I’m Em - mama of many, wife to my best friend and new homestead-er. I created my photography business in 2018 not knowing exactly what I wanted to capture, I just knew I wanted to help those in my community save their memories for a lifetime. Fast forward to 2021, I attended my first birth, a sweet home birth. After that I know that birth work was exactly what I was looking for - it has become my passion. In winter of 2022 I got my doula certification to serve local mamas during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Now, today in 2024 I have served over 19 mamas and counting and have been published for my birth photography workin a magazine and I have won awards on my work. I enrolled at MCU as a student midwife in 2023 with the intentions to graduate with a bachelors of science in midwifery in 2027. I am currently serving those in the Johnstown, OH + surrounding area.

While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. A Dallas native, Madison was inspired to be a doula as far back as elementary school when she and her older sister watched TLC’s A Baby Story in the early 2000s. Madison completed DONA International Training March 2020. Since 2020, Madison has assisted mothers through VBACs, C-Sections, vaginal births with and without epidurals, home births, birthing center births and hospital births. I am a new Doula and have completed a Dona approved Doula training. My work background is mostly rooted in hospitality, customer service and yoga. I have always had a passion for caring for others and creating a fulfilling experience. Birth is something I am in awe of and I'm so excited to support women and babies during these life changing moments! When I'm not at work, I can be found cooking a wholesome meal, reading a novel with a strong female lead or doing yoga. I'm a California native so I love spending time outdoors hiking/running, it's a great way to relieve stress and to feel accomplished after a long trek!

I am a labor/postpartum support serving families in the DFW area. My pursuit to maternal health education began six years ago when I experienced a homebirth of my third child. The following year, I supported a community member birth at the hospital and witnessed the differences between midwife facilitating brith at home and a midwife facilitating birth at a hospital. My research to find answers led me to learning about the history and the foundation of obstetrics in the United States. It has been my mission since then to support women experience pregnancy and labor as educated beings no matter where they decide to have a baby. My passion for this work aligns with my Faith, Islam.
