Simone has been holding space for expecting and postpartum families for over 10 years. Birth has a powerful way of healing and transforming you, and her first birth did just that. The ability to have 2 empowered births the way she wanted, gave light to the need for advocacy, education and doula support amongst the birthing community, especially black families. Simone is a mother, doula, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, childbirth educator and infant sleep educator. She has been teaching and mentoring doulas along the way and excited to dive deeper into holding the hands of the next generation of birth workers.

I cannot say enough good things about Simone as our night doula and lactation consultant. From the moment she entered our home, she brought a sense of calm, compassion, and expertise that made an immediate difference in our postpartum experience. As a second-time mom navigating recovery, sleep deprivation, and feeding challenges, her presence was nothing short of a gift. She supported our entire family with such gentleness and professionalism. Her overnight care allowed us to get desperately needed rest, knowing our baby was in kind, capable hands. Her lactation guidance was equally invaluable. She offered evidence-based support with zero judgment—troubleshooting tummy issues, providing reassurance, and giving practical tools that worked. Thanks to her help, I went from overwhelmed and in pain to confident and empowered. I did not feel a bit of judgment when I chose to go from breastfeeding to formula due to my baby's tummy issues. She listened deeply, responded thoughtfully, and truly respected our parenting values. She didn’t just care for our baby—she cared for us. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also emotionally attuned and reliable, I wholeheartedly recommend Simone. She’s an absolute gem and a vital part of our early parenting story.

Nicole Chen was an incredible support throughout my breastfeeding journey. I was having a very difficult time with my baby struggling to latch, finding out my baby was tongue-tied, and dealing with a low milk supply. It was an emotional and overwhelming experience, but Nicole was patient, knowledgeable, and so encouraging every step of the way. She took the time to listen to my concerns, offered practical techniques to improve latching, explained how my baby's tongue tie could affect feeding, and gave me realistic guidance and support for increasing my milk production. Most importantly, she never made me feel judged or discouraged. Her compassion, expertise, and reassurance gave me the confidence to keep trying. I am so grateful for her care and would highly recommend Nicole Chen to any new parent looking for a caring, supportive, and experienced midwife and breastfeeding advocate.

Hello! I’m Gabrielle. A little bit about me and what sets me apart: I am an Ayurvedic birth and postpartum doula, an Holistic Pregnancy and Birth Practitioner (HPBP), and I am in my final year of a Master of Science degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda Health. And, aside from all of that, I have been a career nanny for over a decade with experience working with moms and postpartum. My knowledge of this ancient wisdom of Ayurveda allows me to bring a unique approach to your postpartum by focusing on nourishment, healing, rest, + bonding. My focus is to hold you so you can hold your baby. As we enter into this sacred journey together, know that my intention during every stage is done with the utmost reverence and respect for the art of bringing new life into the world, and I am merely a bystander in your new journey to motherhood. I am so looking forward to serving you.

Could not have went through labor/delivery and early postpartum days without gab. As a FTM going through a journey i didn’t know anything about having gab by my side made me calmer, more informed and eased my anxiety. She walked me through birth plans, dealing with the contractions, helped me latch babygirl from the moment she was out. Between the post partum massage/belly binding, just teaching me how to wrap my baby, how to properly feed her, and coming over just to talk through my post partum feelings, I truly could not have done this without her!!

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. Currently a scuba diver who tried free diving for the first time in 2025. I’ve swam with sharks & I'm here to tell the story. Background: I offer virtual birth & postpartum doula support, Lamaze childbirth ed, Spinning Babies classes, babywearing education, prenatal & postpartum mental health assessments & continued support, trauma informed & culturally aware care, placenta encapsulation, somatic music therapy, reiki & early intervention referrals. I am a mama of 2 (of the best children), my womb held three. My arms held 2 older children too. At 24 years old I was in charge of a 6 person household & I pray I will never see math homework again. I began my second degree in nursing 6 months after having my son. My rainbow baby. With struggle comes expansive gains. Joan Sherwood

