Hiring Josie from Living Water Doula Care for my second C-section was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My first C-section was an emergency and left me with significant birth trauma and anxiety that I didn’t fully understand until my second pregnancy, but then I met Josie and she completely transformed my experience. Before my C-section, she helped me process my first birth and identify where my trauma was rooted. She also helped create a calm, peaceful home for me to return to after delivery. On the day of my C-section, Josie was my anchor, and recognized my anxiety even when I tried to hide it and made sure my concerns were heard. I was terrified of the spinal, but she advocated for me with the medical team and encouraged them to explain each step, helping me feel safe and informed. Her calming presence changed the entire atmosphere of the room. She also supported my partner, a first-time dad, helping him feel included and at ease. After surgery, I experienced intense pain, and Josie continued to show up for me, even coming to the hospital in the middle of the night. She helped me manage my pain through breathing techniques, physical comfort, and emotional support. When I felt overwhelmed after being moved to a smaller room, she once again advocated for me and helped me feel safe. Coming home was just as meaningful. Josie had prepared my space, making it feel warm, peaceful, and restorative. Her postpartum care helped me slow down, release guilt, and focus on healing. Josie doesn’t just support birth—she honors it. She didn’t just support me through my C-section; she helped me heal from past trauma. Before hiring her, I wasn’t sure a doula was necessary for a C-section. Now I can confidently say it was one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made. Because of Josie, I no longer fear growing my family, and I’m forever grateful for the role she played in my healing journey.

We had the pleasure of having Amanda as our doula and can’t say enough wonderful things about her. She was the calm and gentle presence I needed during a very long labor. She was everything I needed, from guiding my husband to know how he could help me, position changes and mental support. We also did her birth class, which was wonderfully educational and made me excited to welcome my baby into the world!

I am a veteran of the United States Air Force, spouse of a military retiree, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), and La Leche League Leader (LLLL). I completed Associate of Arts in General Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degrees from American Military University. I am certified in BLS for the Provider and trained in AED use. My husband and I have seven children. It is because of them, that I am where I am today. I am not only educated on the birth process and utilizing comfort measures for pain relief, but also have personal experience. I had two births using epidural pain relief. Five of my births were medication-free. My breastfeeding journey with each of my children was different. Every journey was different because every baby was, and each had their own challenges. (The parent may know what they are doing, but the baby needs to learn.) My experiences with each of my children taught me many things about giving birth and human lactation throughout the years. Helping birthing and lactating parents meet their own goals is my goal. As a CBS, IBCLC, and doula, all of my education and experience will help me to provide families compassionate care throughout the birth process, postpartum period, and lactation journey.

Mary came over when my son was first born because he wouldn’t latch. We got him to latch when she came to the visit and he has been doing well ever since. She also has come over to do a weighted feed for my son so we could figure out how much he’s eating, he is exclusively breast fed. Then, she came over to help with bottle refusal. Mary is extremely reliable and makes time out of her schedule to help her clients. I definitely recommend her.

If you are on the fence about including Bridgette in your birth and postpartum journey, let this be your sign to absolutely do it. As a first time mom, she provided care and love for me and my family in ways I didn’t even know I needed. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes a team based approach in every decision. I had no qualms or hesitations about placing my trust in her because at the end of the day I knew she had my back all the way from her birth/breastfeeding classes to every step throughout labor. Although my birth experience did not go the way we had planned, I wouldn’t be able to look back at my experience as positively as I do if not for her. She genuinely felt like a big sister and best friend throughout the whole experience. Even my husband, as he recounts our birth experience, sings her high praises and felt incredibly supported by her as well. Because of her, he even goes around telling new parents that they have to get a Doula because of how amazing Bridgette was. I genuinely feel like we were meant to cross paths and now my life and experience as a parent is better because of her. Seriously, she’s amazing. You would be remiss not to have her on your team.

We had an amazing experience having Grace as our doula! She carries herself with confidence and joy as she helped us navigate preparation and birth. Grace always made herself available to me as a first time mom who had lots of questions. She was quick to respond and willing to help me learn! I think one of the many blessings from Grace, was that in our delivery room she created a really peaceful and beautiful environment by setting up a diffuser and candle lights in the room! Grace was a really valuable part of our first birth experience!

