I am Chelsey Hernandez Whitcomb, CLD, HCHD. I graduated with my B.A. with Honors in History from Houston Baptist University in 2009 and taught school World History, AP World History, and AP Psychology for 12 years before leaving teaching to work from home in marketing. In March 2024, I realized how much I missed serving families, so I decided to work as a doula and childbirth educator full time. As an educator at heart, I believe continual education is the cornerstone to our growth as individuals and it is my hope to share my knowledge and experience with you during this special time. I offer personalized prenatal, birth, and postpartum support to women and their families. My goal is to give you and your family the support and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about the care you receive during your pregnancy and throughout the labor process. I completed my doula training with Shannon Stellhorn of A Sacred Journey Midwifery Services and Doula Training Program in Houston, Texas, in February 2018 and finished all certification requirements in October 2019. In April 2018, I completed a training on Integrating Acupressure Comfort Measures into Your Doula Practice for Pregnancy Care, Labor Support, and Postpartum Care, with Nicholas Olow, M.S., L.Ac. and in August 2019 I attended a Spinning Babies Workshop consisting of 14 hours taught by Rachel Shapiro, CPM, LM, SpBT, to be a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator. In February 2021, I also attended a virtual workshop with Adilah Yelton to offer Bengkung Belly Binding to my clients. I am proud to say that as of December 17, 2021, I am officially a trained Hypnobabies® Hypno-Doula after scoring a 100% on my Hypno-Doula Training and am able to assist mothers who have already taken a hypno-childbirth class such as Hypnobabies® or Hypnobirthing. My professional listing can also be found on the Hypnobabies® website under "Find a Hypno-Doula." Additionally, I am CPR certified for adults and infants. I hope by continuing my education in various aspects of birth and postpartum care that I will be able to better assist my clients during their pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. When I found out I was pregnant I knew absolutely nothing about pregnancy or giving birth, but Elissa gave me all the information and support I needed to feel confident and ready. Through our meetings and conversations throughout my pregnancy I felt so at ease knowing I had her In my corner. She's extremely knowledgeable, comforting, and reliable. She came to my house to help me through early stages of labor, and eventually met me at the hospital. She set up my hospital room for me to create such a peaceful space, and made sure my care team knew my birth plan. It made all the difference knowing she would be my advocate, so I was able to focus solely on myself and getting through labor. She helped me through every round of contractions, and to this day I can still hear her voice reminding me of my strength. She visited me a few weeks after giving birth, and I knew if I had any questions I could always go to her. I am so thankful for her, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Helping women work with their bodies and learn how strong they are during childbirth is my most treasured role so far in this lifetime. I love supporting women throughout their pregnancies, teaching them to listen to their bodies, and helping them feel empowered during labor and delivery. I’ve been a certified Birth Doula for 9 years (now certified under Birth Boot Camp) and a Licensed Massage Therapist for 11 years. My duty is to provide a continuous source of comfort, encouragement, and support, both emotional and physical, during labor. My goal is to help families have a safe, healthy, positive labor experience. Whether your goal is to be educated and well-prepared before your birth, to have comfort and relief during your pregnancy, to reduce medical intervention during birth or you simply want support during labor and delivery, I am happy to help you have the birth that YOU desire. During your labor and delivery, I will serve as a voice of experience, help you with relaxation so you can work with your body during the labor process, advise you on different labor positions, and offer non-medical pain management techniques. Let’s talk about how I can help you have the birth experience that you want!

Hiring Kim was one of the best decisions we made while I was pregnant! We initially hesitated on hiring a doula since I wouldn’t be getting maternity pay for very long (and babies are expensive!), but looking back it’s hard to imagine Kim not being a part of our birth. My husband and I moved to College Station less than a year ago. While my family was planning on traveling to see us from out of state the week of our due date, baby decided to arrive 3 weeks early! Kim supported me through some arduous pitocin contractions, helped us advocate for our wishes, and kept my husband hydrated, caffeinated, and fed, which enabled him to best support me. Before the more painful contractions started my husband was even able to run home to grab more hospital bag items and let our dog out, and I’m so happy Kim was there with me so I didn’t have to be on my own as there were quite a few unexpected decisions to make due to the early arrival. I would recommend Kim in a heartbeat! She’s also a great massage therapist. Baby’s early arrival thwarted me scheduling another prenatal massage — will have to schedule a postpartum one soon :)

Hi, my name is Katherine Ellis and I am a Birth Bootcamp certified birth and postpartum doula! Birth is a beautiful process that I believe is meant to be celebrated and embraced. I adore working with my moms and helping create an environment where they feel empowered & in charge of their pregnancy and labor. I believe education removes fear, and I love getting to walk alongside of my moms and families throughout pregnancy and labor answering questions, being an advocate, supporting them mentally, physically, emotionally, and being a place where they can feel comfortable enough to embrace the new chapter. I truly love what I do and would love to discuss any questions you may have about services I offer. Whether you’re a first time mom or an experienced mother who just wants a different experience, I would love to be here for you & to support you through such a milestone of life. Birth belongs to women—not doctors, not nurses, not doulas or OBs, and I’m here to help create a place where you can have the birth you dream of! Postpartum also has a special place in my heart. This time is all about rest, nourishment, and recovery. I am here to make sure that you are taken care of, your house is in order, and you and your little baby are bonding! I am happy to wash bottles, pump parts, help prepare meals and snacks, perform light housework, or just take care of your baby while you rest! It is completely up to you and your needs.

