Lacie Faber

Lacie believes every mother deserves an experience—both in birth and postpartum—where she feels respected, supported, and confident in what’s happening around her. As a certified birth and postpartum doula and co-founder of FaberFam LLC, Lacie provides steady, evidence-based support so families can approach both birth and early parenthood with clarity instead of fear. She is known for helping clients understand what’s normal, make informed decisions in the moment, and stay grounded—even when things feel intense, uncertain, or overwhelming. Lacie combines hands-on skill with a calm, attentive presence. During labor, she is continuously assessing progress, using positioning and comfort techniques to support the body’s natural process, while helping partners stay involved, confident, and connected. In the postpartum period, her focus shifts to helping families find their rhythm—supporting feeding, sleep, and daily flow so life with a newborn begins to feel more steady and manageable. Families who work with Lacie often say they felt “anchored,” “prepared,” and “never alone.” Whether navigating the intensity of labor or the transition into early parenthood, her focus remains the same: helping you feel supported, informed, and at peace with your experience. As your doula, Lacie provides: • Continuous, in-person labor support so you’re never navigating alone • Skilled positioning and comfort techniques to support progress and coping • Clear, real-time guidance so you understand what’s happening and what your options are • Partner coaching so your support person feels confident and helpful • Calm, steady presence—especially during the most intense moments • Daytime postpartum support focused on recovery, confidence, and adjustment • Guidance on feeding, newborn behavior, and what’s developmentally normal • Hands-on support with baby care and light household reset • Gentle rhythm-building to create more predictable, manageable days • Support preparing for transitions, including returning to work If you’re looking for support that is both compassionate and highly skilled, Lacie’s approach is designed to help you feel prepared, supported, and confident—from birth through the early weeks of life with your baby.

Lacie was a great help during my first couple months postpartum. She has a calming and nurturing presence. She gave great tips for sleep and soothing techniques. Our daughter has reflux, and Lacie was always attentive to her needs, keeping her upright after feedings and contact napping with her when needed to help ease her symptoms. She took wonderful care of our daughter and made sure my husband and I were able to get the rest and support we needed. Thank you Lacie!

Jenn Carlson

14 years of experience

Hey there! I'm Jenn Carlson, your friendly neighborhood doula! I call Springfield, VA home, where I live with my husband, Eddie—a rock musician who moonlights as a film critic. (Or maybe it’s the other way around? Either way, there's a lot of passionate reviews in my house!). I spent over two decades as an IT pro and a stage manager before diving headfirst into my most exciting production: raising two amazing daughters. Both of their births were high-drama—think less "rom-com" and more "medical thriller." But those experiences sparked a fire in me to help other women feel empowered during labor, and thus began my journey as a doula. Since 2013, I've been lucky enough to attend over 700 births and help nearly 300 new moms recover through the magical art of placenta encapsulation (yes, it’s a thing and it’s awesome). I'm a CBI and DONA Trained, Madriella Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Childbirth Educator, an AHA Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR instructor, a certified Reiki practitioner, and a placenta encapsulation specialist. Whew, that’s a mouthful! My goal? To be whatever my clients need. Natural-minded or more into the medical approach, I’m here to make sure you have the birth experience you want—with all the options on the table. My definition of a successful birth? One where the mom feels respected, empowered, and ready to write her own birth story, no matter how her baby arrives. Because education is key, I teach breastfeeding, infant CPR, newborn care, and childbirth classes. I've got experience with Bradley and Hypnobirthing techniques, and I bring along my trusty rebozo and TENS unit to help families through labor. I also have special training to support moms who have experienced trauma or loss, and a big, soft spot for high-risk mothers like me who need to know they have options. So whether you’re looking for a bit of guidance, a lot of support, or just someone to laugh with while you figure it all out—I’m here for you!

Jenn possesses a unique blend of deep, evidence-based knowledge and genuine empathy, which was evident in every interaction. She took the time to understand my preferences, fears, and hopes, and tailored her support to fit my birth needs. Whether it was providing invaluable information quickly over text, offering comforting words during labor, or simply being a supportive presence throughout my birth experience, Jenn was there every step of the way. Jenn’s skill in managing both physical and emotional aspects of labor was remarkable. We felt incredibly empowered with her was by our side. She ensured that my experience was as positive and respectful as possible. Her ability to read the room, adapt to changing circumstances, and offer practical solutions made all the difference. While my birth didn’t go how I had envisioned due to unforeseen complications, I felt incredibly supported and advocated for throughout the process. At every significant decision point, we discussed and weighed the options. Jenn made sure to inform me on what is or would happen and why. In the end, I believe the decisions I made during labor were the most well-informed and safest options for the baby and me. I feel positively about my birth experience because of Jenn who was a light and guide during the process. If it weren’t for her being my doula, I’m sure I would have had a traumatic labor in which I would have continued to regret my choice in provider and hospital. We are profoundly grateful for Jenn’s commitment to our well-being throughout the pregnancy and labor experience.

