What's the Cost of Hiring a Midwife in Senoia, GA?

In Senoia, GA, a midwife typically costs about $3,000 to $6,000 for prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum visits for a home birth or birth center birth, while hospital-based certified nurse-midwife care may be billed through insurance and total charges can be higher before coverage; if you only need gynecologic or prenatal visits, individual appointments often range from about $100 to $300 depending on the service, provider, and whether lab work or ultrasounds are included.

The cost of a midwife in Senoia, GA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

In Senoia, GA, insurance often covers some or all of a midwife’s services if the midwife is licensed and in-network, but the amount depends on your specific plan; many employer plans, ACA marketplace plans, and Medicaid plans cover prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care provided by certified nurse-midwives, while coverage for home birth or certified professional midwives is less consistent. Typical out-of-pocket costs can range from about $0 to a few hundred dollars for in-network maternity care after copays, coinsurance, and deductibles, but if the midwife is out-of-network or home birth is not covered, families may pay several thousand dollars themselves, often around $2,000 to $6,000 or more.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Senoia, GA, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

I have always been passionate about helping those expecting and their loved ones learn how to advocate for their needs. I am currently in my Doula Certification program, but have helped families for many years. Through my travels and lived experiences in and out of the U.S, I bring knowledge and wisdom from many cultures, including my own Caribbean heritage. My goal is to teach those who are expecting how to listen to their bodies, take care of their needs inside and out, and have the type of birth that they have always imagined. I also support families through changes that may occur during labor and delivery by assisting in creating flexible birth plans. In case of postpartum and bereavement, I provide care, sensitivity, and tools focused on grieving. I am here to support you and cheer you on as an advocate and loving birth assistant.

We are beyond grateful for the support and care we received from Mrs. Shanicqua. Throughout our pregnancy and postpartum journey. From the very beginning, she provided incredible insight on nutrition, breastfeeding, and what to realistically expect during both pregnancy and postpartum. Her knowledge gave us confidence, but more importantly, her presence gave us peace. She has a true gift for supporting families — not just with information, but with compassion. During postpartum, when emotions can feel overwhelming, she was a steady voice of reassurance and encouragement. She helped us navigate those feelings in a healthy way and has always made herself available when we needed guidance. Beyond being an amazing doula, she has also been such a supportive and genuine friend to us in this process. Her care never felt transactional — it felt personal, intentional, and deeply invested in our well-being as a growing family. We truly couldn’t imagine this journey without her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for knowledgeable, compassionate, and heartfelt doula support.

I am a full-spectrum doula committed to supporting the whole family — mother, baby, and partner — through every stage of this journey. Too often, families are sent home after birth and expected to figure it out alone. That can feel overwhelming and isolating. I believe you deserve more than that. You deserve education, support, and a community around you. When I say “village,” I mean real, practical support. You will know how to feed, rest, recover, and adjust as a family. You will understand what is happening in your body, what your baby needs, and what to expect during each stage. My role is not to rescue you. My role is to equip you. I provide tools, education, and steady guidance so you can make informed choices with confidence. I believe birth is powerful. A mother’s body carries wisdom. My goal is to help you trust that wisdom while fully understanding your options. I also support partners and fathers intentionally. I help them understand how to support mom physically and emotionally. I prepare them for the changes that may show up for them too — stress, exhaustion, uncertainty, or feeling unsure of their role. I help them feel confident, involved, and connected during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I am currently completing my certification through the Georgia Black Doula Network, strengthening my training in culturally competent, evidence-based support. I am passionate about advocating for healthy mothers and babies and strengthening Black families. I offer: Prenatal education and preparation Labor support Postpartum support Pregnancy and postpartum meal planning Cooking classes for growing families You do not have to walk this journey alone. Let’s prepare your family for a supported, informed, and confident birth experience.

I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am for her as my doula. From pregnancy to postpartum, she was a steady, calming presence during one of the most vulnerable seasons of my life. My pregnancy was high-risk and emotionally overwhelming at times, and she never once made me feel alone. She advocated for me, educated me, reassured me, and reminded me of my strength when I struggled to see it myself. During labor and delivery, she was everything — supportive, knowledgeable, attentive, and intuitive. She created such a safe space for me to feel heard and empowered in my birth experience. When my baby needed NICU care, she continued to show up for me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. She checked in, offered resources, and made sure I was cared for too — not just physically, but emotionally. Postpartum can be isolating, but having her in my corner made all the difference. She normalized my feelings, helped me process everything, and reminded me that I am doing an incredible job as a mother. If you are considering hiring a doula, please don’t hesitate. She is compassionate, professional, incredibly skilled, and truly called to this work. I would choose her again a thousand times over.

