Hello, my name is Sydia Waite Maxwell, and I’m a Certified Newborn Care Specialist and postpartum doula with over 15 years of experience supporting families throughout New York and New Jersey. I specialize in overnight newborn care, helping parents establish healthy sleep habits, feeding routines, and confidence during the early weeks of their baby’s life. My goal is to create a calm, nurturing environment that allows both parents and babies to rest and thrive.

Hi, I’m Janene — a Newborn & Family Care Specialist providing calm, dependable overnight care for growing families. I support parents through the early weeks by caring for their newborn overnight, allowing them to rest, recover, and feel more confident during this transition. I bring a steady, nurturing presence into the home and work closely with families to follow their preferences and routines. My approach is warm and down-to-earth, while always professional, organized, and respectful of the trust families place in me.

Becoming a mother has shaped not only who I am—but also how I support others. I’ve experienced birth in many forms: a hospital birth with medical interventions, a hospital birth without medication, and finally, a peaceful home birth. Each one was powerful, unique, and taught me something new about strength, surrender, and support. My journey sparked a passion for supporting women during this incredibly personal and transformative time. I became a doula because I believe every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, and truly heard. My work is rooted in empathy and a deep respect for each person’s unique experience. I offer care that meets you where you are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether it’s helping you prepare, offering reassurance, or simply holding space, I’m here to support you in making this journey your own.

My name is Hazel Alvarez. As an Independent BirthKeeper and Teacher, I hold space for women to find the fullness of their power, to learn to truly trust, connect and listen to their bodies and to give birth in a way that makes her feel seen, heard, safe and respected. I offer the Quantum Model of Care when it comes to pregnancy and birth. This means that I prioritize Nurturing of both the mom and her partner, Soul-Level Connections with mom, recognition of Self-directed women who know what they want, Trust & Transparency, and Birth as an Altered State of Consciousness. Always knowing and acknowledging that there is a divine power that is always guiding us through the miracle of life. I am knowledgeable and respectful of both the physiology and the mystical aspects of birth. You were born to navigate your birth and to be in tune with your divine vessel. I am humbled by the honor that I am being called to witness birth as it should be.

Hello, my name is Lauryn Alexander and I’m from Sleepy Hollow New York. Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I started caring for children when I was 16, and from a young age, I knew that childcare was something I wanted to pursue as a career. Over the past 5+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children in many different settings. I’ve been a camp counselor working with 1st through 4th graders, worked at BounceU, provided babysitting and nanny care, and worked in a daycare as an infant teacher assistant. Each experience has taught me something new and has made me even more passionate about what I do. My daycare experience allowed me to work closely with infants and toddlers, including caring for twins, babies with colic, and children with different developmental needs. I truly enjoy creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. I recently became certified as a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), which is an exciting new step in my childcare journey. I’m always looking to learn and grow, and my ultimate dream is to have a daycare of my own one day. Caring for children isn’t just a job to me—it’s something I genuinely love and feel passionate about.

When you are navigating the postpartum season you deserve support from someone who genuinely understands what you are moving through. Not just professionally, but personally. My name is Bianca. I am a trained postpartum doula, herbalist, and mother based in Westchester County, NY. I came to doula work in response to the Black maternal health crisis because I believed mothers deserved more than they were typically being given. And when I became a mother myself in 2020 I understood that truth in a way no amount of training could have fully prepared me for. Our journey begins with a real conversation, not a checklist. Together we build a care plan shaped around your life, whether you need a few hours or ongoing support through the early weeks. When I show up, I am fully there, no rushing, no clock watching, just presence for the day you are actually having. As your confidence grows, I step back gently, always in your corner for as long as you need. If any of this resonated with you, I would love to connect and learn more about how I can support you during this tender season.

Hi, I'm Taylor Clarke-Cameron, a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator based in New Jersey. Since launching my doula practice in December 2024, I've had the privilege of supporting 15 families and attending 13 births, and every single one has deepened my commitment to this work. Before stepping into birth work, I spent over a decade as a school administrator — advocating for individuals, navigating complex systems, and building trust with families during some of the most pivotal moments of their lives. That foundation shapes everything I do as a doula: I show up informed, steady, and fully in your corner. My mission is simple: every birthing person deserves to feel informed, empowered, and supported — no exceptions. I am proudly affirming of all families, including single parents, multicultural and multi-religious families, LGBTQIA+ families, parents with disabilities, parents who are neurodivergent, and those growing their families through adoption. My Approach Universal Support, Personal Touch Birth is universal—it's happened across cultures, centuries, and countless galaxies of human experience. Yet YOUR birth is uniquely yours, a wonder that deserves celebration and support tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you're a single parent writing your own heroic story, part of a multicultural or multi-religious family blending beautiful traditions, navigating parenthood in the LGBTQIA+ community, a differently-abled parent, a neurodivergent parent, or creating your family through adoption—I am here for YOU. Your journey matters, your choices are valid, and your experience deserves nothing less than stellar support.

