Carly Ann Marshall-Braun

8 years of experience

I am Chicago based childbirth educator, doula, and soon-to-be midwife. I am passionate about supporting undisturbed physiologic birth. I believe in healthy-at-any-size. I've been teaching Evidence Based Birth for two years and I recently finished Midwifery school (to be licensed in 2026). I adore working with queer families, trans folks, and families who have used fertility support. My expertise spans home birth, birth centers, and hospital birth. Most people who take my class are at a birth center or hospital. Many want an empowered low-intervention birth, but most also want information about the benefits of epidurals, and when is the best time to get one. I am passionate about you having the birth YOU want, and having agency over your body and birth, no matter what this journey brings. I provide evidence based information, grounded energy, and listening ear.

Carly Ann was our doula for the birth of my second child and she was so incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and her presence was deeply grounding for me. Having her guidance in the hospital room was incredible for my husband and me both, and it just felt like we didn't need to worry about anything with Carly Ann there to remind us of anything or prompt us in important moments! She also came by to support after the baby was born and I appreciated feeling like I could just relax and be cared for by her. Super grateful that we got to work with her and I highly recommend her to anyone interested in working with her!! x

Megan Winfrey

5 years of experience

Hi, I’m Megan Winfrey – and I’m here to support you through one of life’s most powerful moments. As a certified birth doula with over four years of hands-on experience, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside many families through a variety of birth experiences—natural births, cesarean births, and even NICU stays. I understand that every birth is unique, and my mission is to help you feel empowered, informed, and deeply supported every step of the way. My approach is compassionate, calm, and grounded in evidence-based care. I offer emotional, physical, and informational support to help you navigate your options and make decisions that feel right for you and your baby. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth, home birth, or something in between, I’m here to advocate for your wishes and create a space of peace, confidence, and joy. I’m also currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Chamberlain University, further deepening my understanding of maternal and newborn care. And beyond my professional journey, I’m a proud mom to a vibrant one-year-old boy who inspires me every single day. Becoming a mother myself has given me an even greater appreciation for the strength, beauty, and vulnerability of this sacred season of life. You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s create a birth experience that reflects your values, honors your strength, and welcomes your baby with love. Warmly, Megan Winfrey Birth Doula | Student Nurse | Mother & Advocate

Mia Willis

7 years of experience

It is an honor to be here. My name is Mia Willis, a Chicago-based birth worker, educator, and founder of Sorin Motherhouse—a maternal practice devoted to the protection, becoming, and realignment of the mother. Sorin Motherhouse is built on the belief that maternal care is sacred work, not a service industry. My approach to birth and maternal care is relational rather than transactional, grounded in presence, discernment, and sovereignty over saviorism. My work is informed by lived experience, research-backed training, and clinical practice, honoring the mother as the primary site of wisdom and transformation. I hold training in traditional birth work and budding herbalism alongside modernized birth support, with an emphasis on trauma-informed care that is respectful of diverse lived realities. My practice also includes foundational education in nutrition and lactation support during pregnancy and the fourth trimester. I have served over seventy families as a full-spectrum doula, holding space across a wide range of birth experiences with care, steadiness and integrity. Sorin Motherhouse is carefully curated maternal space for those who approach birth as a rite and maternal care as a serious, embodied charge. It centers mothers who enter pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood with the understanding that becoming requires intention, rest, and deep respect. This work is rooted, discerning, and intentionally held—by design. I look forward to connecting with you.

I have raved about Mia for years. I will continue to rave about Mia for the years to come. Absolutely amazing. I was one of her very first mothers and she has helped me welcome two of my little ones earth side. Care is phenomenal. She is patient, she is a leader. And she is a hardworking, my last delivery, she was right there waddling alongside me, helping me bring forth life, while she carried one of her own. I will forever have her as a doula. I love her and I know anyone else that welcomes her care, will as well.

Darnicia Holt

Darnicia Holt

9 years of experience

Hey! I’m Darnicia, a full-spectrum doula, birth mindset educator, and reproductive justice advocate. TL;DR From organizing protests and fighting for social justice to shutting down systemic abuse, violence, and oppression in the medicalized perinatal care system. My passion? Teaching incredible birthing people — like you — how to trust your intuition❤️‍🔥 and advocate for your autonomy,🗣️ so you feel ✨empowered to be the authority of all your reproductive experiences✨ — fertility to postpartum (or not being pregnant at all). 👀 A little more info… To me, birthwork is inherently linked to social justice and activism. Birthwork is advocacy, and advocacy follows you through every aspect of your life. Therefore, advocacy isn’t something you learn; it’s who you are. I’ve taken what I’ve learned in my years as a social justice organizer and have applied it to birthwork. Sometimes, the fight for my clients to have the reproductive outcomes they desire mirrors the intensity I’ve seen when organizing for human rights. When necessary, I use the same energy it takes to shut down streets and apply it to protect my clients’ experience. What does this mean for you? I have the heart and the skills to fight for your dream birth or whatever support you need. But no worries, I’ll only fight to whatever extent you need or are comfortable with. ☺️ The foundation of the doula role is about the person you are. I am an advocate. Fun facts: I’m a wife and Mom of two. I’m a HUGE Marvel/MCU fan. I L😍VE Thai Iced Tea and mushroom coffee 🍄☕.

Darnicia helped us with postpartum care for our newborn and we are grateful beyond measure for her support and expertise. She is very kind, calming, and has a high degree of knowledge. She is such a warm person and we felt well cared for alongside our baby. In the matter of a few weeks, we went from frazzled new parents to having a baby who sleeps through the night multiple nights per week. I highly recommend Darnicia for postpartum care for anyone who is looking to establish healthy routines for their baby and wants to feel very supported in the process.

I'm also affiliated with Sokana Collective. Postpartum care should feel like love work. Practical, steady, no judgment. Whether it's helping you rest, figure out your baby's cues, or just having someone in your corner who gets it, I'm here to support you in the most intimate family moments.

Moniqueca is truly a master of her work. She was our Doula back in 2023 for Baby Rumi is soon gonna be three. Her classes prepared me to know what to expect as well as advocate for myself in the hospital. I remember it so vividly being around 5 cm dilated, doctors rushing in telling me that my daughters heart rate was too high and they might have to do a c-section. I called my Doula Moniqueca and she told me some turn the music on and to twerk my baby out. 3 mins later I felt the catheter pushing out of me and my baby's head coming through the birth canal lol. I told her dad to get the nurses because this baby was coming NOW!!! After 10 mins of pushing my beautiful babygirl was born and she is so smart and kind. I feel that having such a great doula contributed to this. Do yourself a favor and let her assist you with preparing for your bundle of joy.
