Navigating postpartum anxiety, depression, and nursing challenges as a single mother was a deeply formative experience. My second birth—a natural water birth at a birth center attended by midwives and a doula—was profoundly different. It was through that empowering and supported experience that I came to understand the incredible strength of the birthing body, and the vital role that informed, compassionate care plays in a woman’s journey. As I moved through this transformative chapter, I found myself drawn to learning more about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