My name is Liz, and I'm a certified postpartum and newborn care doula based in New York City. I came to the U.S. from Brazil, and my path into this work grew naturally from years of caring for families up close — first as an au pair, then as a nanny, and eventually as a doula. What I found along the way is that the fourth trimester is one of the most transformative seasons of a person's life, and it deserves real, unhurried support. I show up for every family with warmth, expertise, and a genuine commitment to making sure no mother feels alone during that time.

My best friend asked me to be "her doula" 19 years ago. I flew to LA and planned to be there for 10 days in hopes the baby would come in that window of time. I sang and whispered into her belly and Introduced myself to her baby. We had quite a time during the labor as her midwives guided her through the experience. She was incredible! She chose a home birth which ended at the hospital. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Witnessing the birth was transcendent and inspiring! When I flew back to NYC, I vowed that when our youngest daughter was in college, I would become a Doula. I grew up in Minnesota. I graduated with a BFA from the acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts. I have a background in dance, singing, yoga and martial arts. I was an American Council of Exercise certified personal trainer for 12 years. When I became pregnant, becoming a certified prenatal trainer was ideal. I especially loved working with all my pregnant clients. Having an online health and wellness business with Arbonne International has been another passion of mine. Over the years, I have coached a team on how to build their own online businesses and shared this opportunity in a public speaking setting for large groups. I teach my clients the benefits of aligning with a vegan brand they can trust and the value of choosing a B corporation, and living a more green lifestyle. I am a certified Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the International Doula Institute. I am also certified as a Perinatal Nutrition Educator, Birth Educator and Lactation Counselor. I hold a certification in Diversity Equity and Inclusion. I am also first aid, AED/CPR certified for pediatric and adults through the Red cross. Being present, and relying on my emotional intelligence, knowledge and discernment, helps me to navigate how to best listen and anticipate a person's needs. I embody joyful humor as my way to serve others. I bring warm energy, passion and authenticity to the people I spend time with. I'm a lifelong student who loves to learn, grow and collaborate. I believe these qualities, as a birth team member, contribute to the overall outcome and experience of all involved. I live in Harlem with my husband. We have two daughters. Hobbies: singing in choir, biking, and lifting weights. I also enjoy baking, reading and traveling. I love conversations over dinner with my husband and friends, and going to the theater and jazz clubs. Walking in nature each day is key to living in my joy, and of course, fitting as many plants and flowers into our home as humanly possible!

My experience as a Doula dates back to when I supported family and friends, unknowingly providing post-partum and supportive care. I've worked in the healthcare field for 15 (+) years at various hospitals & clinics, specifically in women's reproductive health. Having worked in both the private & public sectors of healthcare, I realized I wanted to not only support but advocate for those who could not speak out for themselves, all while being a source to women that needed resources. I didn't realize that all of this would bring me full circle to my purpose of becoming a doula! I've worked with women and families, providing evidence-based support for labor, post-partum, mental, & spiritual needs. During the 4th trimester (postpartum) Not only will I support and offer education as to what to expect for yourself during this physically and emotional time but I will also help you understand your newborn developments and milestones. No pregnancy or postpartum is ever the same; I encounter each one with an open mind & and heart, giving you the support that I know will put your mind at ease.

Hello, my name is Coleen Christie, and I am a Newborn Care Specialist based in Minnesota, available for travel. I have spent the past five years supporting families during the early weeks after birth through overnight and 24 hour care. I am passionate about helping parents feel steady and informed in what can be a vulnerable season. I believe newborn care should feel structured but calm. I focus on safe sleep, full feeds, and recognizing subtle changes early so small concerns do not grow into bigger ones. Families often bring me in during transitions such as first time parenting, twins, or reflux challenges. I guide with experience while respecting the tone of the home, and I work toward a clear goal. By the time I leave, the baby is more settled, and the parents feel confident maintaining their routine. Outside of work, I value quiet time, reading, and staying active. I believe the same steadiness I bring into my own life is what allows me to show up grounded and consistent for the families I serve.

Hi! I’m Destiny, a birth doula who believes every mom and family deserves to feel supported, heard, and empowered throughout their birth journey. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and centered around your unique goals. Outside of birth work, I love hiking, baking banana bread, and spending time in nature. I usually say I accidentally fell into the field of birth work, but I guess that's not totally true. After spending a decade abroad running a foster home/cardiac surgery program for babies with complex congenital heart defects and maternal/fetal health programs for at-risk indigenous families, I unexpectedly found myself stuck in New York City in early 2020, waiting out this little bug called "Covid-19" that was shutting borders all around the world... I certified as a birth & postpartum doula in the USA in 2020, to be with my best friend for the birth of her first child in the midst of Covid protocols. I never could have imagined how much I would fall in love with birthwork here in the United States and it is the greatest honor to walk alongside families as they grow and change (in whatever capacity!), providing unbiased & judgment-free support, advocacy, guidance, and care during such intimate and pivotal moments.
