I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. This is where my true passion lies—to provide personalized, compassionate care that honors each family's unique needs and choices. I am genuinely excited to be a part of your journey, guiding you through the miraculous experience of childbirth with unwavering support, respect, and empowerment. I look forward to connecting with you!

Having Danielle as my midwife was the best decision I could’ve made during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She became someone I could trust deeply over the course of our relationship. Shes attentive, thorough, personal, and supportive through every decision or milestone. I honestly think that because of her help in preparing me and getting me the personalized care that I needed, my home birth became the birth I had prayed for!! I can’t recommend her enough to any one looking to have a home birth or who is in need of more personalized care to have the healthiest and safest birth possible!! I will 100% be asking for her again next round :)

My philosophy as a midwife is rooted in both extensive personal experience and dedicated education. As a mother of five boys, including two natural births, one of which was born at home, I've lived through the very experiences I now guide others through. This invaluable perspective, combined with my Associate's in Midwifery from the MEAC Accredited Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and a Bachelor's from Texas Tech, has equipped me to serve as a midwife since 2022. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where birthing individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed choices throughout their pregnancy and birth journey.

My pregnancy/birth plus postpartum journey and experience with Brittney has been exceptional. I’m so glad I got connected to her. Brittney is caring, a great listener, flexible, understanding, and overall provided my family and I an excellent service as my midwife. We connected off the rip and I’ve enjoyed our time together; she has truly become someone I feel comfortable turning to if I need anything or have concerns even after our visits have come to a close. After having my baby boy, she was there for me regarding all the questions and concerns I had with her very timely responses. We had great conversations, she provided great suggestions/advice, flexible when appointments had to change, helped me feel in control of my experience and so much more. If you are looking for a midwife to guide you through your pregnancy journey to meet your baby, Brittney Clay is definitely the RIGHT ONE for you! I absolutely love her😭💕

Hello! My name is Tab’itha, better known as Tabby, and I’m a passionate certified professional midwife currently residing in Mesquite, Texas. I was born and raised in the Stop 6 area of Fort Worth, TX, and I am a proud mother of three teenage girls. From a young age, I always wanted to be a "baby doctor." My grandmother would often say, "You will be a doctor, and your sister will be a lawyer." Although I encountered quite a few roadblocks and detours along the way, I eventually found my way back to what my grandmother had always believed in, but in a way that resonates with me even more—becoming a midwife. I later discovered that midwifery was in my blood; my great-grandmother was a trusted midwife in her small community in Mississippi, which further inspired my journey. I graduated from Southwest Tech with an associate degree in Health Science and Midwifery in December 2024 and passed my NARM exam in April 2025, becoming fully licensed as a midwife in Texas. I am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s in Nursing at Arizona College, further enhancing my skills and knowledge in healthcare. My journey into birth work began in 2018 when I trained as a birth doula through DONA. As a doula, I have attended over 150 in-hospital and out-of-hospital births. When COVID peaked, I was fortunate enough to continue support in the hospital. It was during this time that I realized I needed to acquire the education and skills to become a community midwife sooner than I had originally planned. During my schooling, I attended an additional 95 births and worked with several well-respected midwives and OB-GYNs in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, gaining invaluable experience. I have also acquired skills and experience as a bereavement and cesarean/VBAC support specialist, allowing me to provide comprehensive care to families during significant moments in their lives. I believe in the power of compassionate care and informed choices, striving to create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients. My end goal is to become a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, bringing holistic and woman-centered care to communities that lack representation, including the area where I grew up. As an avid homeschooler, I enjoy engaging with my daughters in their education while also finding joy in my hobbies such as sewing, crafts, hosting workshops for young girls, and assisting in the offices I hold in my church. My goal is to continue growing in my practice while providing exceptional care to those I serve.

I’m a little late to writing this review since I had my baby in December 2025, but I’ve been meaning to share how amazing my experience with Christina Buchanan was! My first birth was in a hospital, and I remember feeling like I didn’t really have much say in the decisions being made. Having Christina as my midwife was such a completely different experience. She really believes in moms making their own choices, while still giving you honest, knowledgeable advice and making sure you feel confident in those choices. I always felt heard, respected, and supported. I gave birth in my living room, and the whole experience was honestly so empowering. Christina’s bedside manner is incredible, and I felt so comfortable and safe with her there. One thing that still amazes me is that within two hours of giving birth, my house was completely spotless. You honestly would have had no idea a baby had just been born in my living room! She was so respectful of my home and just took care of everything. After having both a hospital birth and a home birth, I can confidently say I would choose a home birth with Christina again in a heartbeat. She made the entire experience so positive and empowering, and I’m so thankful I found her. Christina is truly the best, and I would recommend her to anyone considering a home birth.

