Hello, My name is Ty-Renai Davis. I am a doula,lactation counselor, mother of one, and foster parent. I have primarily been in the mental health field for the past 10 years as a Licensed Social Worker in various settings. In 2017, I became pregnant and began doing research. I found so much information, support, and power in doulas, midwives, and other birth workers. In 2020 I became a surrogate and it was an amazing experience. After two pregnancies, labors, and postpartum periods I had gained tons of information and met different people that led to me seeing the importance of birth workers and what having the right support can do for someone. I strongly believe that the medical system alone is not designed to result in the best outcome emotionally and physically during the various stages.
