My journey into birth work started with my own path into motherhood, and it has become my greatest passion to support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I began my career as a birth professional in 2013 as a registered nurse, specializing in Labor & Delivery. I am also a certified doula and home birth midwife. I have worked as a travel nurse in different states, which has allowed me to learn a variety of useful methods and introduce them where beneficial to my birthing moms. Additionally, I have completed training to become a fertility and pregnancy and infant loss (PAIL) advocate. As a registered nurse I hold certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), AWOHNN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate & Advanced), and Safe Sleep. My goal is to help educate mothers and families to be as prepared as possible for the childbirth experience and help them to adjust thereafter. I’m a work from home mom and I had my first baby in June of 2023! My husband and I have been married since 2022 and we’ve grown up in Kansas City our whole life. I’ve been passionate about birth since I saw my mother birth her last two children about 10 years ago and noticed how much women need advocates and support during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum! Since then, I’ve been trained as a doula through GEM (Global Education of the Midwife) and have been pursuing a postpartum doula course as well. I hope to provide my clients with all the information necessary to empower them to make informed decisions about their birth plan/goals. If a client is open to it, I also love my Christian faith and try to implement that in areas of my work as well.

Hi! A little about me. When I was 3yrs old I told my parents that I wanted to be a baby doctor. Fast forward to college, and I was pre-med for two years before changing my major to Psychology. My name is Becky Hodge. I live south of the KC Kansas area. I’m a mom of three, 20, 22 and 26 and married over 30 years. I’ve always had a passion for taking care of others, so, no matter what season of motherhood you are in, first baby or beyond you deserve to be heard, seen and loved on. I’m currently taking Post Partum Doula training courses to help educate myself how to help families get to know, understand and bond with their baby. I would love to help you with light housework, errands, babies' laundry, watching baby while you take a well-deserved nap or shower and make you a home cooked meal. Overnights are also available, so you get a good night's sleep while I care for your little one. In my free time I love just being with my family playing games, baking/cooking, and my guilty pleasure is a delicious, iced coffee!

My passion as a doula is empowering pregnant women to take control of their prenatal preparation. I learned with my first pregnancy that birth is a huge physical feat, so I give you tools and simple movement exercises (that I wish I had back then!) which will train and balance your body specifically for the task at hand: pregnancy, birth, and recovery. I hired a doula for my first two births and I was SO grateful for that decision!! I gave birth at a free-standing birth center, with the support of her and my spouse. If it wasn't for my doula, I know I would not have made it through the marathon of labor! I came away feeling supported and strong. I was certified as a doula in 2016 and then in 2022 trained as a Body Ready Method Pro & Childbirth Educator. My wish is for everyone to be able to bring their baby into the world feeling supported, cared for, and prepared. My birthing practice is named My Ancient Birthing to commemorate my love for my God and also to embody and recognize ancient birthing practices. I am also an activist for the fair treatment of minorities; therefore, my practice serves as a pillar in supporting this paradigm. I am an ante, intra and postpartum doula AND midwife, a fertility and birth practitioner through DONA and I specialize in small surgical circumcision(s), lactation coaching and maternal fitness. I have a plethora of accomplishments through my work in My Ancient Birthing, but among the greatest achievement was being interviewed by the Voyage Magazine on March 5, 2026.