I am Joan Sherwood, founder of Peaceful Beginnings To You. My calling to become a doula was born from a personal experience. During the birth of my child, I was left alone in a hospital room without any support. My spouse and brother were sent home because I was not in active labor. My water had broken, so I was admitted, and I faced the daunting process of labor alone, in a secluded area until it was time to push. This experience, where I delivered a 9 -pound, 2-ounce baby without my loved one's present, ignited my passion to ensure that no other person would have to endure such solitude. My journey as a doula began 25 years ago when I assisted a family member through labor. Since then, I have been a source of support and guidance for family and friends, which eventually led me to pursue certification as a birth doula through DONA International. I am deeply committed to holistic birth and postpartum care, and my extensive training reflects this dedication. My education includes a Family Development Credential, studies at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the Center for Homeopathic Education, and the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. I am also a certified Calm Birth Instructor, Infant Massage Instructor Trainer, Womb Sauna Practitioner, and have received postpartum training from Indigemama, BirthMama, Traditional Postpartum Practitioner, and Birth Arts International. My approach to doula care is centered on the needs of the laboring person. I come with no preconceived notions, and I remain as fluid and flexible as possible to meet the evolving needs of each individual. In addition, to running my private doula practice, I have provided doula care to underserved communities as a doula and doula mentor for a federally funded program in Brooklyn.

Joan was my doula for both my pregnancies, one in 2014 for my now 8 year old and again during the pandemic for my 2 year old. I highly recommend Joan she provided such consistent support during both pregnancy, while birthing and postpartum. I was so fortune because Joan is just naturally resourceful and intuitive and she was right by my side every step the way. To this day I consider her such an empowering and beautiful human being and I am thankful that she was with me on my journey into motherhood -- I would choose her again and again and again!!!

Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists — it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt like I had a safe space to ask questions, process emotions, and explore my birth preferences without any judgment. Every visit left me feeling more prepared, more empowered, and more connected to my body and my baby. During labor and birth, Ivy Haven showed up with such quiet strength and intuition — anticipating what I needed before I even had to ask. Whether it was hands-on comfort, encouraging words, or just holding space, the support was everything I hoped for and more. I truly don’t know how I would have navigated it all without that presence. And postpartum… wow. Having someone check in on me — not just the baby — made all the difference. Ivy held space for my recovery, my questions, my tears, and my joy. From helping with practical tips to simply sitting and listening, I felt truly cared for in those tender first weeks. Now, with my baby girl nearly four months old, I still carry the strength and grounding I gained from my experience with Ivy. I’m endlessly grateful.

Yasmina was a vital part of my second pregnancy and labor and delivery. I don’t know what I would have done without her. To give some background, I had an emergency cerclage put in and I reached out to Yasmina after to inquire about her doula services. She listened to my concerns, my backstory, and my wishes. Not only was she attentive and caring, but because she knew there was a possibility the baby would be born early, she had a backup doula in case she was not back from out of town. That doula was also so attentive and was full of knowledge as well. Yasmina checked in with me consistently and when it was time, she came to the hospital immediately after I confirmed she should come. When there, she had so many strategies to help calm my mind and my body. She helped me think through decisions when it came to my labor and the hospital/doctors and she advocated for me. Yasmina knew I wanted to go natural/no epidural or Pitocin and we made a plan to do so. As the pain got more and more intense, she was encouraging and suggested different positions and coached me through the contractions and hard times. She applied pressure and made suggestions and had music and lighting and smells to set the scene in addition to different tools to help me through. I was in labor for about 3 hours and when it came time that I felt I couldn’t go any further because the pain was a 10/10, she continuously cheered me on until it was time to push. While pushing she advocated for me when I couldn’t even talk. When things got scary after baby came out, she held my hand and calmed me. After things were settled she made sure I was okay before she left. Afterwards, she checked up on me many times. I was not able to have a doula during my first labor because it was during COVID, Yasmina made my second labor a COMPLETELY different experience in a positive way. The first time I tore a second degree and my cervix lacerated, the second time with her I only had first degree tears and a good recovery and I truly believe it was because she calmed me and helped me relax my body as much as possible during labor. I highly recommend Yasmina to be your doula. She is knowledgeable, understanding and good at what she does!
