I am a Certified Lactation Counselor and Birth/Postpartum Doula, and was called to this work because of my own experiences. I had a myriad of pregnancy issues, including loss, high risk medical complications, postpartum mood disorder, PTSD, and breastfeeding challenges. Like many families, we could not find the right resources, despite looking and asking for help. I don't want another person to fall through the cracks like I did. That was back in 2007/2008, and while more support systems are in place, we are still clearly lacking. We all benefit from having compassionate, non-judgmental help in the process of starting or adding to our families, and it brings me immense satisfaction to be that person for others. Show Less A scenic landscape showing mountains, a lake, and trees under a clear blue sky. My Philosophy I believe that every person has the right to a safe, respectful, and empowering experience when starting or adding to their family-whether through adoption, fertility treatments, or birth. This should be provided no matter their race, religion, beliefs, economic status, disability status, sexual or gender identity. I am committed to provi Show More My Services I offer a range of services to support birthing individuals and families throughout the pregnancy and childbirth journey. These include prenatal support, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, bottle-feeding/formula guidance, pumping and lactation support.

We had such a wonderful experience with our doula, Dana. She was incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and caring throughout the entire process. Her calm presence and encouragement made me feel confident and reassured during labor, and she was always there when I needed guidance or support. Dana truly went above and beyond to make sure both my baby and I were comfortable and well cared for. I’m so grateful for her compassion, professionalism, and dedication. I had Darlene as my doula for my first baby. She was very organized and I appreciated her thoughtfulness and prenatal meetings. She supported me through my transition between midwives and OB care. Postpartum, I utilized her overnight services which was super helpful as a first time mom.

Fiona Mortensen

Packages from $100 · $50/hr

Hi, I’m Fiona Mortensen, founder of Little Pines Doula. I’m a certified postpartum doula, student lactation counselor, and a mom to two little boys under two, proudly supporting families throughout the Greater Seattle and Tacoma areas. My passion for birth and postpartum work began during my time as an EMT in King County, where I had the unforgettable experience of helping a mother deliver her sixth baby. That moment opened my eyes to the beauty and privilege of supporting families during such a powerful transition. Since then, I’ve welcomed my own children—first via cesarean and then through a VBAC—experiences that have deepened my appreciation for the importance of informed, compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With a background in emergency medicine—including work on a NICU/PICU transport team and as an ER Technician at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital—I bring a steady, grounded presence and a blend of clinical knowledge and heartfelt support to my doula practice. At Little Pines Doula, I offer non-judgmental, personalized care to meet each family’s unique needs. I especially love helping new parents build confidence and connection as they adjust to life with their baby. Outside of doula work, I love exploring new parks with my boys, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At home, you’ll often find me curled up with an embroidery project and my cats, or sharing laughs and playful moments with my family. I believe joy and humor are essential, and I bring a light-hearted, down-to-earth energy into every family I support. I’m also passionate about learning and am always deepening my knowledge in birth, postpartum care, and lactation—not only to better serve my clients, but because I genuinely love continuing to grow. I truly believe the postpartum period can be one of the most beautiful and transformative times in a family’s life. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during this tender season—and to bring warmth, wisdom, and a few smiles along the way.

Having Fiona as my postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made when preparing for our little guy’s arrival. Fiona guided me through decision paralysis, every question or concern, and exhaustion; she did this with care, grace, compassion and patience. She was very professional (prompt, communicated expectations and boundaries clearly) while being personable. I needed someone just like this while my little family navigated this tender time of postpartum. There was never a moment of doubt or worry with Fiona as our doula. I knew my little dude was in great hands while I rested. I can’t recommend Fiona enough! Our 2 months with her was amazing and made my postpartum journey so much easier and peaceful.

I am a Birth Doula, an expert in body balancing for pregnancy birth and post-partum, (Body Ready Method Pro), a Breathwork Facilitator and a Herbalist. I am new to bornbir but not new to being a Doula! Check out my website for google reviews. I specialize in nervous system regulation through breathwork and body balancing. I have a deep understanding of the connection between breath health and nervous system health. When you can utilize these two things for your pregnancy, labor and post partum you will change your entire life. Your nervous system is the driver and unless you become present with it and understand how to speak with it- your intuition will always take a back seat to your stress, anxiety and fears. My goal is to help dissolve your fears and get you in FLOW by learning how to hear your intuition!

My labor and birthing experience with Jacqi was beyond amazing! Her calm and collected presence is something I’ll continue to be grateful for. I, unfortunately, had somewhat of a traumatic laboring experience due to my high risk pregnancy, and if it wasn’t for Jacqi’s knowledge and calm demeanor I don’t think I would’ve navigated all the medical issues as well as I did. I had my laboring room full of love and support; I had my husband, my sister, mother in law, and Jacqi. With over 36hours of laboring, Jacqi supported me every second. She knew what to do and when. She remembered everything from my birth plan, which was so great, even though my medical situation didn’t allow for some of my preferences to be honored, Jacqi still advocated for the birth experience I envisioned. She was also such a light to have in my room and kept the spirits high with everyone around. She brought snacks, had all the tools to help me labor, and was so so so incredibly emotionally supportive. My first time birthing experience with a traumatic medical condition wasn’t something I could navigate without Jacqi’s involvement! I will 10/10 be working with Jacqi again for my next birth!!

I had a very traumatic birth for my first child. Catholine made this experience so much more memorable and meaningful. Catholine is unmatched in how she holds space and provides comfort. Hi — I’m Sampaguita Thank you for being here. I’m a birth worker, student midwife, and lifelong advocate for reproductive and sexual bodily autonomy for every body. My work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves choice, access, safety, and power in their reproductive journeys. I’m especially honored to support individuals and communities whose lineages have had to fight for this freedom — whether that meant the right to give birth and raise children, or the right not to. It is a sacred calling to support people through the transformative journeys of pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and parenting, and I hold this responsibility with deep gratitude. I bring a lived, embodied lens to this work as a... - Non-binary lesbian - Mixed 2nd-generation Filipino-American - Birth worker with nearly 10 years of experience - Working-class upbringing - Covid cautious and harm reductionist - Living with chronic pain and disabilities

We’re so grateful to have had Sampaguita's support in our birth experience. From the very beginning, they were incredibly kind and genuine. As a queer and trans family, we felt completely comfortable in the space they created. They were also incredibly knowledgeable and we appreciated the time they took to figure out what was most important to us around the birth, answer our questions, explain our options, and help us feel informed and empowered throughout the process. We always felt heard, respected, and supported. We truly couldn’t have asked for a more compassionate and knowledgeable doula. We’re so grateful for the care they gave us and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for thoughtful, affirming, and genuine support.
