I am a mother of 4, tree hugger, bread baker, and avid crocheter. I have been in the birth and postpartum would since the age of 12. I believe in compassionate judgement free care and meeting families where they are. I believe in arming parents with knowledge to empower them through the incredibly journey that is bringing a baby into the world. From hip squeezes to night time feeds I can do it all.

I cannot recommend Doula Lacey more highly! I met Lacey around the 15 week mark of my pregnancy with my sweet little girl. We clicked and after speaking with my husband we decided to move forward with her. And thank goodness we did, because just 10 weeks later my water broke preterm and my girl made her entrance into the world at 25 weeks 5 days. Lacey was quick to respond throughout the week as I was experiencing symptoms of early rupture, when I was admitted to the hospital, and when I very quickly and surprisingly gave birth. She provided excellent support and insight on what the hospital process would entail for my husband and I who had planned to have our daughter in a birth center and were now working with providers we did not know in a space we wouldn’t have chosen. She was quick to travel & get to the hospital the week I was admitted as things changed every hour. And she has continued to provide incredible support for us both postpartum as we have begun our journey into NICU parenthood. Having a doula was something I always prioritized, and having such an unpredictable and scary birth experience made that even more clear. And Lacey was right by my side either physically or verbally every step of the way. We are so thankful for her & she is such a special part of our daughter’s story.

With nearly 20 years of experience supporting new and growing families, I bring to my clients a sense of grounded calm, evidence-based education, and the confidence that together, we can navigate anything that may come up in the unpredictable journey of birth! I have a deep understanding of physiologic birth and ways to support that, as well as a healthy respect for medical interventions when needed. I connect quickly and personally with my clients, support families of all constellations, and am super passionate about providing non-judgemental and trauma-informed support.

You can’t quantify the kind of thing Jenna does. It would be inappropriate to place something like this in any kind of metric so I won’t. Instead I’ll tell you what happened. I’ll try to be brief but I make no promises. Ours is not a new story. Planned for a home birth, ended up transferring to the hospital after 30 hours of labor, finished with an emergency cesarean. What was supposed to be sunshine and rainbows turned into a 4 am car ride and 4 day stay far from home; unfamiliar, unforgiving, unexpected. I’d like to tell you about how great Jenna is for a homebirth but I can’t speak on that. I can say for certain that once we were in the medical system Jenna shed her civilian costume and the cape came out. (For sake of transparency this is metaphor, Jenna does not actually wear a cape, unfortunately…) A doula is a sort of custodian for the birthing experience, or maybe like a steward. Jenna’s familiarity with Mission’s system is beyond reasonable expectation. I mean, she’s on a first name basis with many of the nurses and plenty others I didn’t see. Nobody likes going to a party where they don’t know anybody. It wasn’t like that. It was more like we crashed a party with the most popular kid in school. Things kept happening to our advantage that in retrospect had to be the result of orchestrations behind the scenes. Jenna knows the system well enough to play it. This is not where her skills end. She somehow knows exactly what is needed before it is needed. She knows what we’re feeling before we can say it. She knows what we’re afraid of and knows exactly what we need to hear. Most of all, when the already rough waves got huge, she moved through the water like an Atlantean. We would have drowned without her. When the beeping got louder and the nurses stopped whispering and started shouting Jenna looked at me and told me what was happening. It might have been telepathic, maybe I was just reading her face. When things got blurry and I couldn’t see, I felt Jenna’s hand on my shoulder, it made it easier to breathe. When the love of my life was rushed out and all the nurses and doctors started running and but my legs all of a sudden didn’t work, Jenna got under my arm and carried me. When I was alone waiting to hear if I would be allowed in for the surgery my greatest concern would have been for my wife but the fear was fleeting because I knew that Jenna was in there with her. When they did let me in and handed me this strange naked creature and I didn’t have a single clue what to do and my wife was still unconscious, Jenna was there. Jenna knew what to do. In the following days when our baby was screaming and I couldn’t figure out what he needed, Jenna was on the phone checking in. Now it’s almost 4 weeks since and Jenna was just here, making sure everything was right. I can’t say how great Jenna would have been for our home birth because that didn’t happen. What I can say is that if you want to be prepared for anything, Jenna should be on your team. There are other doulas who offer the same things Jenna offers. There is only one person who can do what Jenna does the way Jenna does it.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Joey, for 18 years. We have been blessed with 3 girls and 1 boy during that time. We also experienced the heartbreak of miscarriage, and the joy that our rainbow baby brought to our whole family. I have loved all things relating to birth and babies for as long as I can remember. I drew a picture when i was very little, showing me being a “baby nurse.” Having had 3 hospital induction births and 1 spontaneous natural hospital birth as well as being high risk for the majority of my pregnancies, I understand the medical side of pregnancy and birth. I also loved each of my births, for all of their similarities and differences. I never had a professional doula. For my first birth I was blessed to have my mom and an amazing nurse help me. They rubbed my back, had me change positions, breathed with me, and helped me achieve the vaginal birth I wanted. I did not have this for my other births, and I wish I had had someone there to help me focus, it would have made it easier and more relaxing. I was able to successfully breastfeed all four of my kids. I breastfed anywhere from 18 months to 3 years old, depending on the kid and their needs. I have dealt with almost all of the typical breastfeeding hurdles, including a baby that had multiple food intolerances that changed my diet drastically. I have learned from each of these circumstances and hope that I can pass along my wisdom and encouragement to other moms. As a doula I have experience with both natural birth, induction birth and c-section moms. I also have worked with NICU families and pumping moms. I also have personal experience with cloth diapering, baby wearing and co-sleeping. Over the years as I have read and researched, I believe that as women we need to be more in awe of how our bodies work and are capable of birth. Because of this, I decided to also become a childbirth instructor. I want more moms to be able to advocate for themselves and understand their bodies and the birthing process. I believe every mom, no matter the situation, can have an amazing birth.

