Nearly every drink on the market comes in a plastic bottle. Juice, Water, Milk. We all have learned that microplastics is not healthy. Can we please have drinking products in aluminum cans with bpa free liners undetectable to taste or glass bottles? What are the consequences on a mothers body with added sodium and lots of plastics? When a mother consumes these products while pregnant does this put your health and your babies health on the best track? Is there a simple solution that all mothers can use? We are all told by our medical team to drink more water and stay hydrated. BUT what does that really mean? I explain to my moms that honestly that is the most important question you could ask. I break down what water does for you and your baby. We go over possible complications from dehydration. As a homebirth midwife we are eager to to learn about the family and what moves them to birth at home. We walk with the family throughout pregnancy and give as much information as we can get our hands on to share with them so they can make informed decisions about their birth care. We do all of our visits and care in home. We spend an hour or more if needed at each visit. We cherish this time of intimacy. Health, through food, exercise, and herbs, is our utmost focus. We are continually trying to learn and grow and share with our clients all we can. Some clients prefer to have co-care with an OB OR nurse midwife while others want nothing to do with any hospital care (unless a case of transport).
