In reflection I remember every single individual that was involved in not just my labor but my education, comfortability, and exciting changes. I remember feeling so excited but more importantly, so ready. That confidence and clarity as a first time mother is what I want for every woman. As a Doula, it is my passion to teach, encourage and care for the mothers in my care just as my family did for me. I am currently a postpartum nurse and mother of four young girls. After nursing school at Ohio State I commissioned as a Navy Nurse. While in the Navy I worked on many units from Pediatrics, ER, NICU, postpartum, adolescent psych, and general med-surg. I found a passion for Peds/NICU and postpartum because I grew to love teaching and empowering parents to feel confident in their roles. I have loved all four of my non-medicated birthing and postpartum experiences. Outside of work I am a full-time mom, currently homeschooling my oldest daughter (6yo). As a family we are passionate about our Christian faith, very involved in our local church, and we love to spend time outside adventuring.

While I love being an Stna, State Tested Nurse Aide and Esthetician, I have always been curious about birth and the female anatomy. So, I decided to get certified. I have always had the heart for taking care of people and can't wait to care for you and your family. When I was little, my younger sister and I would pretend like I was the doctor and she was getting ready to have a baby. My sister would go to check ups and I would give her an "ultrasound" and eventually she would birth the baby, a doll put under her shirt, and she would come back with her doll for a postpartum checkup. Since I was a little girl taking care of moms and babies has been my dream. I’m a birth and postpartum doula who has worked with infants, young children, and their families for over 20 years. I received my birth doula training through DONA International and my postpartum training and certification through ProDoula. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development, all clearances, and am CPR certified. My path to becoming a doula is a recent one, however I’ve always had a passion for learning about pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care. For much of my career, I have focused on being a preschool teacher in addition to providing private childcare for families in the area. I love being part of all the milestones and celebrations while also being an extra set of hands to help as needed. Mom receives a gift bag with my No Cramps tea to drink after birth to help with the bleeding and cramping.
