Postpartum can be a vulnerable time, and coupled with a huge transition and lack of sleep, sometimes gets off track. That's where I come in. My goals are to meet you where you're at and fill in the gaps. Most often, this means helping baby sleep so you can too! I specialize in breast or bottle feeding support and troubleshooting, multiples, and newborn sleep. I also have years of experience and am comfortable with preemies and NICU babies. My personality is casual, friendly, and warm, and I bring my sense of humor with me everywhere. Clients appreciate my calm nature and positivity, as well as the resources I provide to get them through anything that might arise. I often hear, "I wish I had doula support for my other babies!", and "We got so much more sleep than we would have without you." For the past three years, I have had the honor of serving as a birth doula, supporting families as they prepare for one of the most transformative moments of their lives. My mission is to help families explore and voice their preferences, feel empowered in their decisions, and prepare both emotionally and physically for birth. I love birth and supporting new parents. I have been doing birth work since 1998. I currently work as a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and support families with loss and termination. I am a Milk Magic educator, providing information about the science of birth, common challenges and strategies for those challenges and where to access support. I support families in all birth settings: home, hospital, birth center, and telehealth. My love of childbirth was ignited after the birth of my first daughter.  I was blessed with continuous support during my own birth experience and knowing the difference it made for me, I was inspired to be a part of a community of women helping each other through the most transformative and empowering moment of their lives.  My journey began focused on midwifery; however, after learning of doula work and the direct, personal impact it can have on a woman’s birth story, I knew this path was a better fit for me.  As a student of Mother Tree Birth Services, I completed a DONA approved birth doula training in 2014, followed by a 6-month intensive birth doula internship. I support all types of birth in all settings. I’m trained in Hypnobirth, the Mongan Method as well as traditional natural birth methods in addition to planned epidural birth. I have always had a passion to support women and babies every since I was younger. I have been in the medical field for 7 years now since I graduated high school and am a medical assistant. I have also been a newborn nanny to multiple families. I fell in love the women’s health/OBGYN/labor and delivery when I started as a medical assistant 4 years ago and was a medical assistant for 2 years at a women’s clinic and fell in love with the women’s clinic and got to shadow over 10 births by the midwives and OB’s at the clinic. I am currently applying for nursing school to become a labor and delivery nurse but wanted to be active in this field of work right now, so this is where I decided to become a birth doula. These experiences shaped me deeply and ignited my passion for supporting families navigating recovery, mental health challenges, past trauma, limited support systems, and complex family dynamics. When I gave birth in 2013, I had no idea postpartum doula support even existed. I believed new parents were simply supposed to figure it out on their own, and if they struggled, it meant they were failing. I now know how UNTRUE and harmful that belief can be. As a lifelong night owl who spent years trying to fit into a morning-person world, I’ve finally found my calling providing overnight postpartum care during my natural “prime time” hours. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, I’ve been happily married to my best friend and biggest cheerleader for over three years. Together, we’ve blended our family with my kiddo and his son. Now that our children are older, we share a passion for travel, curiosity, and fully experiencing the world around us.
