We hired Michelle as a NCS to help us with overnight care for our newborn son during the first five weeks of his life. Michelle was with us five days per week and did an amazing job with our son - feeding, bathing, sleep training, etc. We are sad that her time with us has come to an end and would highly recommend hiring her to care for your newborn!

I live in Bethany, Connecticut with my husband and children, and it is my honor to walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. As your birth doula, my goal is to help you feel calm, supported, informed, and deeply confident in your body and your choices. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth, gently reminding you of your birth preferences when focus feels hard to maintain. I guide you with visualization, relaxation techniques, and comfort measures to help you stay grounded and connected between surges. After birth, I support those precious first moments—encouraging skin-to-skin bonding and assisting with baby-led, self-latching if you plan to breastfeed—so you can begin your parenting journey feeling empowered and supported. I am DONA International certified in Birth & Postpartum Care, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through Healthy Children, a Spinning Babies™ Certified Parent Educator, an Evidence Based Birth™ Instructor, a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and a Childbirth Educator. I also have extensive experience supporting families who use Hypnobirthing techniques and truly love helping parents create a birth experience that feels gentle, calm, and aligned with their vision. I would be honored to support you in achieving the birth you’ve dreamed of—one filled with trust, confidence, and compassionate care.

With over 20 years of experience supporting families across six countries, I bring a deep understanding of the diverse ways cultures nurture parent-child relationships. My journey into birth work began as a Health Community Worker, advocating for immigrant Latino families in New York. Later, while working at a mental health agency in Connecticut, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that nurturing, consistent, and responsive caregiving has on a child’s development. This realization fueled my passion for family support and led me to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula, ensuring families receive guidance and care from the very start of their parenting journey. Three years ago, I earned my certification in Perinatal Mental Health, allowing me to further support families through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Fluent in both Spanish and English, I am dedicated to creating a compassionate and culturally informed space for every family I serve.

Martha brought a level of joy, reassurance and experience to our daughters birth we didn’t even know we needed. Every step of the way through my pregnancy she checked in on me and provided the guidance I needed. Our birth changed pretty rapidly but Martha’s positivity and expertise made the entire experience more enjoyable. We were able to really focus on the birth while she helped guide those around us on decisions we made beforehand. Pregnancy doesn’t just stop after birth, the emotional and physical work continues after you’re home as well. Martha is there by your side through it all! She helped change my postpartum experience immensely, I cannot thank her enough. I will forever recommend The Knitting Doula!

Hi there! I'm Chelsea – a wife, stay-at-home parent of two, certified birth and postpartum doula, and babywearing educator based in Connecticut. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, my journey includes a master's degree in education and 11 years of teaching music to students from PreK through grade 12. My path to becoming a doula was inspired by the isolating and challenging nature of the postpartum months. Having navigated this journey myself, I realized the importance of support during this period. I aim to alleviate the isolation many face by offering guidance and understanding. Having been the first in my friend group to experience parenthood, I understand the complexities and uncertainties. My role is to provide a compass, steering you away from the confusing and sometimes overwhelming information available online. Join me in creating a supportive community, where I offer education, solidarity, empowerment, strength, and empathy to ease your transition into parenthood

Chelsea was referred to me by a postpartum doula in my first trimester. She was the only birth doula I interviewed because I knew right away that she was the right woman for the job: A no-BS, science-based, level-headed millennial with just the right dose of sarcasm. Ahead of birth, Chelsea visited with me and my husband twice to give us crash courses in labor/delivery, Spinning Baby techniques, and Baby Basics 101 (changing a diaper, installing and using a car seat, swaddling, and babywearing). Thanks to her prep, we felt far less anxious going into labor. At the hospital, it was clear that she has mastered the perfect balance of calm encouragement and strong advocacy with medical providers. She always stays professional, but is never afraid to push back on your behalf. I went through a pretty long and difficult labor but thanks to the support of Chelsea and her colleague Rachel, who joined us for the second half through delivery, I never felt afraid, powerless, or unsafe. After birth, we continued to retain Chelsea's services as long as we could as an overnight/postpartum doula, allowing my husband and I to get much-needed rest as we both went back to work immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chelsea for any doula needs.

