it needs a mention, that every single one of these ladies have been incredibly kind to our animals too. I will never forget Jamie's kindness the first night of having overnight care. She was warm and kind and sat with me for almost an hour talking about my birth and genuinely wanting to know how I was feeling mentally. She gave me comfort and reassurance when I needed it most and she made me feel so safe that I genuinely felt like I was chatting to an old friend. In between taking care of my daughter and loving on her, she also took the time to make me a personalized Amazon store front so that I could easily look at items to purchase that she felt might help me and my daughter. Since then, Andie has also added to the store front with many other great reccomendations. I appreciated this so much as being a new mum, I didn't have the time to do this myself, nor did I know what I should be looking for. Jamie still checks in every now and then to ask about how my daughter is doing and wishes me happy holidays - and every time it makes me feel so special to be thought of and cared for. She has an incredibly kind heart and what a joy it is to be around her... what a joy it is to be around them all. I cannot sing the praises of each one of these ladies enough. If we get so blessed to have another child, I've already told Andie that I want her by my side for the entire journey - from prenatal to the birth to postpartum. I value and trust Andie and her wonderful family implicitly, and would not only highly reccomend their postpartum doula service, but also every single other service they have to offer. Thank you for absolutely everything, Andie. I literally don't know what I would do without you.

Tamara Niedermann

hi! i’m tamara niedermann, owner and creator of the kindred feminine. i’m a witness and student of birth and birthing people and it’s an honor to be invited into your birth story. i’ve always known i’m at my best when i’m in support of the people around me. that desire for deep relationship is what has guided my journey to birth work, herbalism, and supporting the birthing and bleeding people in my community. when my younger sister and her husband started their parenting journey, she started sharing the things she was learning about pregnancy and labor. as i watched her pregnancy unfold i learned there was another way. it took the books and documentaries i found, and new perspectives i was learning to show me that doulas, and midwives, and placentas, and breastfeeding, and herbal baths are all a beautiful and sacred part of pregnancy and birth. since then, a deep passion has grown from within me to teach others this new way to know our bodies, experience our menstrual cycles, and conceive and birth our babies. the kindred feminine serves all birthing and bleeding people through education; teaching bodily literacy, contraception, or conception through the fertility awareness method, and pregnancy and childbirth education; walking alongside people in their conception journeys, and in their pregnancies and their births; and creating medicine through processing placentas and herbal offerings. i'm a bisexual cis woman of color who uses the pronouns she, hers, and her. i’m a newlywed in my thirties. i'm the daughter of an immigrant single mother. i acknowledge that Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) have much worse reproductive outcomes than their white counterparts. i'm an advocate for all birthing people no matter their race, sexuality, gender, or size. i'm a birth keeper, and an herbalist. i make placenta and herbal medicine, and hold space for those who i have the privilege of serving. grace and peace and many blessings on you.

A Little About Me 💛 I'm Maribell, a proud mom of two wonderful boys, a wife of 12 years, and a passionate birth professional. I moved from Perú to the United States, beginning a beautiful new chapter in my life. During those early years, I devoted myself to raising my boys, learning English, embracing a new culture, and building a home for my family. Before moving to the United States, I trained and worked as a midwife in Perú, supporting mothers and babies in both hospitals and private practice. My passion for maternal care has remained close to my heart, and here in Central Florida, I have continued that calling as a doula, childbirth educator, and birth assistant at planned home births. Throughout my journey, I have intentionally pursued specialized certifications and training in physiologic birth, optimal fetal positioning, body mechanics, breastfeeding support, and postpartum wellness. I believe learning never ends, and my goal is to continue growing so I can offer families compassionate, knowledgeable, and evidence-informed support. With approximately 15 years of experience in maternal care, including nearly five years supporting families in Central Florida, I've learned that every pregnancy, every birth, and every family's story is beautifully unique. As both a mother and a birth professional, I understand how meaningful it is to feel heard, respected, informed, and genuinely supported during this transformative season of life. Through Chaska Midwifery & Wellness, my heart is to walk alongside you, helping you discover your strength, build confidence, and prepare to welcome your baby with love and trust. Catherine was a fantastic doula and such a wonderful source of support throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She was always calm, caring, and easy to talk to, and from the very beginning, I felt like I could talk to her like a friend. When I had fears and concerns about labor, she was always responsive, kind, and supportive, helping me to feel heard and reassured. I had underestimated how much support I would need postpartum and how challenging recovery and breastfeeding would be. Catherine brought over meals and snacks and spent time with me as I processed my birth experience. Her kindness and presence made such a difference during a difficult and vulnerable time, and I’m so grateful for her support. I would highly recommend Catherine to anyone looking for a doula!
