I am a mother to 7 and grandmother to 3 toddlers. My children range from 16-31 years old. Yes they are all mine and I gave birth to every one, plus 4 in Heaven. When I gave birth to my children I was able to do 6 of them unmedicated and all were delivered vaginally with no significant damage to my lady parts. All a testament to good education, faith, and great, knowledgeable caregivers. I would love to work with clients who are seeking this kind of birth. However, my passion and calling is to help parents to have the birth they are desiring, and to support them in their journey no matter the method; whether vaginal, unmedicated, epidural, C-section(planned or emergency), hospital, birth center, or at home. I've served hundreds of families over the course of my career and enjoy teaching childbirth education, infant feeding support, supporting high risk/high anxiety clients, and VBAC birth support. When I first started in the business of helping people I worked as an alcohol and drug counselor at a residential treatment facility. I worked with and guided people from very diverse backgrounds. That work has directly applied to my ability to effectively communicate with and support others. After my time as a counselor I co-founded and currently co-own a personal training business that specializes in training folks who are pregnant and postpartum. Becoming a doula seemed like a natural next step as an extension of what I'm already passionate about doing: helping and empowering people.
