Still in early stages of planning but I will probably give birth at Carle Hospital. My OBGYN is currently Christie clinic. We are graduate students and so have a meager budget (maybe around 1,000 dollars). I don’t know what kind of birth I want but I have some chronic health issues and am mostly looking for someone who can advocate for me in medical settings. This will be our first child and I do have a husband who is very involved. I am seeking someone who is feminist, LGBTQ friendly, and open to modern medicine. We also are not from the area so it would be great to connect with someone who can tell us about local resources.

I planned to give birth at Memorial Hospital, not opposed to doing St. John’s in Springfield, Illinois. I would just like another advocate and someone there to support my beliefs against the hospital system. If I feel pressured in anyway, there are a lot of things that I align with more in a Doula or a midwife and as a first time, mother, I think I could really benefit from having somebody there to support. My husband and I.

I plan to give birth in the hospital. I have no idea what this costs, but I’m looking for something inexpensive that accepts BCBS insurance. I’m going to work toward doing it as natural as possible. We are expecting our first baby and are looking for a doula who can help guide and support us through the process. We recently moved to the area and are also new to military life, so we don't have family nearby and are still learning about local resources and birth options. We plan to give birth at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh. Our preference is to have as natural a birth as possible. I would like to avoid an epidural unless it becomes medically necessary, and I hope to avoid induction or other interventions unless they are needed for the health and safety of me or my baby. My goal is to be present, informed, and actively involved in the birth process. Since this is our first baby, we have limited knowledge and would love a doula who is experienced in educating and supporting first-time parents throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. For our budget, we would prefer to work with a doula whose services are covered by Tricare Prime or who has experience helping military families navigate reimbursement options. We are open to discussing costs and available packages.
