I’m a doula, certified lactation counselor and newborn photographer. I’ve been a CLC since 2018 and a doula since 2021. I’m based out of Winston Salem, NC & serve in person up to a hour outside of the area. I serve all areas virtually. Overnight services provided within 30 minutes of Winston Salem.

After a beautiful and empowering first birth, although it didn't go according to my original vision, a fire was lit to come alongside families in their own birth journeys. As a doula, I will support you whether you choose a home birth, a planned cesarean, or anything in between. My goal is that you know your options, are supported in them, and are surrounded by feelings of safety and love. I have worked in a variety of capacities before arriving in the birth world. I studied Exercise Science in college, where I learned the amazing things our bodies are capable of when we treat them properly or move them in certain ways. I've worked as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab, and as a wellness coach in a hospital setting. I was in full-time ministry, working with college students and teenagers. In that capacity, I learned to meet people where they're at, to comfort and to “hold space” for someone. These experiences brought me to a new understanding of wholeness - body, mind and spirit. This set me up perfectly to team up alongside women in their birth journeys - one of the most life-changing events we can experience!

And as a mama to 7, you can find comfort in knowing that I have plenty of patience and experience wrangling kiddos! I want my images to tug at your heart. My name is Alex Carpenter and I am a Doula located in Winston-Salem NC. I have a BS and M.Ed in special education and child development and over 5 years in the education field. After attempting to start my own family and going through several rounds of fertility treatment I decided to leave the education field and become a Doula. My goal is to be a support to all who are navigating fertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I aim to be a support for those experiencing pregnancy and parenthood, being advocate for your wants and needs throughout the whole process.