Hi, I’m Ryann, a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and proud mom of four. I live on Long Island, where I’m raising my family and serving growing families in the community I love. My journey into motherhood has deeply shaped who I am and how I show up as a doula. I’ve experienced firsthand the joy, intensity, vulnerability, and transformation that birth and postpartum bring; and I carry that lived wisdom into every space I enter. Before stepping into this work full-time, I spent 13 years in corporate healthcare and hold a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. That experience gives me a strong foundation in organization, communication, and advocacy - skills I now bring into supporting families with clarity, confidence, and care. I’ve always had a passion for supporting women - for advocating when they don’t feel heard, for empowering them when they’re unsure, and for holding space when things feel overwhelming or unpredictable. My mission is to remind every mother that they are worthy of care, choice, and support — no matter how their journey unfolds. Whether you’re planning a home birth surrounded by loved ones, delivering in a hospital, choosing a cesarean, or navigating an unmedicated or medicated birth - I meet you where you are. There is no “right” way to bring a baby into the world, and I tailor my care to support your unique story, values, and vision. Through Four Roots Doula, I offer evidence-based education, emotional support, advocacy, and hands-on care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My role is to be a steady, calm presence - someone you can trust to show up fully, without judgment, with compassion and clarity. I am also CPR certified, adding an extra layer of preparedness and safety to the care I provide. Birth is beautiful. So is the strength that rises in you when you’re supported. I’d be honored to be part of your story.

These enduring relationships are a reflection of the trust, consistency, and personalized care that define my practice. I believe that truly exceptional postpartum support extends far beyond newborn care. Every family deserves a calm, reassuring presence, thoughtful guidance, and the flexibility to adapt to their evolving needs. My approach is intuitive, discreet, and tailored to each family's unique routines, preferences, and parenting philosophy, allowing parents to recover, rest, and embrace this extraordinary season with confidence and peace of mind. My professional expertise is complemented by the invaluable perspective of raising four children of my own, including singletons and multiples born through both spontaneous vaginal deliveries and Cesarean birth. This combination of extensive hands-on experience and personal insight enables me to anticipate the needs of both parents and newborns with confidence, compassion, and exceptional attention to detail. Supporting families during this precious time is more than my profession—it is my calling. I consider it a true privilege to provide the highest standard of newborn and postpartum care, creating an environment where families feel nurtured, supported, and confident from the very beginning.

The Best Support We Could Have Asked For! We had the immense blessing of working with Priya for both labor/delivery and postpartum care, and I can confidently say she was one of the greatest gifts of our entire journey into parenthood. As first-time parents, the transition can feel overwhelming, but her presence brought comfort, confidence, and so much peace into our home. From the very first moment, she was gentle, knowledgeable, and incredibly nurturing. Her care is rooted in deep Ayurvedic wisdom, and she combines it beautifully with modern newborn support. She went above and beyond in every way. ✨ Labor & Delivery Support Having her with me during labor and delivery made all the difference. She was calm, encouraging, and present through every contraction and every moment of uncertainty. Her guidance helped me stay mentally strong and physically supported. I truly don’t know how I would have done it without her. ✨ Newborn Care She cared for our baby with so much love — from Ayurvedic oil massages, creating gentle daily routines, helping with gas/colic relief, and supporting healthy sleep patterns. Every single thing was done so thoughtfully and respectfully. ✨ Postpartum Recovery For Me She didn’t just help with the baby — she took care of me as a mother: - Ayurvedic belly binding for core support - Warm oil massages - Herbal teas and foods that supported healing and milk production - Emotional and mental support on days I needed it most She made sure I rested, nourished my body, and felt seen and cared for — something every new mother deserves. ✨ Food & Meals Her freshly prepared Ayurvedic meals were amazing. Everything was warm, nourishing, and made to help my body recover and build strength. You can tell she puts her heart into every part of her work. ✨ Family Support She guided my husband, helped us understand newborn cues, and even shared tips that made our whole home more peaceful and soothing for the baby. Her knowledge is priceless. If you are considering Ayurvedic newborn care or postpartum support, don’t think twice. She is truly gifted at what she does. She combines expertise, intuition, and compassion in a way that is rare to find. We felt protected, encouraged, and cared for every single day. We absolutely love her and are so grateful for everything she brought into our lives. She will always be a special part of our birth and postpartum story. ❤️

