I love helping birthing people and their partners discover the magic of Birth Days. I love helping them realize that they have a voice in how the story of this day will go. Women are strong and when we educate them we empower them. I became a doula in 2019 and feel tremendous gratitude for each couple who has let me join them on their treasured day. I have 5 babies of my own, and was a gestational carrier for my last pregnancy. Each baby was born in their own unique way. I do not believe there is one right way to birth, rather there is one right way to treat the mother— with respect.

Having trained as a Doula and Prenatal Yoga Instructor in Washington, D.C., I gained valuable experience supporting mothers in fast-paced medical settings where advocacy and informed decisions are essential. My background is education, I have worked in every grade from kindergarten to high school, special education, public and charter schools. The birth of my own child in 2016 was what got me into the birth world, but my passion in all of this is teaching families how to have an amazing and confident birth and a restful postpartum time.

I am so passionate about birth and empowering birthing people with support and knowledge so they are fully equipped for whatever childbirth brings their way. My background is all things babies, from being a professional nanny to doula work, to being an Auntie to so many children. Knowledge is power and there are so many unknowns in childbirth. It is my joy and desire to equip birthing people with enough knowledge and support that when the unknowns come up, and they will, you are not blindsided. Rather, you are able to make educate, informed decisions. In my free time I enjoy reading, tending to my plants, baking, and gaming with my friends.

After the birth of my second child, I found myself struggling with postpartum depression. Even though I had a good support system, there were many factors at play that left me feeling depressed, anxious, and like I wasn't a good mom.  Thankfully, I was able to receive appropriate care and I was soon feeling better! I felt so incredibly loved and held as I did the work to recover. Because of the wonderful support I experienced from the birth and postpartum world, I decided to transition from my former career of 16 years as a veterinary technician. I am currently in the process of becoming certified as a postpartum doula through CAPPA and I am so excited to continue supporting the new families in my community!
