I love spending time at the beach, going for walks outside, a little coffee with my cream, fuzzy socks, loud country music, driving with the windows down, bonfires, sweater weather, cooking and baking from scratch, salted caramel, mom groups and Gilmore Girls. Hi, I’m Meggie. My desire to become a doula began with my own birth experience. After an uncommunicative, uninformed, and frightening first delivery, I knew that if I was going to grow my family, my next birth needed to be completely different. I dove into educating and advocating for myself, and learned all about comfort measures. I carried those lessons into my second delivery. During that birth, I felt empowered and confident. I knew then that I wanted to help as many mothers as possible feel informed, empowered, and supported through pregnancy and beyond. I have been a birth doula for ten years, a CLC for six years and a postpartum doula for three years. I came to birthwork after the births of my two oldest children- we had excellent support through two very different birth experiences and that put me on this path to supporting other families. I trained with Therese Hak-Kuhn of ToLabor, and while in the midst of having children attended births occasionally for a few years, and have been doing full time doula work since 2022. I work at a group practice with an excellent backup system. My team provides five prenatal touchpoints and on call support starting at 38 weeks until your baby is born, as well as two postpartum visits. I support clients in hospital and out of hospital settings. Between the training I received at the ToLabor workshop and my own personal experiences, I grew to shape my philosophy on what my role is. Having experienced a wide variety of outcomes welcoming my own five children - one unmedicated hospital birth, one home birth transfer cesarean, and three home birth VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) I've learned there is no one right way to give birth! My goal is to get to know each client as well as I can to best anticipate your needs during labor and birth! No two clients are the same just as no two births are the same, and knowing your preferences and how you take in information helps me show up the best way possible when you need me most!

I provide prenatal, birth, postpartum and reproductive care for all birthing people and their families in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in February 2026 and I’m currently working towards my certification. In the summer of 2025, I became a mom and was privileged to be able to give birth to my son in the comfort of our home. The powerful experience of laboring in the arms of my partner and my mother, surrounded by an incredible team of midwives left a strong imprint on me. I decided to step into the birth care space because I want all birthing people to have the same level of support my people have done for me, who have kept me held throughout labor and nursed me back through postpartum. I am deeply aware of the inequity and challenges facing many birthing people in the US, especially to our black, brown, indigenous and immigrant families. I also realize that the solution does not lie in asking birthing people and their families to “get more educated” and “find more support”. What we need a system-wide policy change that address core issues: guaranteed paid family leave, affordable childcare, and affordable medical care. This work is inherently political, because too many birthing people have been paying the price with their own bodies and babies. Birth work is my prayer that we all receive the love, care and support we deserve, no matter who we are or where we come from. I decided I wanted to Start my birthworker journey, when my unmedicated natural birth turned into a emergency C-section. Even though, I had labored at a birth center with 2 midwives. The decides to transfer me after several days of prodromal labor. My experience at the hospital was very traumatic, and left me unaware and sad. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about my experience. But my doula encouraged me to talk about it. I realized I wanted to be for other pregnant women and make a difference in how we care for pregnant women during and after their pregnancy. As a POC birthworker, I am dedicated to help women of all walks connect better with their bodies and babies,throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.my mission is to prepare women by educating them about their birth rights, pregnancy/labor & medical interventions.I want women to feel more empowered and confident in every aspect about their birth. Hi, I'm Chloe! I am a mom to two beautiful children and a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through Stillbirthday. In my free time, you'll find me reading, baking, or taking care of our little homestead. I have dreamed of being a mom since I was a child. I knew for a very long time that it was a calling; I discovered doulas and thought, "I would love to do that." I was blessed to have a wonderful one support me through birth, and that only further lit the fire within me to chase that dream and help support moms through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
