Hello! I’m Gabrielle and I am a birth and postpartum doula. I was born and raised in a small town near Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas to open the first few In N Out Burgers in San Antonio. I met my husband and moved back to California to be more close to my family, but missed Texas- so we are back again! I have a husband, 2 kids, dogs, cats, and chickens. We are very active with our local shelter and almost always have a foster animal, or 3. For 2 years we lived in an RV traveling to 12 states, and we would love to see more. I homeschool my children, and in my free time I love to travel, explore nature, listen to music, and catch up on TV. I have a bachelor’s degree and I am currently going to school to become a Registered Nurse. After my second child, I realized how important it is to have a village. I believe if I had a postpartum doula, my fourth trimester would have been completely different. There are so many women that don’t have a good support system, even though everyone deserves one. Being able to help my family members and friends who were postpartum has been such a rewarding experience; it led me to seek out formal training in doula work so I could make a career out of helping people. I am a planner and love doing research. Even though birth is very unpredictable, I love being able to inform parents of their options, advocate for them, and be the calm in the storm. I have experience in creating birth plans, different positions to help labor progress, postpartum planning, newborn care, and breastfeeding.

I am a queer parent to two kiddos, certified full spectrum doula, and student midwife through the National College of Midwifery. I’m an Austin native and my family and I live in South Austin with our small zoo of pets. My call to birth work was awakened through my own birthing experience which broke me open and sparked transformation in me. My passion and connection to this work deepened through the process of navigating fertility treatments, conception with donor sperm, logistical challenges of second parent adoption, and the unique emotions of being a non-gestational parent to our daughter and sitting in the role of partner to the pregnant/birthing parent. We provide all you need to comfortably bring your baby into the world. The birth center midwives provide all of your prenatal care appointments, help you during labor and birth, and continue care for six weeks for you and baby. When you come to the birth center in labor, the deep soaking tubs help you relax. You can also choose to labor on one of the birthing stools, in a yoga sling, or on one of our exercise balls. Each birth suite has color changing lights, smart tvs, smart speakers, and oil diffusers to create a calm birth environment.

Amelia is a DONA trained birth doula (2019) from Minnesota. She holds a BA in Global Studies with emphasis on South American studies and Global Public Health. Birthwork found her when she was working on a research project about women giving birth in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Howdy! I’m so glad you’re here! Birth and postpartum are some of the most vulnerable times in someone’s life and if we work together I’m likely going to see you naked to some degree, so it’s only fair you know about me too! I grew up in the Dallas area and have been in Austin since 2014. I came for college and south Austin has always been my home. I was a nanny for a family while I was working on my undergraduate degree in social work with minors in psychology and women & gender studies - they introduced me to what a doula was. I am one of the lucky people on this planet who has truly found their calling and can honestly say they love their job. I’m also a Licensed Social Worker in both Texas and Colorado and focused my studies in graduate school on perinatal mental health and mood disorders and the mind-body connection of somatic therapy. I believe the birth of a child, and rebirth of humans in the transition to becoming a parent, are sacred and beautiful experiences. Knowing birth is strenuous on the physical body as well as requiring an immense amount of mental strength, I bring in knowledge from regulating your central nervous system while still focusing on mind-body-soul-connection. Having a strong support to provide knowledge, hold space, and honor the process is key, and what I love most about birthwork. I am also passionate about the postpartum period to help families navigate the transitions of a new parental identity, preparing parent’s relationship for changes, caring for themselves, and setting up realistic expectations for what the future will bring.
