Birth & Postpartum Doula I have been supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum since long before I had the language for it formally serving as a doula since 2021, but showing up for birthing people in my community for years before that. Birth work found me through my own pregnancies (c-section) unmedicated V back and unmedicated water birth vbac mama my background in education. As a former preschool and kindergarten teacher, I’ve always been drawn to caring for the whole child and family. Each of my births deepened my commitment to this work, and I’m passionate about supporting women who look like me in spaces where we are often the only ones. I currently work with Kindred Space LA, Frontline Doulas, and the Irth App, supporting families through birth, postpartum, belly binding, and babywearing. An avid breastfeeder myself nursing each of my children for 3 years I bring lived experience and practical support to feeding journeys. I have worked as a baby nurse for over 25 years and I enjoy helping new parents make the transition into parenthood, by teaching them how to care for the new addition to their family. I have the knowledge and training needed to educate new parents on how to care for their newborn by teaching them how to feed, bath and put babies down for naptime. I can help parents organize the nursery to make things more convenient and easier to handle. I am highly trained to take care of twins or even triplets, so parents with multiple newborns are not so overwhelmed and stressed. Even parents who already have children at home can use the extra help, so they have time to take care of their other children.

After the birth of my first daughter, I realized how underprepared I was for labor. I looked back on my experience unhappy with the things that were ‘done to me,’ rather than being able to make educated decisions based on evidence and my maternal instincts. During my second pregnancy, I knew I wanted to be more prepared and have a completely different birth experience. I did a lot of research on evidence-based practices and created an ideal vision for what I wanted this next birth to look like.