As a young child, I found my way to birth before I had language for it. At five years old, I was guiding my dolls through labor, sitting with them, speaking softly, staying close. I didn’t understand what I was doing then, but something in me already knew. There was a quiet pull toward women in this moment of becoming. As I grew older, that pull deepened. I became fascinated by the power held in pregnancy, birth, and the early days after. The way a body carries, protects, and nourishes life. The way a baby makes their way into the world. The way a mother changes forever once they meet. It felt sacred, ancient, and deeply familiar. I often imagined myself surrounded by ancestors and loved ones, witnessing prayers and dreams taking form as new life arrived. What followed birth felt just as powerful to me. Watching a mother soften and strengthen at the same time. Watching intuition awaken. Watching love root itself in ways that cannot be taught. Mothers and babies choosing one another. A love story that begins again and again. For years, I was visited by dreams. Women from all walks of life birthing their babies. In each dream, I was there. Holding hands. Offering comfort. Showing up in a way understood only by women and the spirits who have always walked with us. The dreams didn’t stop until I finally listened. I became a certified birth and postpartum doula and stood alongside more than two hundred families. I have been a sister, an aunt, a steady presence in moments of fear, release, and joy. I’ve wiped tears, celebrated feeding breakthroughs, and watched parents grow into themselves. To be clear, I don't possess any special power; I merely hold the flashlight as parents navigate and uncover their own. Beyond my work, I am a mother to three humans who shape me every day. My oldest is deeply nurturing, a true revolutionary who speaks with power and purpose. My son teaches me how to slow down and feel, how to think bigger, how to trust what feels impossible. And my youngest, known by her Ghanaian uncle as “The Queen Mother,” leads with her whole spirit. She chases the wind, climbs trees, jumps in puddles, tends the garden, and mothers our chickens and ducks with ease. Favorite things: The roar of the ocean Barred owls calling at night A truly binge-worthy show Deep, uncontrollable laughter Friends who don’t take life too seriously

I wear many titles with pride — Wife, Mother, Lactation Specialist, Licensed Massage therapist (LIC#R03337), Student Midwife, and Author. But at the heart of it all, I’m simply someone who is devoted to women’s health, healing, and empowerment. My passion for nurturing others comes from a long line of generous souls — my mother, my grandparents, whose kindness and selflessness shaped who I am today. My grandfather devoted his life to serving his community, and my grandmother has always been the quiet backbone of our family, giving from the heart without hesitation. Their example taught me that true generosity is showing up for others with love and presence, and that principle runs through every part of my work. I’m a proud graduate of the Holistic Massage Training Institute, where I began my journey into bodywork and holistic healing. Over the years, I’ve specialized in prenatal, fertility, infant, and postpartum massage, helping women release physical tension and rediscover balance in their bodies. I also help many clients find relief from chronic neck and lower back pain, drawing on more than four years of therapeutic experience. In 2020, I founded a private practice specializing in pregnancy and postpartum manual therapy. Over the years of practice, I have helped over 300+ women relieve pain, improve mobility, and prepare for birth. My educational journey has included studies at Anne Arundel Community College and Western Governors University, and midwifery studies through the National College of Midwifery while apprenticing under several licensed midwives. I have attended over 50+ births in a mix of hospitals, home births, and birthing centers. My calling toward birth work was born of my own motherhood journey. My first childbirth experience showed me the power of a supportive birth team, but my second reminded me how deeply a lack of support can impact a woman. That moment became the turning point that led me to dedicate my life to women’s wellness — ensuring that every woman feels seen, supported, and cared for during one of life’s most transformative experiences. In 2022, I was honored to receive the Good Heart Award from The Shades of Blue Project during Black Maternal Health Week, recognizing my commitment to uplifting and caring for families in the birthing community. My work has also been featured in publications such as Motherly, Beauty Boost Baltimore, and Voyage Baltimore. Every client I serve, every birth I attend, and every family I serve is an extension of that same legacy of care that was passed down from my family. I’m here to create spaces where women feel safe, nurtured, and empowered to trust their bodies — because generosity, to me, is the act of helping others remember their own strength.