Yasmin Balmaceda

¡Hola! Hello everyone, my name is Yasmin and I am a Postpartum Doula. I split my time between The Woodlands, TX, north of Houston, and Walnut Creek, CA, East of San Francisco in the Bay Area. I speak English and Spanish, we can communicate in whichever language you feel most at home with. I am passionate about the postpartum period, specifically the first 40 days, and providing care to nurture the mother back to health after giving birth. My passion is cooking and self-care. We will sit down together to plan menus to aid in replenishing you and promote healing to your body. In addition, I will fill your freezer with ready to eat meals to enjoy when I'm gone, focus on your rest to promote mental ease and relaxation, and provide an environment where you are being tended to and taken care of. My role strongly focuses on the recovery and healing of the mother. My interests in continuing to expand my abilities have directed me to continue my studies and expand into a holistic traditional approach to my postpartum work. I would love to be alongside you as you make your journey through this transformative time in your life.

I don’t even know where to begin, hiring Yasmin as my postpartum doula was truly one of the best decisions I made as a first-time mom. I had an unexpected emergency C-section, my family and in-laws live out of state, and I came home feeling vulnerable, sore, and overwhelmed. I had a lot of anxiety during pregnancy and it continued after having my baby. Yasmin stepped in and filled my home with warmth, comfort, and the kind of support I didn’t even realize I needed. Before I even arrived home with my baby, she prepared my space so it felt peaceful and welcoming. Walking into that environment after surgery made an immediate difference in my recovery. She even recommended supplements to help my c-section heal. In those early days, Yasmin made it possible for me and my husband to actually rest. Even thought my husband was working from home, I needed someone who could focus on caring for me and our baby. Yasmin was that person. When I was in too much pain to sit up, she gently brought the baby to my bedside so I could breastfeed or bond without straining myself. Those small acts of care meant everything during such a vulnerable time. I also struggled with low breast milk production at first, and Yasmin supported me with so much patience and knowledge. She made me special teas and the most delicious, plant-forward meals. I didn’t realize how much fiber and nourishment my body needed after birth, but she did. Her meals were genuinely healing — comforting, flavorful, and exactly what my recovering body needed. She was also kind enough to make several freezer meals for me and my family to have once she left. She listened, encouraged me, and created a calm environment where I felt supported, seen, and truly cared for. I can honestly say my postpartum experience, especially recovering from a C-section would have been incredibly difficult without her. Yasmin helped me heal, nourished my body, and cared for me and my baby with care. I am grateful for her and wholeheartedly recommend her to any new parent. Every new mom deserves help and support postpartum.

Hi, I’m Misty — a birth doula and placenta encapsulation specialist passionate about helping families feel supported, confident, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Before becoming a doula, I spent over a decade in consulting and client care, where I learned the importance of truly listening, building trust, and providing steady support through times of change. These skills naturally evolved into my work as a doula, where I now have the privilege of guiding families through one of life’s most meaningful transitions. My mission is to offer care that is both compassionate and empowering. With over 10 years of professional experience supporting people through major life moments, I bring a calm, grounding presence to every birth space. I believe every mother deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported — emotionally, physically, and spiritually — during this journey. As a mother of three and grandmother of three, I understand firsthand the range of emotions that come with pregnancy and birth. My goal is to help mothers experience a more peaceful, confident, and connected transition into motherhood than I did myself. Through personalized doula care and placenta encapsulation, I’m honored to help families recover, bond, and thrive.

Misty is an amazing doula! I chose her carefully after interviewing several doulas, and I was beyond impressed. My goal was an unmediated birth and Misty gave me the comfort and confidence to achieve that. I would not have been able to do it with out her support. I also loved how she included my husband throughout my labor and helped him know what to do and how to support me. She also helped me understand what my body was doing and taught me to trust my self which was what made my entire experience so empowering. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! We will send her pictures for the next 30 years that’s how much she means to us now.

Jaelyn is an angel straight from heaven. I live across the country from my family, and she showed up as my best friend and my family during my delivery and postpartum. She was a tremendous advocate for me during my birth. I was committed to having a natural birth at a birth center, but after 18 hours of labor we had to take it to the hospital because of unavoidable complications. She did absolutely everything to protect and support me at the hospital, while I was pretty much delirious and struggling to make decisions, she was bold and brave standing up from my rights and needs the whole time. For example, the doctors wanted me to go straight to Pitocin to strengthen my ability to push, but Jaelyn knew I wanted to avoid medical interventions, so like a genius she instructed the doctors to give me a breast pump instead because pumping can have the same strengthening effect in an all-natural way. I didn’t even know that, but she did. All through the day and night at the birth center she kept me fed and hydrated, tirelessly held the detachable shower head for me for literally 3 hours straight as I was attempting a water birth, and gave me massages and helped me through all kinds of creative birthing positions. During my extremely challenging birth experience, feeling her hand holding mine was the most comforting and reassuring thing. Her energy was calm always. And then, low and behold postpartum at the hospital, she was my first visitor bringing me a gift bag full of beautiful high quality baby items, a huge bouquet of flowers, and a deluxe fruit tray which I devoured. She’s one of those friends who knows what you need without you having to say anything. She was born to be a doula, and she even remembered my dog’s name and asked about her which cheered me up so much! Plus, with my pregnancy Medicaid all of her services were free! She has a great sense of humor and made me laugh so hard during her hospital visits that they could definitely hear us in the next room! Anyway, God bless you Jaelyn and thank you for treating me with such kindness, love, and respect. And any of you looking for the best doula ever who will seriously have your back, Jaelyn is your girl.