There truly aren’t enough words to express how transformative Lex was throughout my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. From the moment we connected, she brought such a powerful balance of warmth, wisdom, grounding energy, and genuine love that made me feel safe, seen, and deeply supported every step of the way. Lex didn’t just serve as my doula — she became a guide, an advocate, a safe space, and truly family. Through her care, I learned so much about myself, through myself, and of myself. She helped me tap into a strength, softness, intuition, and confidence I didn’t even realize I had within me. Her services were deeply transformative, not only for my birth experience, but for my growth as a woman and mother. Throughout labor, her calming presence, encouragement, techniques, and faith-filled reassurance grounded me in ways I’ll never forget. Whether it was breathing through contractions, helping me reposition, speaking life into me, or simply reminding me of the power my body already carried, she made me feel empowered from beginning to end. There were moments where her belief in me carried me until I could fully believe in myself again, and that is a gift I will cherish forever. What makes Lex so special is the depth of care she pours into the people she serves. She leads with compassion, intention, and heart. She has such a rare ability to make you feel protected, understood, and capable all at once. Her spirit lights up every room, and the love she carries naturally pours into everyone around her, especially mothers and babies. Watching the way my son connected with her from the very beginning only confirmed everything I already knew: she is truly called to this work. Having her by my side during one of the most vulnerable and sacred times of my life was one of the greatest blessings I could have asked for. Lex, thank you for showing up for me and my baby in ways words could never fully repay. Thank you for your patience, your wisdom, your nurturing spirit, your prayers, your encouragement, and your unwavering love. You helped make my birthing experience beautiful, empowering, and unforgettable. If you are considering a doula, choose Lex. Truly. She is gifted, intentional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply anointed in what she does. Any mother would be blessed to have her by their side. Forever grateful for you, my doula girl. 💜✨

My name is Janis Adams, I am a certified Labor Doula and I live near Atlanta. My background is in early childhood education. I am a mother of six and a grandmother of thirteen! I have worked in public school and currently hold a brokers license in Real Estate. Years ago, I went through labor and delivery with a couple I knew when they had their third child. Afterward both mom and dad thanked me for being the extra hands they needed! A week or so later T said, " You should think about becoming a Doula," you were so helpful! I thought to myself, "What's a Doula?" Since that time I have been involved with and supported many births over the years. The first time I ever went through birth as a support person was with my best friend 42 years ago; while I myself, was a week away from delivering my own first child. I have also been at the births of most of my grandchildren. I’ve also been there to assist, encourage and support my own daughters as they went through the birth experience for the first time. It was during the Pandemic that I enrolled and took courses to be come a labor doula. During that time the number of people that could be in the labor and delivery process was limited to just the mom and the dad unless you had a doula. One of my daughters and her husband were having their first child and they wanted me to be there. My daughter called and said to me that I had to become a doula! She gave me no choice! I am experienced with home births and water births. The things I do to relax are reading, gardening, sailing and traveling. Also, I have started a homeschool group and teach several students since the pandemic. In all, I have come full circle back to education but this time with adults and children!

As a dedicated labor and postpartum doula I believe every family deserves compassionate, knowledgeable, and personalized support during one of life’s most transformative moments. My philosophy is centered on creating a safe, nurturing environment where parents feel empowered, respected, and heard. I approach birth and postpartum care with patience, empathy, and a deep respect for each family’s unique journey, offering guidance, comfort, and practical support tailored to your needs. Whether through emotional reassurance, evidence-based information, or hands-on care, my goal is to walk alongside you—helping you feel confident, cared for, and fully supported as you welcome your baby and step into parenthood.

Adrienne has become like a third parent to our family — indispensable during both the transition to life with our first child and again with our second. Her overnight care allowed me to get much-needed rest so I could regain my strength and be fully present during the day. Adrienne’s love for babies is obvious in everything she does: she’s meticulous and thoughtful (hand-washing and boiling bottles rather than relying on gadgets, emptying the diaper pail, prepping fruit) and even leaves helpful notes for us. She’s always punctual and professional while remaining warm and reassuring, which empowered me as a new parent. Both children were sleep-trained by two months, thanks in part to her consistent, confident care. We look forward to her visits, genuinely miss her when she’s gone, and wholeheartedly recommend Adrienne to any family seeking compassionate, competent postpartum support.

“No matter how you choose to birth, I believe in the power of informed choice and support for making informed decisions about your care. I also recognize that every family and birth is unique, and I take pride in my dedication to customized support when holding space for a positive and empowering birth experience.” I’m Chawnie—a dedicated wife, twin mom, and DONA‑trained birth and postpartum doula with a deep passion for empowering families. My journey began while earning a biology degree at the University of West Georgia, which sparked my love for informed care. Since then, I’ve continued my education with intentional birth coaching, prenatal & postpartum yoga, and Pilates certifications—plus extensive training in breastfeeding support. As a twin mom myself, I intimately understand the unique needs of families expecting multiples—and I combine that lived experience with a commitment to evidence-based support. I’ve supported births of all kinds—natural, medicated, hospital, home, VBAC, and c-section—with a proud emphasis on honoring whatever birth path you choose. My approach is rooted in education, advocacy, and unshakeable calm. I aim to equip partners with practical tools, guide birthers through decisions with clarity, and ensure every voice in the room is heard. It’s an honor to usher families through such a sacred transition, fostering confidence, ease, and support from pregnancy through postpartum—and beyond.

Chawnie was the best doula our family could’ve asked for. Prior to and during the birth, she always helped us be as informed as possible. She also never pressured us into a single way of doing things, but acted as a guide for us to make the best decisions for me and my baby. Since my child was born, she’s remained a loving person I consider a part of our extended family and I would recommend her to anyone pregnant looking for a doula.