Hi there! I am Giselle, a certified labor doula serving the Hudson Valley. I bring over four years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong focus on serving high-priority and vulnerable populations, including individuals living with HIV, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. Through this work, I have learned the importance of meeting people with respect, compassion, and cultural humility. I have worked alongside individuals of many backgrounds and religious beliefs, and my Faith has guided me in building genuine connections across differences by leading with empathy, service, and understanding. As a Latina and first-generation American, I deeply understand the importance of education, representation, and support within vulnerable communities. This background allows me to approach birth work with sensitivity, inclusivity, and a commitment to ensuring that every birthing person feels respected, supported, and cared for. I felt called to become a labor doula after the birth of my son. Although my baby and I were healthy, my experience was shaped by an unexpected emergency induction. Throughout my pregnancy, I had taken the time to educate myself and prepare, yet in that moment, much of what I had learned felt difficult to access without steady guidance and support. That experience revealed to me how vital it is to have someone present who can offer reassurance, clarity, and calm during such a vulnerable time. My calling to birth work is rooted not only in my personal experience, but also in my deep desire to serve others. We often hear that it takes a village to raise a child, yet we frequently overlook the importance of supporting the person bringing that child into the world. My purpose is to help support the birthing person emotionally, physically, and informationally, so they feel seen, empowered, and cared for during one of the most transformative moments of their lives. - Others often comment on my professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic qualities that have consistently helped build trust in meaningful and vulnerable moments. I am deeply committed to showing up with consistency, accountability, and care in every role I take on. Throughout my career in patient-focused industries, I have received positive feedback and recognition from multiple supervisors, as well as from spiritual leaders I’ve collaborated with on various projects. This feedback reflects not only my compassionate, client-centered approach, but also my dedication to excellence, follow-through, and long-term impact.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. Hi, I’m Angela — a mother, grandmother, and postpartum doula based in New Jersey, proudly serving families throughout the NJ/NY/CT tristate area. I am deeply passionate about supporting families during the tender and transformative postpartum period, offering calm, compassionate care when it’s needed most. I have supported over 40 families and their newborns, some through birth, and several others through overnight postpartum care and newborn support, helping parents rest, recover, and confidently adjust to their new reality. While I also provide daytime care, my primary focus is overnight support for families who need specialized, hands-on assistance during the early weeks after birth. My passion for postpartum care grew from my own journey into motherhood, when I realized how essential it is for birthing parents to feel nurtured, supported, and truly seen after birth. What began as caring for family and friends naturally evolved into my calling as a postpartum doula. Later on, I expanded my work to support expectant mothers throughout pregnancy and birth, offering compassionate physical and emotional care. In addition to my doula work, I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children and teenagers, along with nearly two decades of volunteer service supporting parents, children, and teens in my community. I approach every family with warmth, respect, and a wholehearted commitment to helping you feel confident, supported, and cared for during this beautiful new chapter.

Claire was an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our birth experience. Claire's experience and guidance helped us thoughtfully create a birth plan that met our goals, which included managing my own expectations. As these things go, my birth plan was merely the road map for a very different series of events, and every step of the way, Claire was incredibly supportive in both the physical and emotional elements of the birth of our daughter. Claire’s presence and advocacy was instrumental to my husband and I communicating effectively with the hospital team and her support following the birth was immeasurable, both in hospital and at home post-partum. Her contributions to our birth exceeded my expectations, especially under unexpected circumstances. Claire's practice of providing us with evidence-based information needed to make our own informed decisions was grounding and invaluable. We are so thankful for Claire's support throughout our first pregnancy and birth.

Christina was absolutely amazing throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. She was always available when I needed her and made me feel incredibly supported and cared for. My birth ended up being very traumatic, and having Christina there as a source of comfort and support meant more to me than I can express. She continued to be there for me postpartum as well, always checking in and answering my questions. I’m so grateful she was part of my journey and would recommend her to any expecting mom.

— cynthia l., review of Christina R. CD, CBS September 2026

Throughout my pregnancy, I always knew I wanted to hire a doula for birth support, and finding Julia felt like a sign from the universe. From our prenatal sessions and newborn care education to the moments after our son Theo was born, she brought such a calming, reassuring presence to our lives. When we learned that Theo was breech and that I would need a C-section, Julia was an incredible source of support. She helped me process the change in plans, navigate my emotions, and feel confident and empowered going into a birth experience that looked different than I had originally imagined. Julia met us exactly where we were and was both an incredible teacher and source of support. She offered practical guidance, emotional reassurance, and confidence when we needed it most, always making us feel seen, supported, and capable. She shared her expertise while helping us trust our own instincts as new parents. We are so grateful for Julia’s care, warmth, and knowledge during one of the most important chapters of our lives. We recommend her to any growing family. S.B. Brooklyn Mom
