I am Rebecca a mother of 6. I am a Childbirth teacher for the last 11 years and a Doula for 10. I have always taken a natural approach to things. As I have studied and learned more, I have made changes to my life and the way I do things. I became a Bradley teacher and started Doula Training and continued to expand my education shortly after. It fit nicely with my husband's Bowen Therapy, so we decided to work together helping others with all the things we struggled with and needed help with as parents. Every service I offer is something I needed in my life as a parent and had to piece together from multiple people and professionals. i want to make the community better and hopefully that will ripple outward and change other's lives too. Bridget is the founder and owner of Abundant Joy. With a passion for working with and advocating for people of all ages and backgrounds, she has taught in the public school system, assisted in resettling refugees, counseled trafficked women, and has worked to raise well-rounded, healthy children in her role as a professional nanny. With over 21 years of experience caring for children and providing education and support to the parents she worked alongside, many of Bridget’s close friends requested her support during their birth. Bridget was often asked to stay overnight to provide friends with her steady, upbeat, and positive presence–in their living room or in a hospital room. These long nights allowed her to listen to the birthing mamas, help them sort out what their goals and options were, and allowed Bridget to advocate for them to make sure they felt comfortable and had their needs met. Hello! My name is Saskia, and I am so excited to be a part of your pregnancy/postpartum journey! I have been a Registered Nurse for five years working in Postpartum and Labor units across America. My experience with high-risk mothers & newborns has helped me see just how special the birthing experience is. Seeing couples turn into a family for the first time, or seeing siblings introduced to their new brother/sister warms my heart to no end. It’s an amazing feeling to know that a new bundle of joy has entered the world and that I had the opportunity to be a part of it! While my years working in the hospital provided great learning experiences, I realized that my passion lies with mothers and newborns in their home environment. I decided to complete my training as a Certified Postpartum Doula, and have been able to support families with lactation support, early sleep training, soothing techniques, feeding schedules and all that postpartum brings for the last two years.
