Kristin Heywood

Hello! Thank you for being here! My name is Kristin, I’ve been on a mission to encourage women to take back birth and own their unique stories through yoga, breath, reiki, Ayurveda healing and traditional remedies. *Please note I only companion women in births at home outside the system*

Recent review

Dearest Kristin, I am writing you to thank you for the gift you have given my family, myself specifically. It was a no brainer investing in a doula for this second pregnancy, and everyone was right - we had no regrets picking you! A clear comfortable contract didn’t prepare me for the support you provided. Though we hired you for post-partum care, you were a support during my very hard pregnancy. You provided me validation, connection, spiritual healing, not to mention the massages my body so desperately needed! Deciding whether to be induced was a huge mountain for us. I was high risk and my body had enough. You helped me understand my decision with love and compassion. You were so flexible with scheduling to respond to my extended hospital stay. You supported me through the phone and I felt safe leaving the hospital to come home to your care. A day with you nourished our family physically and spiritually. We were so shattered from the trauma of the birth and extended stay in the hospital. You supported our sleep, eating, and encouraged ways for us to connect while we were transitioning to a bigger family. Cooking for us, cleaning for us, yoga with my toddler while my husband and I could regroup. Having you for a few overnights helped so much with my healing and recovery. I am so grateful for investing in my recovery and choosing you. Anna

Hello! I'm Benna, a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and founder of Merry Mornings Doula Support based in Pickering, serving families across Durham Region and the GTA. I provide calm, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and evidence-based support to help make your pregnancy, labor and early mornings with a newborn feel a little merrier. I am independently certified under Carrot insurance coverage and I offer full-spectrum care under my own practice from prenatal visits and childbirth education, to continuous labour and birth support at home or hospital, and nurturing postpartum and breastfeeding support. I'm a mobile doula and I come to you, wherever you need me.

Recent review

I had the pleasure of having Benna as my doula, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She came in as a replacement on the day of my delivery as the Doula I was working with got sick. From the moment she arrived, she took over seamlessly and made me feel completely at ease. Her kind, calm, and reassuring presence immediately radiated through the room and helped me feel comfortable during what was such an intense and emotional time. She was incredibly hands-on and attentive throughout the entire experience. She kept me engaged, shared her own stories, birth intention activity and experiences, guided me through different positions and practices, and was always looking for ways to make me more comfortable. She genuinely went the extra mile. What I especially appreciated was how she supported my husband as well. She helped him understand how he could support me, which made us feel like a team rather than leaving him unsure of what to do. Even though she joined us unexpectedly on the day of delivery, she never felt like a replacement. She brought such warmth, confidence, and professionalism to the experience, and I am genuinely grateful that she was there for one of the most important days of our lives. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who is calm, compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly hands-on. ❤️

Schevon Sandy-Mitchell

As a mother of twin girls, she knows firsthand that parenting can be both beautiful and overwhelming. She also knows the difference it makes when people show up with practical support, encouragement, and care that lightens the load. Those experiences inspired her journey into postpartum work and continue to shape the way she serves families today. Schevon brings a calming presence, a listening ear, and a genuine love for caring for others. Whether she's preparing a nourishing meal influenced by her Trinidadian roots, tidying up while you rest, holding space for the emotions that often come with new parenthood, or simply reminding you that you're doing better than you think, her goal is always the same: to help you feel supported and seen. Grounded by faith, gratitude, and a deep belief in the power of community, Schevon approaches postpartum care with compassion and intention. For families who welcome it, she's happy to offer prayer or words of encouragement, but above all, she wants every parent to feel cared for, strengthened, and never alone. Her hope is that when she leaves your home, you've been able to take a deep breath, get some rest, enjoy a good meal, and feel just a little more like yourself again.

I will always recommend Shev to anyone looking for delicious, well-prepared meals. With Nourish, you are not simply being provided a meal, you are being cared for with intention and ease!

Tisa Waldron

Packages from $300 · $400/hr

Hi, I’m Tisa. I am a certified labour and Postpartum Doula and proud mom of six beautiful children. I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success. My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son. Due to a series of events that could have very well crippled me only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone. My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The Postpartum stage isn't a race, it's about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way. When I am not attending a birth or working overnight postpartum shifts, you can most likely find me in the comfort of my home surrounded by my family. My house is filled with laughter, playful banter, persistent chirps from my Lovebirds and Conure, yapping can be heard from the family Pomeranian; Mochi. I enjoy worship nights held by my church, reading webtoons, soaking up k-dramas and building miniature wooden puzzles and book-nooks.

I cannot recommend Isabel Nantaba enough as a birth and postpartum doula. From the moment we met her, she brought a sense of calm, confidence, and compassion that immediately put me at ease. Hello! My name is Lauren, the hands on and heart led birth and postpartum doula in Durham Region. I'm also a big homebody who loves to read, craft my own tea blends, make natural skincare products and candles, and spend time in nature as much as possible. Becoming a doula felt like stepping into a path that was already laid out for me. I have always felt a fierce protection for other women, and connected easily and deeply with the women in my life. Combined with my interest in herbal healing and natural remedies, my previous work with and love for children and babies, my need to feed everyone I love home cooked, nourishing meals, and my interest in birth & the medical system, I realized that I already was a doula, I just needed to take the leap onto the path.   Early in 2025, I completed a 10 day doula training retreat in Costa Rica, which was a beautiful way to begin my new career. In the past couple of years I have been amazed by the women I work with, the births I have experienced by their sides, and the cocoon of postpartum. I love this work! I believe that birth and postpartum are some of the most transformational and impactful moments of a woman’s life, and they deserve to be positive experiences. Feeling cared for, understood, nourished, and supported are essential in the journey from Maiden, to Mother (and from mother of one, to two, to three…).  If you’re looking for a doula you want to feel cared for by, someone you feel comfortable texting “is this my mucous plug?,” and someone who knows how important the little details are and takes care of them so you don’t have to (like LED candles at your birth and a warm cup of tea postpartum), then hello! Now, Id love to get to know you.

Lauren is an experienced birthing rockstar. She went above and beyond for myself and our family. During a winter storm, a last min VBAC and she was there within an hour, no questions asked. Lauren is the best doula I know and I look up to her as a human.

Chipo was our night doula when we had our little one. She helped me navigate everything from holding the baby, to latching. Baby L is my first. She is deeply knowledgeable and her decade of experience showed. My husband and I were uneasy about bringing someone in the home at first, but having Chipo and the way she cared for us, really changed our minds. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
