Experiencing a high-risk pregnancy during the height of COVID opened my eyes to how much support is often missing for women during pregnancy and birth. That experience inspired me to become an advocate—helping women find their voice, feel confident in their choices, and stand firm in the care they deserve throughout their birthing journey. As someone who is half Brazilian and half Portuguese, family is at the heart of everything I do. It brings me so much joy to support women as they grow their families in ways that feel right and meaningful to them. After teaching classroom music and violin lessons for over 13 years, I decided to become a HypnoBirthing Certified Educator when my 3rd HypnoBirthing baby was born. Darcy Sauers is a postpartum doula certified by DONA International, a Certified Lactation Counselor, and the founder of Dover Doula. Since 2010, she has helped hundreds of Seacoast families through the tender first weeks of new parenthood. She's also a certified Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Birth Method instructor, and she lives in Dover with her three grown children. Hi, my name is Kimberly. I am the manager of Gentle Beginnings LLC. I started my birth doula career back in 2020. I was a new mom and realized I had a passion for doula care and I decided to jump into it! Unfortunately, the pandemic made it quite difficult to attend births in person but that didn't stop me. Over the years, I learned many new families didn't just need a support person through birth but also for all the phases that followed. Currently I'm working towards my pediatric sleep consultant certification. My business partner, Evelyn, has 30+ years of experience as a nanny and newborn care specialist, and has recently been certified as a postpartum doula as well. We both decided it was time to start a new company that offered all the services!