Hey there! My name is Naomi Carrington. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator in Louisburg, serving the greater Raleigh Triangle area. I'm passionate about childbirth, mamas, and babies, and I've dedicated my life to helping families experience a birth and postpartum beyond their expectations. Birth does not have to be seen as a fearful thing, but something women were designed for. Living overseas has helped to shape who I am today and the services I offer. Over the past few years I have mainly attended home births which is my 'happy place'. But no matter where you plan to deliver, I guide my clients in preparing both their minds and bodies for labor and offer full informed support of their choices. A few things that I impart to families are: education, the importance of body balancing, whole food diet and mental preparedness. Knowledge is power and a big part of what I do. Over the years, I have attended over 85 births and taught several classes. In my free time you can find me reading, working out, enjoying an iced coffee, working in the garden, with our many animals or cooking in the kitchen. I am from a big family and love making memories with them! I'd love to connect and discuss how we can meet your goals for your dream birth, postpartum or class experience!

Having Naomi be there for my second birth was a huge blessing. She helped me be even more confident in my body and myself to be able to achieve the natural birth I was going for. She helped guide me to do certain stretches and exercises to help baby be in the optimal positioning for birth. She made my birth as enjoyable as a hospital birth could be.

I’m a certified postpartum doula and a proud mother of four amazing kids , with a lifelong passion for caring for children and supporting families. I’ve been around infants and children for as long as I can remember, and caring for little ones has always come naturally to me. Becoming a parent is one of life’s most beautiful experiences, but it can also come with exhaustion, uncertainty, and a lot of adjustment. My goal as a postpartum doula is to help make that transition feel easier, calmer, and more manageable for the entire family. I provide compassionate, hands-on support while respecting each family’s parenting style, routines, and individual needs. I believe that parents deserve to feel supported and confident—not judged or overwhelmed. The safety and well-being of every baby in my care is my highest priority. I strive to create a calm, nurturing environment where babies feel safe, comfortable, and loved, while parents get the rest, reassurance, and support they need. It is an honor to be welcomed into a family during such a special and vulnerable chapter of life, and I truly love being able to make those early days with a new baby a little easier.

We trusted Bernadett with our first, and she's the reason we didn't think twice the second time. When we found out baby #2 was on the way, there was no search, no comparing, no interviews. We just called Bernadett. That says everything. A second baby is a whole different experience. You're not just recovering and caring for a newborn, you're also trying to keep life steady for the little one who's already here. Bernadett understood that without us having to explain it. She stepped in exactly where we needed her, so we could rest, heal, and still give our older child the attention they deserved during such a big change. What stood out most this time was how she supported our whole family, not just mom and baby. She brought calm into a house that could easily have felt chaotic, and somehow made everything feel manageable. Having her there again felt like having someone in our corner who already knew us and genuinely cared. If you're expecting your first, your second, or beyond, Bernadett is the one you want. We're so grateful she's been part of both of our babies' first chapters.

October 2026

Hiring her as both my birth and postpartum doula was one of the BEEESTT decisions I made for my family. From the very first meeting, she made me feel truly heard, respected, and supported. Throughout my pregnancy and labor, she honored every decision I made, kept me informed every step of the way, and brought a calm, steady presence that helped me feel safe and comfortable, even in the most intense moments. After our daughter arrived, she cared for her with so much love and tenderness. I trusted her completely from day one and never hesitated to ask her anything. She's warm, easy to talk to, and never once made me feel judged. She's incredibly knowledgeable, deeply kind, and the definition of professional. I'm endlessly grateful she was part of such a special, life-changing time for us. If you're looking for a birth doula, a postpartum doula, or support with anything in between, look no further. You'll be in the best hands.💛

Bernadett has a sweet and vibrant personality. She has been a delight to work with. As a new mom, I truly appreciated how her wisdom, passion and gentleness brings comfort and grounding to my new family. She supported my family and I through online consultations and product recommendations, both pre and post natal. It was so helpful to have her insight and experience in preparation and during the newborn trenches and beyond. I would highly recommend her, and give a 10/10 stars for her services. She provides invaluable feedback and is a wealth of knowledge.