I am Shanna Hinrichs, and my story of community birth began over 20 years ago when I began supporting families as a doula, lactation consultant, and now midwife. I have known I was called to help women bring their babies earthside since I was a young child. I didn't know what that would look like, but I was fortunate to witness the intimate and precious home birth of a dear friend. That experience revealed my path as a birth worker and ignited my desire to serve women and their families in their most powerful and vulnerable moments. I am fulfilled by serving my incredible clients as their families grow. Attending births builds my trust over and over in women's bodies and their ability to transform and heal. I respect the responsibility of being a midwife and recognize the privilege of facilitating an experience that best supports my client's wishes. I believe that educated, informed choice is the best way for families to become empowered and make the best decisions for their pregnancy. That belief has afforded me the privilege to serve on the board of different cesarean awareness groups to help provide evidence-based information so families can make the appropriate choice for themselves and their current pregnancy. I am also a strong advocate for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC) when it is the most appropriate choice. I was born and raised in Garland but have had the privilege to live in a few different states. I am married and have given birth to 9 children, each with their own distinct story. Having experienced 9 very different births and breastfeeding journeys, I have lots of hands-on personal experience to offer to you. When not engrossed in the birth world, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 4 school-age kids still at home, and our dog and cats, as well as playing in the great outdoors, eating delicious food, and making our home in Rowlett as peaceful as a home with 4 kids (still living at home), a dog, and 2 cats can be. I would love the opportunity to chat with you to see if I would be the best midwife for you and your family. If we decide that I am not the best fit, I am more than happy to help you find the care provider you deserve as you travel this beautiful journey.

Shanna delivered my third baby. She is an amazing and caring midwife! She is knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you and your family. She always answered my questions with detail and evidence backed information. At my birth she was fantastic in helping my husband catch our baby and managing me when I had some difficulty immediately postpartum. She was a huge blessing in my postpartum and understands the importance of support in the postpartum.

Cathy Rude

I have been a midwife since 1993. I started my journey toward midwifery when I was told, at the ripe old age of 19, that I would likely never be able to bear my own children due to a severe case of endometriosis. I had numerous surgeries, medication regimes, and heartbreaking disappointments month after month, then year after year. During this time, I read everything I could get my hands on about birth, pregnancy, options in labor and delivery. Finally, I started learning about midwives! Prior to this, I had never known a midwife nor I had ever talked to anyone who had used a midwife. Yet, I was completely enamored with the ideas of “with woman”. This was before the time of the internet and my only sources of information were bookstores or the library. I bought the original issue of “Our Bodies, Ourselves” in 1973 and felt a call to something bigger and more life-changing than I could have ever imagined. The only method of becoming a midwife that I was aware of, was to first go to nursing school to get a BSN and then go to a midwifery school for a Masters in Midwifery. At that time there were no midwifery schools in Texas; the nearest one to us was in Mississippi! I had already started taking my prerequisites for a BS and by 1977 I was accepted into the clinical program for UT Nursing. By this time, my husband Gary and I had been actively, yet unsuccessfully, trying to conceive for six long years. The crushing disappointment was more than I could deal with any longer. I decided to give up that dream and focus on becoming a midwife to help other women have their sweet babies. Two months later, I discovered that I was pregnant! Over the next 17 years, God blessed us with five more beautiful babies; one for each long year of infertility. However, this also delayed my dream of becoming a midwife. So, when I had an opportunity to take a course offered by the Texas Dept of Health to become a documented midwife, I jumped at it. I began this program in 1993. Later the same year, I started a 3 yr apprenticeship with a midwife friend who had recently moved to Texas. I also took a course through the Association of Texas Midwives and later passed one of the first NARM exams offered to become a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife). I was the first midwife in Katy and had a thriving home birth practice for many years. In 2003, I accepted a new apprentice as well as a new birth assistant. This was the beginning of a great collaboration with Natalie and Connie. I’ve been blessed on a daily basis by both of them, and am so grateful for their wisdom, love and support since we came together in 2010, to open Katy Birth Center. This endeavor has truly been a labor of love. My husband Gary and I have been married since 1971 and have enjoyed the years raising our three girls and three boys. All of our children are now married, with the exception of the baby, Meredith who graduated from TX State in 2018 and works in nutrition and exercise wellness in Dallas. My children have blessed me with seven beautiful grandchildren, four of whom I was honored to midwife into the world. I look forward to as many more as God chooses to give! We are very involved in our church and feel blessed to be a part of several ministries there. I also feel a connection to my sister midwives and have been very involved in both local and statewide midwifery organizations over the years. I’ve served on the local level in our Houston area midwifery group as President, Vice-President and Secretary. I’ve also served on the statewide ATM organization as an Area Representative, Secretary and Vice President. Working with these committed midwives to further midwifery and protect our profession has been such an honor, albeit, a huge commitment of time and invested effort. I am excited to see the new generation of midwives come up and take their place alongside the more seasoned midwives. I love mothers and their babies, and I am so very grateful for the path God led me on all those years ago to be able to encourage, minister, educate and support women, and their innate ability to birth their babies safely in the ways they desire.