Having Medina by my side was the best decision. Doing our pre labor meetings a month before definitely made me more comfortable with Medina and my husband also was more comfortable. We both loved having Medina as part of our journey. Two months postpartum and I absolutely I am so blessed that Medina was there. Medina truly and genuinely cared for my baby and myself. I can’t even put it to words how supportive Medina was. I loved her quick responses even at 2am! Her guidance. I’m so glad she’s a doula and I hope she becomes a midwife.and I will be recommending Her to everyone I know. I Love her and misss her!!!!!!

My name is Hannah and I’m a birth and postpartum doula. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education and taught kindergarten until my son was born in 2020. Although my role adjusted when becoming a mother, a fire was ignited through my birth experience, and I started researching how I could make a difference. After my daughter’s redeeming home birth in 2022, I knew that becoming a doula was a tangible way I could impact mothers and the next generation for the better. By providing emotional support, evidence-based information and physical support, I strive to make the family’s life changing, transitional time a smoother one. I am trained through DONA as a birth doula and Lifespan doulas for postpartum work. Besides classroom experience, I also have nannied for several families over the past few years. It is my goal as your birth or postpartum doula to make you feel seen and heard. In my free time, you can find me spending time with my kiddos outside, serving at our local church, grabbing coffee with friends, going on family walks or experimenting in the kitchen.

Hannah was able to provide me with virtual and in person support for the birth of my baby. She quickly responded to any question I had and gave me clear, practical information tailored for me. She shares your emotional journey in a way that makes you feel empowered and validated for any feeling or question you may have. She is sweet, knowledgable, and comprehensive about what she knows. She is prepared with lots of different ideas for pain-reducing techniques during the natural birth of my baby as well as providing alternatives when needed. She displays an assertive, yet respectful bedside manner and advocates to the doctors and nurses with for your best interest. She checked in frequently and even reached out many times after my baby was born to check not only on the baby, but also me as well to see how I was doing physically and emotionally. She took lots of time to help me find out an answer to a pain I was having after birth and resolve it. She is easy to talk to and understanding of what you are going through. I would highly recommend hiring Hannah Wright to be your doula.

Dale was my instructor through the MaternityWise Doula Program back in 2018. The moment I spoke with her, I knew I’d chosen the right path. She kept in constant contact and made sure I was fully prepared for class. Her teaching went beyond the binder—she shared the real ins and outs of the doula business, the birth experience, and answered every question. She opened up about her own life so we could see how being a doula fits into everyday life. One experience changed my life: Dale walked me through attending my first birth and gave me the confidence to take charge. She was also present for the birth of my last baby in 2019. When she arrived, she immediately made me feel calm and empowered. The doctors and nurses respected her so much—they even waited for her to arrive before breaking my water and asked for her approval. It was such a powerful moment. It was an honor that she cut my baby’s cord. Dale is the best and will always have my family’s love and respect

I’m a birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout the Baltimore, DC, Southern Pennsylvania, and Southern Maryland areas. My work is rooted in one core belief: when a mother is deeply supported, nurtured, and cared for, she is better able to care for her baby and step into motherhood with confidence and grace. I specialize in supporting mothers through some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life — including high-risk pregnancies, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), chronic illness, pregnancy after loss, and complex postpartum recovery. My background in psychiatric rehabilitation counseling allows me to bring a unique understanding of emotional health, nervous system support, and compassionate care into the birth world. My approach is deeply intuitive, trauma-informed, and mother-centered. I believe birth is not just a medical event — it is a life-changing human experience that deserves respect, advocacy, emotional safety, and individualized support. Whether I’m supporting a laboring mother through transition, helping a postpartum mother heal after a cesarean, assisting with feeding challenges, or simply making sure a family feels seen and cared for, my goal is always the same: to “mother the mother.” I offer both birth and postpartum doula services, including overnight and daytime support, prenatal education, emotional support, recovery guidance, feeding support, and practical care for growing families. I am especially passionate about helping women trust themselves again after difficult experiences and creating spaces where mothers feel safe, empowered, and genuinely held. Beyond my work with clients, I’m passionate about maternal mental health advocacy, improving the birth experience for women, and creating honest conversations around motherhood, healing, and the realities of postpartum life. My work combines evidence-based education with warmth, intuition, humor, and deep compassion. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that mothers deserve quality care.
