How would you like to welcome in new life? I receive my education by sitting at the feet of, and training with, midwives across may different pathways of midwifery (such as CPM, TM, CNM, and LM). These wisdom holders carry over 10+ years of experience, and I have had the honor to travel globally from Ghana, West Africa, the Caribbean's, South Florida, and Georgia, USA, to immerse myself in learning the most optimal prenatal and postpartum care, as well as serving families, from them. The commonality within pregnancy and postpartum care however has been the centering of the mother's mental, emotional, and physical heath, the well-being of baby, and the communal nature of birth and postpartum itself. When choosing me as part of your care team, you are also choosing a team of three: two trained birth and postpartum care providers (myself included) and a certified Chef- because it takes a village. We will always conduct an initial meet in-person, if local, or virtually, if remote to see if we are the best team for you, or offer referrals if needed. My name is Samantha Dorleus, and I’m from Miami, Florida. I’m the youngest of my older siblings, and growing up, I’ve always taken on the role of caretaker for my younger cousins. As my older sister and brother had children, it became second nature for me to help care for my nephews. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I was ready for the journey ahead. Becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience of my life! Watching my daughter grow from a tiny baby in my belly to the beautiful little sunflower she is today has been truly incredible. Now that she’s 5 years old, I know I still have so much to learn as she continues to grow, but I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life. With my extensive experience caring for children since a young age, I’ve worked in after-school programs, summer camps, and preschools since 2015. Caring for children is something I’ve always loved and admired. I am now certified as a Doula and look forward to providing services to elevate and advocate for mothers, especially by offering postpartum/prenatal care. After enjoying that field for many years I wanted to specialize in OB/GYN sonography. Plans were put on hold as I welcomed my blessing.
