I don’t even know where to begin in describing how grateful I am for Petra and the incredible support she gave me, my husband, and our son born in April 2024. She was, in every sense of the word, the doula of our dreams. We call her our 'fairy godmother.' We were first-time parents who truly didn’t know what we were doing. Petra walked into our home with a calm, reassuring presence that immediately made us feel safe and supported. Petra never made us feel judged or inadequate — instead, she showed us step by step how to care for our newborn, starting with the first step into our house from the hospital, and my question of, "umm, so where do I put him?". From there, she patiently taught us all the practical skills (feeding, burping, bathing, diapering, soothing, etc.), as we had no idea what we were doing. All the books I read while pregnant did not prepare me for the real thing. Petra prepared us for the real thing. More than the “how-to,” Petra gave us peace of mind. She answered every question with kindness and expertise. She normalized our fears, reassured us when we second-guessed ourselves, and reminded us that we were doing a good job. She also cared for us as parents. She encouraged us to rest, to eat, and to breathe. Her presence lifted so much of the anxiety from those early days and gave us space to bond with our baby rather than drown in uncertainty. Petra was everything we hoped for in a doula: knowledgeable, nurturing, reliable, compassionate, and endlessly patient. She went above and beyond. I can say without exaggeration that she helped us survive and truly enjoy those first weeks as a new family. Suyin also contributed to the post-partum support of our family as my lactation consultant. You really just don't know how difficult breast feeding is until you try it! Suyin helped me with latch, positioning, and confidence. Her visits at our home were comfortable and stress-free, and she helped turned breast-feeding into something I could actually enjoy. I can’t recommend her enough!

As a mother of three, I understand firsthand the beauty and challenges that come with the postpartum journey. My work as a postpartum and birth doula is rooted in deep empathy and genuine care, qualities that have only been strengthened through my experience raising a special needs child. I bring calm, nonjudgmental support to families as they adjust to life with a newborn, offering both practical help and emotional reassurance. Over the past several years, I have supported families through both hospital and home births, navigating many different birth experiences and outcomes. Hi, I’m Tisa. I am a certified labour and Postpartum Doula and proud mom of six beautiful children. I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success. My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son. Due to a series of events that could have very well crippled me only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone. My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The Postpartum stage isn't a race, it's about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way. When I am not attending a birth or working overnight postpartum shifts, you can most likely find me in the comfort of my home surrounded by my family. My house is filled with laughter, playful banter, persistent chirps from my Lovebirds and Conure, yapping can be heard from the family Pomeranian; Mochi. I enjoy worship nights held by my church, reading webtoons, soaking up k-dramas and building miniature wooden puzzles and book-nooks.

Schevon Sandy-Mitchell

As a mother of twin girls, she knows firsthand that parenting can be both beautiful and overwhelming. She also knows the difference it makes when people show up with practical support, encouragement, and care that lightens the load. Those experiences inspired her journey into postpartum work and continue to shape the way she serves families today. Schevon brings a calming presence, a listening ear, and a genuine love for caring for others. Whether she's preparing a nourishing meal influenced by her Trinidadian roots, tidying up while you rest, holding space for the emotions that often come with new parenthood, or simply reminding you that you're doing better than you think, her goal is always the same: to help you feel supported and seen. Grounded by faith, gratitude, and a deep belief in the power of community, Schevon approaches postpartum care with compassion and intention. For families who welcome it, she's happy to offer prayer or words of encouragement, but above all, she wants every parent to feel cared for, strengthened, and never alone. Her hope is that when she leaves your home, you've been able to take a deep breath, get some rest, enjoy a good meal, and feel just a little more like yourself again.
