The cost of a midwife in New Braunfels, TX can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Whether insurance will cover the cost of a midwife in New Braunfels, TX, depends on your specific insurance plan and the midwife's credentials. Many insurance plans provide coverage for certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) who are licensed and work in collaboration with healthcare facilities. However, coverage for licensed midwives (LMs) or certified professional midwives (CPMs), who often attend home births or work in birth centers, may vary. You should contact your insurance provider to ask about your specific plan's maternity benefits and whether they cover midwifery services. It's also helpful to confirm with the midwife or birth center if they accept insurance or offer payment plans.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in New Braunfels, TX, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Hello! I'm Madison, I'm a trained Birth and Postpartum Doula; I am located in San Antonio and serve all of San Antonio and the surrounding communities. I'm passionate about supporting families through one of the most transformative experiences of their lives: childbirth. As a doula, I provide comprehensive support to expectant mothers and their partners before, during, and after childbirth, including invaluable postpartum care. My journey into doula work began after I had my 3rd child and had the amazing opportunity to have a doula for her birth. It made such a difference in my birth experience and helped me avoid having another traumatic birthing experience. Since then, I've dedicated myself to empowering birthing individuals to make informed decisions about their care and to advocate for their birth preferences. I specialize in military family births and postpartum because I was a military spouse and know the hardships that come along with it. In addition to offering emotional and physical support during labor, I also specialize in postpartum care, recognizing the importance of nurturing and assisting families in the delicate weeks following childbirth. From providing breastfeeding support and assisting with newborn care to offering practical assistance with household tasks, I aim to ease the transition into parenthood and ensure that families feel supported and cared for during this vulnerable time. I believe that postpartum support is just as vital as prenatal and birth support, and I'm committed to providing compassionate care that honors the unique needs of each family. Whether you're navigating the challenges of breastfeeding, struggling with postpartum mood disorders, or simply in need of a listening ear and a helping hand, I'm here to offer nonjudgmental support and guidance every step of the way. If you're interested in learning more about how I can support you during your pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey, please don't hesitate to reach out. I would be honored to be a part of your birthing team.

Hello! My name is Saskia, and I am so excited to be a part of your pregnancy/postpartum journey! I have been a Registered Nurse for five years working in Postpartum and Labor units across America. My experience with high-risk mothers & newborns has helped me see just how special the birthing experience is. Seeing couples turn into a family for the first time, or seeing siblings introduced to their new brother/sister warms my heart to no end. It’s an amazing feeling to know that a new bundle of joy has entered the world and that I had the opportunity to be a part of it! While my years working in the hospital provided great learning experiences, I realized that my passion lies with mothers and newborns in their home environment. I decided to complete my training as a Certified Postpartum Doula, and have been able to support families with lactation support, early sleep training, soothing techniques, feeding schedules and all that postpartum brings for the last two years. I love being able to encourage and uplift the entire family as we work through the fourth trimester together! I also am a yoga/breath-work instructor, and specialize in infant and pregnant women. I live in Austin, and as of now only have a fur baby. I grew up overseas in Europe until I was 17 years old. Growing up in Europe showed me how precious life is and can be. It taught me not to take anything for granted. When I am not working, I am hiking with my pup, doing arts and crafts, exploring new places, swimming, hanging out with my family at the ranch, meeting up with friends, or doing yoga. I would love to be a part of your journey and help welcome your baby into your beautiful home!

Brigette was a wonderful doula for us! I personally interviewed many potential doulas for my birth and Brigette really stood out. Not only is she skilled in her practice but she has a great passion for what she does. During our appointments in advance of the birth, she brought resources and provided clear answers to our questions. And during the birth, Brigette came to support me in the middle of the night when my labor started, all the way through to the hospital where my birth story ended with the arrival of my little girl. Even after the birth, Brigette has been a wonderful support, checking in with us regularly and doing what she can to answer questions and provide additional resources. I highly recommend her!

I became a birth doula because I am in awe of the strength and wisdom of women. It is an honor to help you tune into the wisdom of your body, and to support your family as they learn how to support you. I help you find your breath when things get big. I remind your partner how to hold you. I help create a quiet, womb-like space—dim lights, soft sounds, warm water, and anything else that helps you feel safe, grounded, and undisturbed. I attend home births, birth centers, and hospital births. Wherever you feel safe is the right place to have your baby. My job is to help regulate the space, so that you can surrender. I offer peace of mind, solid education, and steady presence so you can meet this experience with courage. My care is personalized and client-led. I follow your rhythm. My approach is grounded in the belief that women already have everything they need within them to safely and instinctively bring their babies into the world. Whether this is your first baby or your sixth, your birth matters. Each one is a new journey, a new chance to grow and expand and meet yourself in a whole new way.

Hannah is a fantastic doula! She has so much information to share in the prenatal appointments that made me feel that much more prepared. She was present during my long labor - day and night - and offered so much support to me and my husband during the process. And her helping hand during my postpartum period was much appreciated as well. I'm so glad she was a part of my birth experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, caring, and dutiful doula.

Hi! My name is Annie Miller, I apprenticed under an elder doula in my area and have attended 14 births in the last 8 months. I believe that birth is sacred and the mother knows what’s best for her and the baby. I would be honored to support you and your family.

Annie was an incredible support before, during, and after my birth! She met with my husband and I several times before my birth and ensured that we had the opportunity to share our desires and vision for the birth experience. She is empathetic and encouraging and always positive while also being realistic. She was the first member of my birth team we called when I went into labor and she came to our house promptly even though it was the middle of the night. From the minute she answered the phone I felt her calm and steady support. Once she arrived, she immediately jumped into action to support me with both verbal affirmations and hands-on work like hip squeezes and reminders to keep my muscles relaxed. She also encouraged my husband in his support of me and deftly gave him suggestions when he was unsure. (As this was our first baby, this was very reassuring for him, as neither he nor I had experienced birth before.) All throughout my long labor, Annie remained a stable, reassuring presence who helped me stay in the zone and always affirmed that I was strong and capable and was going to meet my baby soon! She and my husband were extremely hands on through the end of my pushing phase. Annie helped me get into different positions and used strategies to help me push more effectively. After my baby was born, Annie helped me to recover and clean up. She made me feel strong and beautiful as I came back to myself following birth. Throughout the whole birth, Annie was a great support and presence in encouraging me and jumping in without hesitation to help in whatever way she could. I highly recommend her as a doula!
