Greetings to you all! My name is Ana and I am a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Counselor & Student Midwife located in the Kansas City Metro Area. I believe education in this field is continuous, not just from all the various certifications alone but from experience in how to lovingly handle the range of possible outcomes of birth. The perinatal time is precious as it cannot be recreated. It is the foundation on which the family's future healing is built, and careful empathetic care during that time can positively influence the way the family heals and integrates. Thus, I help my clients discover what they want and facilitate learning & a plan to accomplish it. My services are designed and tailored on an individual basis, specific to each unique pregnancy and desired birth experience. Embracing the whole and not just the parts to offer you the support you need to birth as you choose and to help you facilitate the right atmosphere for a calm & peaceful birth.

Lizzy was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Before becoming a doula, she got a degree in Psychology at the University of Kansas in hopes of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, but all these ambitions changed when she was expecting her first child in 2022. She fell in love with pregnancy and birth and knew she was called to become a doula. Just as Lizzy felt educated, supported, and empowered in her own birth, she hopes to help mothers and their families feel the same. She received her birth doula training through the Global Education of the Midwife (GEM) and is currently pursuing education to become a postpartum doula through Lifespan Doula.

Lizzy Goulden is not only professional, but she is compassionate towards mothers and babies. Lizzy is knowledgeable in perinatal care and extensively researches information regarding the health and safety of mothers and their babies. Lizzy is skilled in providing quality, informative care, guiding mothers to make the best decisions regarding their pregnancy and birth. Lizzy is comforting and reassures mothers at the most vulnerable stages of their lives. I seek her advice not only in my personal life, but professionally at the my position of employment, a maternity home for young mothers.

For me the presence of Aneliz was priceless, her experience with labor and her experience inside and outside the health system were very important and reassuring. Aneliz also brings her Christian Faith into the process, which for my wife and I was extremely helpful. Also, her Spanish speaking was hugely helpful for my wife. We can´t recommend her enough."

What we talk about in session depends on what your goals are. We work collaboratively- I am not a therapist who is going to nod and say “mmmhmmmm” or ask you to “tell me how that makes you feel” to everything you say. I understand therapy is a time and a financial investment and I want it to be useful for you. Your treatment also includes my collaboration with your other care providers such as your OB/midwife, psychiatrist, etc. Clients tend to reach out for my help with EMDR treatment of birth trauma, their NICU experiences, fertility struggles, and relationships. I am also honored to work with clients who have/are experiencing perinatal loss or are pregnant after perinatal loss(es). I have found that I work very well with women whose own parents were nonexistent, absent, had substance use issues, or were emotionally/physically abusive. Together we talk about what your experience of being parented was like and how it impacted you, and then make a plan for how you want to parent. Also, if you already know that you are predisposed to postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) by having depression, anxiety, or trauma, we will begin counseling while you are pregnant to reduce your risk of PMADs in the postpartum period.

I'm a social worker by education. I've spent the last 14 years working with low-income families to empower and encourage sustainability and health literacy. I became interested in birth work when I began working on a project to reduce infant mortality. I realized that many birthing persons do not realize all of the decisions that they have to make before, during and after birth. And that they do, and should, have a say in all of these decisions. I want to help families make informed choices that will enhance their birth experience and bring a healthy person into the world safely. I am super invested in helping folks secure their breast/chestfeeding relationship. Whether you are the birthing person, the adoptive parent, the non-gestational parent or just a supportive partner, we can talk about how to make your lactation journey successful. I successfully induced lactation for my first daughter as the non-gestational parent and am really excited to be able to share my lactation knowledge and journey with others. Trainings: Certified Birth Doula (DONA), International Board Certified Lactation Counsultant (IBCLC), Certified Spinning Babies Parent Educator (SBCPE), Certified Child Birth Educator, Child Passenger Safety Technician, Parents As Teachers Educator, Licensed Master Social Worker I live in the midwest, 2 cats and 2 daughters.

Hi, I’m Amber Hulme! I’m a wife, a mama to one amazing little boy, and a devoted follower of Jesus living in the heart of Overland Park, Kansas. Life around here is beautifully full—between chasing after my toddler, supporting my community, and savoring a good cup of coffee (or two), I’m continually reminded of God’s grace in the everyday. I have a deep passion for walking alongside women in the sacred season of postpartum. Whether it's through a listening ear, a warm meal, or simply reminding you that you’re not alone, my heart is to serve with gentleness and joy—always pointing back to Christ as our ultimate source of strength and peace. When I’m not working or it's nap time, you can usually find me curled up with a devotional and a latte, catching up with friends, working out, or spending quiet time with my husband. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s walk this journey of motherhood and faith together.

I am a mother of 5 and Dede (grandmother)to one darling little girl. I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am an animal lover with 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue pigs! I love to cook vegan meals and enjoy taking traditional meal recipes and making them vegan! I have a huge heart and am very sensitive to my environment and those around me in an intuitive way. I LOVE people and am genuinely curious about everyone I meet. I have been told my whole life that I am a good listener. I also have unique perspective on life and situations in general. During stressful events, I am a pillar of strength, calm and stoic. I help those around me stay grounded. Maybe that makes me sound boring, but I assure you I am anything BUT. My sense of humor will keep you laughing (releasing oxytocin) through labor. Until you get to the part where you need quiet. I have an uncanny ability to "read the room" and blend in to the background if that's what best suits the situation. I connect and attune quickly and effortlessly to my clients. I have been a doula for about 20 years. When I was in the thick of motherhood myself, I knew that I needed a career where I could help people during life's transitions. My business took off and here we are. Over that course of time, I have served hundreds of families and have trained hundreds of doulas too!

Heidi was a wonderful doula, and ensured that I had a beautiful birth experience with my youngest son. If I could go back in time, I would have asked her to accompany me with my two older boys. One of the most valuable things she did was to guide my husband in caring for me and supporting me. I felt loved, seen, cared for and safe with her looking out for my family.

I’m a work from home mom and I had my first baby in June of 2023! My husband and I have been married since 2022 and we’ve grown up in Kansas City our whole life. I’ve been passionate about birth since I saw my mother birth her last two children about 10 years ago and noticed how much women need advocates and support during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum! Since then, I’ve been trained as a doula through GEM (Global Education of the Midwife) and have been pursuing a postpartum doula course as well. I hope to provide my clients with all the information necessary to empower them to make informed decisions about their birth plan/goals. If a client is open to it, I also love my Christian faith and try to implement that in areas of my work as well.

Theresa was very kind and always willingly to answer any and all questions regarding childbirth I had, especially as a first time mom. I’d highly recommend her as your doula as she is informed, attentive, and very flexible!!!