Hi, I’m Racine, a birth and postpartum doula.I work with capable, high-functioning women and their hardworking partners who want to be amazing in labor but are juggling full lives, full calendars, and a million responsibilities. You’re reading the books. You’re taking the classes. You’re doing everything people say will make you ready. But birth is unpredictable and when intensity rises, information doesn’t automatically turn into action. I prepare partners for childbirth to be steady, confident, and clear without having to tell him what to do or how to support you constantly so that you can focus on bringing your baby into the world. Because in labor, you shouldn’t have to run the room. You deserve to be supported by someone who already knows how to lead. Choosing Racine as my birth doula was an absolute game-changer. From the moment we met, her unwavering support and wealth of knowledge put me at ease. She provided invaluable education throughout my pregnancy, ensuring I felt confident and empowered as my due date approached. What truly set her apart was her dedication to building a supportive team around me, seamlessly coordinating with my partner and healthcare providers to create a holistic birthing experience. Racine’s presence during labor was a calming force, offering emotional and physical support every step of the way. Her expertise not only eased my anxieties but also enriched the entire birthing process, making it a deeply fulfilling journey. I cannot recommend her highly enough for her exceptional care and dedication. I also wanted to add that I was not a very happy pregnant woman during my pregnancy, and I had a lot going to going on in my marriage and work life. Racine didn't judge me and encouraged to to seek counseling and also referred me to a great postpartum doula who made my transition to motherhood a breeze. I can't say enough about Racine. She has a heart of gold and anyone who hires her would find that out quickly. Please hire her and you will not regret it. I wanted to add that since I couldn't come up with the money all at one time, she did put me on a payment plan and that was nice and comforting.

I wish every new parent had the amazing benefit of hiring Lacey for postpartum services!! She is not only a warm, grounded, nurturing person, but an incredible cook, organizer, and so much more!! We have been working with Lacey since the day our baby came home two months ago and with a five year old also at home, having Lacey’s help has been a game changer. It’s made such a difference for our whole family! She is a total self stater yet also open to direction/preferences and will follow your lead with that. She’s done everything from come up with recipes, grocery shop, make meals and snacks, to using our recipes, freezing meals, doing our laundry, organizing and cleaning around the house and our five year olds chaotic toy messes. One thing really notable about Lacey is she takes so much initiative!! She somehow finds most things she needs at our house on her own and knows what what would be helpful before we do! What a gift during a time of life when you have little brainpower to figure those things out. I call her Mary Poppins times ten!! We will always be grateful for the role she’s had in our lives during this time. Reach out to her ASAP!
